Why? Pdfpdf (talk) 11:18, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

To bring those articles into line with all the others listed here. I imagine that there are other countries with those positions. — Manticore 11:51, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I figured that may be the motivation. When I did something similar last year someone came along and reverted the moves saying, it wasn't "necessary". I asked on his talk page about consistency - he ignored the question and rabbited on (at length) about "necessity". I decided that there were more pleasant ways to waste my time and let it go. (i.e. I'm giving you a heads-up that there are some who don't share our POV.) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:14, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
No worries, happy to discuss this with anyone else who takes an interest. Cheers, — Manticore 14:16, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Edited again. What specific areas read like an advertisement. Can you help identify them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brian Boyko (talkcontribs) 16:54, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

I think the current version is an improvement, but the article still reads like a company profile, not an encyclopedia entry. Why does this company deserve an article? What has it done that is noteworthy? — Manticore 01:49, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Bishops Waltham Junior School

Hello Manticore. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Bishops Waltham Junior School, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. Logan Talk Contributions 16:51, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. — Manticore 00:53, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

I have proofs that this group of people are not Dravidians. They are descendants of Suryavanshi kings of Haryana who are accepted by all to be of Indo-European ancestry. Saying Haryanvi people to be of Dravidians goes against all established facts. Have you any solid proof to make such extraordinary? Or is it just vandalism? 117.211.90.154 (talk) 08:07, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Well then this 'proof' needs to be referenced. By viewing the page history it is clear that others disagree with you, so to settle this I suggest you find a verifiable source and include it. In future I suggest you not go around accusing other editors of vandalism when in fact it is you who have taken to removing referenced sections of this particular article which you find objectionable. — Manticore 08:53, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your recent edits to Agarwal have been reverted as they could be seen to be defamatory or potentially libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are adding potentially contentious material to the article suggesting that a caste or tribe is deficient in someway. This seems to me to be no different from White racists of old times claiming the Blacks have recessive genes. Please don't add misinterpreted data based on unverifiable researches which are neither peer reviewed nor accepted by the majority of scientific community117.211.90.154 (talk) 14:17, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Agarwal, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Both Neurology and Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology are peer-reviewed medical journals. Given then that they represent more of the scientific community than you do, it is in fact your edits which are disruptive. Your accusation that I am a racist is baseless and offensive. — Manticore 14:52, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Manticore, as there are a quite some fictional countries on the wikia I thought it interesting to put the link to it. Maybe there is another, better way to inform the reader about these countries in different languages on wikia. Lotje ツ (talk) 04:59, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

That may be true, but Wikia hosts a number of wikis about a number of topics. It wouldn't be appropriate to mention all of those topic areas in the 'see also' section. — Manticore 14:35, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for letting me know. Lotje ツ (talk) 14:40, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

World Universities Debating Championship

If you look at the page history you will see that I (and others) have given reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DebateOne (talkcontribs) 22:27, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. The reasons are generally (a) this isn't an almanac of results; (b) most of the people listed are non-notable and their right to privacy should be respected; (c) most of the results are completely unsourced. --Mkativerata (talk) 08:11, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I read over the discussion on the talk page after receiving the previous message, which is why I haven't changed anything on the article. However, this highlights the need for appropriate edit summaries; as when DebateOne removed this information, I had no idea that it was based on consensus, and only saw a new account substantially blanking this article and reverting an anti-vandal bot. — Manticore 23:06, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Talk page blanking

You just reverted an IP who blanked their talk page; technically, they are allowed to do this. The only thing they have to leave are listed at WP:Blanking; in this case, it's just the "Shared IP" template at the top of the page. Even the block notice can be removed, as long as the editor isn't actively doesn't make an unblock request. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:49, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

My apologies, I thought that currently active block notices could not be removed. — Manticore 13:05, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Sir / madam,

could you please protect the wikipedia article from persons deleting text.

