Information icon Hello. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Duleek/Bellewstown GAA without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. About the deletion nomination of Tanim Sufyani and Pledge Karma

[edit]

Hello there, I would really like to know why you have nominated these pages for deletion and both in the same day. As far your user page is concerned I understand you are someone who is quite interested in politics. I don't see any reason why you should be interested in music and nevertheless, you have mentioned as the reason being "not a notable musician" but didn't show enough evidence. So can you please explain this apparent malicious act of vandalism against a particular group of musical act?

I hope you will understand the fact and give an explanation. You are welcome to leave your argument in User_talk:Gyangurubd.

@Gyangurubd: All the sources on the pages were unreliable and fail to demonstrate notability of the subject. You can check the version I had nominated for deletion. Tanim Sufyani (Full of unreliable citations for Stentorian, not Tanim Sufyani) Pledge Karma (Full of Amadergaan links, an unreliable source, currently the site has been sold to other owner). - Mar11 (talk) 06:18, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you have added a handful of tags in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party including WP:Third-party sources and WP:POV though the sources used in the article is neither based on sources closely linked with the subject, nor from any unverifiable source. All the references used in the article are from either books of internationally recognized authors or the authors from the rival camp of the subject.

I hope you will understand the fact and remove the tag yourself. You are welcome to leave your argument in my talk page.

[edit]

Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a build in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. Lead image on electric car article

[edit]

Hi Mar 11. This is to let you know that I undid your edit on the electric car article because you ignored the hidden message about seeking consensus before changing the current image (check the threads on the talk history page to see the long discussions we had had to choose the current image). In addition, as per the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, the lead should only have one illustrating image. Nevertheless, I believe the picture you brought is a very good candidate for the lead, screaming "electric car," so I opened a discussion in the talk to seek consensus. If you wish, please drop by. Cheers.--Mariordo (talk) 02:47, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of companies of Nigeria

[edit]

Hi Mar11, I reverted your move of List of companies of Nigeria. It goes against the current precedence involving hundreds of other articles in Category:Lists of companies by country. If you contest this move, consider WP:RM and explain why the other title is more appropriate. Thanks — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 00:04, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the image of Ramna Kali Mandir

[edit]

The image of Ramna Kali Mandir that you uploaded in Commons has an improper licensing information. This photograph falls under the category of artistic work and its creator is also known. Therefore this work can be in public domain only after "60 years have passed since the year of death of the author" (the fourth criteria in the licensing box), which mathematically impossible as of 2016. So the image can be nominated for deletion any moment. Therefore I'm restoring the previous image of Ramna Kali Mandir in the article. The previous image is uploaded under a fair use criteria of historic non-free image. BengaliHindu (talk) 14:31, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, Mar11. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello Mar11. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:12, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for providing me this tool. - Mar11 (talk) 11:57, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - newsletter

[edit]
Hello Mar11,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Mar11. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 21:26, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

On 24 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mangal Shobhajatra, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Mangal Shobhajatra (pictured) has been declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mangal Shobhajatra. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Mangal Shobhajatra), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. New Page Review - newsletter No.2

[edit]
Hello Mar11,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

[edit]

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Thanks for having a look at this article, but a one-paragraph article does not need to be divided into sections, so I suggest that it wasn't helpful to add that tag. On the other hand you could usefully have tagged it with {{link rot}}, otherwise known as {{Bare URLs}}. Thanks. PamD 08:05, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nudging merger proposal

About nine months ago you tagged Freedom of religion in Bangladesh to be merged into Secularism in Bangladesh. Since then the former has changed considerably. You didn't lay out at the time why you thought merging would be a good idea. Could you take another look at the articles as they stand today, see if you still feel a merge is the best approach, and if so either complete the merger or briefly sketch out on the discussion page what you'd like to see accomplished in a merger? --Worldbruce (talk) 22:13, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

[edit]
Hello Mar11,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

Electronic component

[edit]

Please explain why you restored a link I removed with the edit summary "Rv blank" as if you were reverting a common vandal. I explained in my edit summary that I considered the link to be spam masquarading as a reference. I think I deserve a better explanation than "rv blank". Printed circuit boards, as the platform for 90% of modern electronics, hardly needs a reference in a list of electronic components. Even if it did, a page that does not confirm that they are an electronic component, or even hardly mention them, is not an appropriate reference. The site belongs to a manufacturer selling pcbs, which is the likely reason for its insertion rather than to verify any actual fact in the article. SpinningSpark 16:31, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Spinningspark: Sorry....My mistake. I was about to revert the blanking previously done by a vandal. But somehow reverted your edit. That was silly, restored a spam while reverting a section blanking. - Mar11 (talk) 03:30, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Wikipedia Asian Month 2017: Invitation to Participate

[edit]

Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.

I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. The goal is for users to create new articles on Asian-related content, each at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words in length. Editors who create at least four articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard!

Also be sure to check out the Wikipedia Asian Art Month affiliate event - creating articles on Asian art topics can get you a Metropolitan Museum of Art postcard!

If you're interested, please sign up here for the English Wikipedia. If you are interested in also working on other language editions of Wikipedia, please visit the meta page to see other participating projects. If you have any questions, please visit our talk page.

Thank you!

