Your user page

[edit]

Welcome, again. I have taken the unusual step of removing the first messages that were placed here, because they were not at all a suitable welcome for a new user. It is worth saying that Wikipedia is quite different from the social-networking sites like Myspace and Facebook, because it is a project to build an encyclopedia, not a place for people to write about themselves and their families and friends. User pages are intended for the volunteers who are here to build the encyclopedia to say something about themselves and their Wikipedia work, in order to assist communication within the project. They are not for anything like a blog or an extended autobiography; but a brief description of oneself such as you have provided is perfectly acceptable. All this is explained at WP:User pages; the links in the Welcome message above will tell you more about Wikipedia and how to contribute. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:49, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
