Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Battle of Julin Bridge, from its old location at User:Marius Kristiansen/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Iflaq (talk) 23:15, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The battle of Jelling moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, The battle of Jelling, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Referencing

[edit]

Hi — I've just moved two of your recently-created articles into the draft space. They've been previously deleted or draftified for lacking sufficient references; the way to deal with that is not to republish them, but to ensure that the references are adequate to support the article contents. A single source, cited one or only a few times, is not enough. Please do not move these to the mainspace, or recreate them again, before they are ready and properly supported. Thank you. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:02, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean by reliable independant sources. Nearly all we know of the Danish Civil war is from Saxo Grammaticus (the one i reference is a 1898 translation), so i think if you know of any other writer (who wrote during the war) whos acount is as detailed as his i would love to read it. His source is in my opinion the only one you would need.

The problem with single source is that anyone can write anything they want and get it published. The more sources there are (that at least broadly agree on the subject), the more likely the statements are to be reliable. This is pretty basic stuff, and I believe has been pointed out before. (And as for what "I mean" by reliable sources, please see WP:RS.)
Even if you do rely on a single source only, it needs to be cited wherever you're relying on it for verification. When there is a lot of content without citations, it's impossible for anyone to know whether the information comes from the source cited elsewhere, or is based on the editor's own original research (which is not allowed).
Finally, if you ping me with your replies, I'll know that you've responded; otherwise I don't.
Hope this helps. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@DoubleGrazing: Well i did reference him in both the siege of Schleswig and the battle of Jellinge heath. And i want to clarify this is not just a source this is the source on the danish civil war, and it is all written down around the same time, the book which i am referencing is from the 12 century (in Denmark). So the person who wrote this could not just get it published. I can cite more if you want, but all i am writing is practically citation, i read the text, translate it, compress it and then i write it down. The only thing i don't cite is the background part and the aftermath part as i thought one could just look at the main page were everything was relatively clear, but i can put citations there aswell i guess.
