Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Marketermanager. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article ReConnect Café, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 19:27, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to ReConnect Café. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at ReConnect Café, you may be blocked from editing. Marianna251TALK 19:51, 25 February 2016 (UTC

I don't mean to be disruptive. I tried removing anything that was promotional. I made those changes because when I googled ReConnect Café, which is in my home town of Delta, PA, I saw that the information on wiki was for a place in NY which doesn't go by the same name, not with the same spelling/capitalization