I have recently added to the article, quoting from Ms Ferreyr's own submission to the New York Supreme Court. I have also quoted from Reuter's news agency.

People constantly deleting substantiated text is surely not acceptable?

faithfully William de Berg (talk) 14:17, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

You will need to make that request here. In the meantime I suggest you avoid revert warring and harassing other users. — Manticore 15:05, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

This person making this additions is the same user as William de Berg who has recently been egaged in a editing war and has been warned that it is against the rules of wickepedia. He commiting vandalism in on the site. He is making false accusations against Adriana Ferreyr and citing references that do not prove the accuracy of his stamentes. Please read the refences to see that they do not prove his claims. This is a person working for Mr. George Soros that is trying to portray Ms. Ferryer. Is there any way to prevent his behaviour which falls under the category of slander and defamation. Thank you, Jane. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jane77765 (talkcontribs) 15:28, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Dear sir,

With regard to my contribution to the article of Ms Ferreyr. I have only quoted what she has submitted to the New York Supreme Court in her own testimony. You will understand that this is neither slander or defamatory. It is how Ms Ferreyr describes herself. William de Berg (talk) 15:38, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

The above user is also wrong to imply that I am in anyway representing Mr Soros. I have never seen, communicated with, spoken to or met Mr Soros, nor anyone representing him. I am merely adding to a biography to give a balanced view of the subject. Unfortunately no one is perfect. William de Berg (talk) 15:38, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Please continue this discussion here. — Manticore 08:34, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Ohio politicians/Marcus Qwertyus

I'm a long time reader of wikipedia and I've noticed recently that there are many edit requests being reverted by this user in relation to Ohio politicians. I felt compelled to create an account so I can combat this, but am afraid of being tagged as a sockpuppet by this individual, as many of my classmates at Ohio State have. From what I see, this individual is a teenager from Missouri, making his knowledge on Ohio politcians seemingly little. But unfortunately, he has reverted many legitimate edit requests from people I know who have never done anything wrong on this site.

This is deterring people who are involved and have knowledge on Ohio politicians. All of the edit requests were referenced with the official senate journal. Can you see that they are followed through, and that this individual (Marcus Qwertus) does not continue to hamper the integrity of these articles? Thanks LynchburgLongIsland (talk) 01:21, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Conversation split

I have some regret that my edit caused the image to disappear. At the same time, Wikipedia requires good English. There are two goods. A helpful image. Good English. In my view, good English wins out. It is regrettable that there isn't a way to edit the English caption such that the image could remain. Iss246 (talk) 14:34, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

I read your comment. Thanks for the explanation. Iss246 (talk) 15:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Merger proposal

Hi there - As an editor who has previously updated the Crushed Butler article I'd be interested in your opinions on a possible merger of content to this article. Talk:Crushed Butler#Merger proposal Thanks Londonclanger (talk) 13:16, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, but this isn't a topic area I'm particularly knowledgeable or interested in. — Manticore 12:27, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Unwarranted pride

"Wikipedia prides itself on providing a safe environment for its collaborators." You've preached this but in my own experience it is an unfulfilled premise to say the least. An editor can get by with a slanderous fabrication & accusation about me, then find support for it at ANI on the most implausible of excuses. Then I'm punished by abusive chiding based on a "he deserved it"/BOOMERANG! mentality & culture there. Feeling safe? Hardly. Indeed it has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I've withdrawn active participation in a WP project I enjoyed. FYI. Ihardlythinkso (talk) 08:41, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Not really sure what you're referring to here. — Manticore 23:55, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Here, presumes such an enviromnent exists, is intact, and needs preservation. Hardly! (Is that a template, or did you write? If a template, please excuse my intrusion here. "Wikipedia prides itself on endeavoring to provide a safe environment ..." would be more to the point ... possibly.) Cheers, Ihardlythinkso (talk) 08:42, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
I see it is a template. Please excuse. (My issue is w/ the template text.) Ok, Ihardlythinkso (talk) 08:45, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
