Conflict of interest guideline
[edit]Something we do not make clear enough to new users is that Wikipedia is not a place for companies, or people, to tell the world about themselves. Experience has shown that, with the best will in the world, and however neutral they think they are being, people with a conflict of interest tend to tell the story the company wants told about itself, rather than what an encyclopedia reader wants to know. What to do about this is covered in the [[Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and there is some background in User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard.