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Explain your AFC accept at Draft:MagForce AG and your NPP review at HYPR.Regards:)Winged Blades Godric 08:15, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mar11,
You have "released" article Draft:MagForce AG a month ago. Your decision has been overruled by another user. Winged Blades asked you (in a harsh tone) to explain your release. Do you like to do that? The article, which of course I think is good, is pending for weeks…
Atomiccocktail (talk) 11:08, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The company clearly passes notability, a google news search (MagForce Nanotechnologies/MagForce AG) will show that. Most of the information in the draft are cited with secondary sources and some with primary sources (information about them). The article seemed non-promotional to me (that varies from person to person I think) and the creator didn't violate policy of WP:PAID (disclosed affiliation and didn't publish the article themselves). I think we should appreciate the editors who disclose COI/PAID. Otherwise they will try to publish articles incognito. - Mar11 (talk) 06:26, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Mar11,
Thank you for your statement. I will inform Winged Blades and ask him to reverse his decision.
To whom it may concern: I have written this article for the company respectively its PR agency. I have completely disclosed that. See the talk page. Atomiccocktail (talk) 17:39, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Mar11, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

You removed informations from Mehazabien Chowdhury's Page

[edit]

I would like to know why are you removing birth date, other names, notable works informations from Mehazabien Chowdhury's page? All the information have been given by herself in interviews and social media. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joybiswas391 (talkcontribs) 07:10, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Joybiswas391: One of the five pillars of Wikipedia is, each statement in an article must be sourced from a reliable source. Unsourced information in WP:BLP must be removed. Personal website and social media are not regarded as reliable sources in Wikipedia. Information heard from someone is not reliable source either. - Mar11 (talk) 17:23, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar11: so how we would I prove them? All the information are given by Mehazabien Chowdhury herself. So how would I prove those statements?

I'm connected with her. Other actors like Ziaul Faruk Apurba, Farhan Ahmed Jovan don't have source from verified sources. Unlike other actors and celebrities I want Mehazabien Chowdhury's wiki page clean and clear but you are continuously removing those information. I don't get it. :(

@Joybiswas391: You should refrain from editing that article. It is prohibited to edit article of a connected person by this policy: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. It is because, connected contributor can never edit an article from a neutral point of view. A general reader will understand how much promotional you have made this article. However, You can suggest information with published, secondary reliable sources on the talk page of the article. - Mar11 (talk) 17:46, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And also, don't upload images downloaded from Facebook. The copyright terms of Facebook and Wikipedia do not match. If you have any image that you captured yourself, you can upload them without hesitation. There must be exif information with the image. Thanks. - Mar11 (talk) 17:55, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar11: I am editing the article from neutral point of view. I get connected with her to verify the information. That's it. Anyway I give up :)

I'm not contributing anymore no matter how many times I edit, add things there's someone else who asks for the verification! How can a person prove each and every words!

@Joybiswas391: That's how Wikipedia works. Anyway thanks for your efforts. You should not give up. Suggest your changes in talk page. Edit and improve other articles to which you don't have any conflict of interest. - Mar11 (talk) 18:25, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.

RAW Pressery Deletion

[edit]

Hello Mar11, Regarding your reason for deletion of the page, I have removed the information about the fundraising by the company and its connected sources. Some of the other sources that have been used for citation include https://www.thehindubusinessline.com - A very independent and noteworthy newspaper website of the country, https://www.crunchbase.com/ - an independent, reliable website that tracks information about all companies using their own sources, http://bwdisrupt.businessworld.in - an independent business Magazine's website, https://economictimes.indiatimes.com - (used in multiple citations)Economic Times is a section of the noteworthy and independent newspaper of the country The Times of India.

Raw Pressery is trying hard to educate the people of India about the concept of Cold-pressed juice. Cold pressed juice being free of preservatives, artificial flavours and chemicals is a very healthy (and a much needed) alternative to the other tasty but non cold-pressed juices available in the market. I have also observed that Raw pressery promotes a healthy lifestyle among the masses through their Yoga/exercise related events/workshops etc. and they not only care about the health of the people but also that of the environment, through their initiative called RAWcycle, which is about creating polymer based tshirts/clothes by recycling the plastic (their plastic bottles). I have not added this information in the article because of lack of better and noteworthy sources. All of these facts about the brand and it's growing popularity among the masses inspired me to do some research and write this article. When @MatthewVanitas approved the afc submission of this article, it was graded as StartClass and this article can have a better future if you do not delete it, as our Wiki community will add more on the page. In fact, given your expertise on Wikipedia, you can guide me into making relevant changes to the article if needed instead of deleting it. Rest is up to you. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akash1221 (talkcontribs) 07:59, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious as to why you marked the above article as patrolled minutes after I had prodded it while patrolling. Articles that are marked up for deletion shouldn't be marked as patrolled. Why? If the prod is removed or a speedy declined, it will remain marked as patrolled. Pretty obviously, if one editor thinks it deficient enough to warrant immediate deletion, and a second editor disagrees, shouldn't a third editor be looking at it? Also, mechanically speaking, marking an article patrolled removes the NOINDEX attribute from it. We don't really want new articles that are up for deletion showing up in a Google search, do we? John from Idegon (talk) 04:15, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@John from Idegon: I was also trying to add a speedy tag to the article but due to the edit conflict with you i had canceled it. Don't know how it was marked patrolled in this time. - Mar11 (talk) 04:20, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's a bug in the script. If you use the sidebar to access a deletion process, it will mark the page as patrolled. If just use Twinkle, it won't. Out of curiosity, what criteria were you going to use for speedy? That always baffles me for films. John from Idegon (talk) 04:29, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarification. I was trying to add A11, as there is no source in the article and nothing appears on google search. - Mar11 (talk) 04:38, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You sure wouldn't be stepping on my toes if you went ahead and did that. I agree it's junk and could even be a hoax. John from Idegon (talk) 04:59, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
