See Wikipedia:About the Sandbox and WP:USERSUBPAGE. Sorry that the earlier editor didn't explain things to you. --David Biddulph (talk) 04:14, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Major Dracula, Yes it is frustrating that no one can ever just show anyone how to do things on Wikipedia. I have been editing Wikipedia for ages, and the rules change, and I still get rudely scolded, deleted, yelled at, called a troll for trying something less than perfectly.
You can move your article to this page: User:Major_Dracula/sandbox and work on your draft there. That's what a sandbox used to be, just a place in your "user" space, meaning pages that are not where readers go for articles on the encyclopedia. This workspace would be in your user space, or pages that are found under your User:Major_Dracula name. Go to this version of your user page, and copy all of the text except for the deletion template and paste it to User:Major_Dracula/sandbox.
While it would have been more helpful for User:JudeccaXIII or User:Jdcomix to just move the page for you, instead of everyone posting templates, then links to explanations, that's frequently how Wikipedia works, no one explains anything, they just alphabet soup you to death with links to tangentially related policy pages. I would move the page, but as an IP editor, I can't start a page in your user space, but you can. Good luck. 2601:283:4301:D3A6:ECA7:CBFA:3732:E0B0 (talk) 13:55, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
