Mangal Shobhajatra
[edit]- ... that Mangal Shobhajatra was declared intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2016?
Created by Mar11 (talk). Self-nominated at 17:36, 30 November 2016 (UTC).
- Article is new enough. Most information are sourced in the article including the hook. No copyright or neutrality issue detected. And no QPQ review needed since this look like the user's first DYK. However the article is too short. You need 1500 characters. Let me know when you get that part finished and I will give it a tick.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 07:08, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- @KAVEBEAR: - Can you check it now. I think its over 1500 character now. - Mar11 (talk) 18:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Good to go.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 19:01, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Some of the text is too close to the original sourcing. For example, the phrase "Since then, the students and teachers of the faculty have remained in the forefront for organising" is identical, and other places are quite close when different wording is certainly feasible. - @BlueMoonset: I have re-worded the article. The copyvio detector show 29% likely. Which is due to the quotation of UNESCO. - Mar11 (talk) 04:07, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Mar11, thanks; the close paraphrasing has been dealt with. However, the article could use a good copyedit, and the sourcing also needs work. The first two paragraphs under History are completely unsourced (each paragraph should have an inline source citation for DYKs), the first Prothom Alo source (6) is not available when I try to click on it (maybe the material is in the second Prothom Alo source, number 9), and both 8 and 11 are the same The Daily Star story, slightly expanded from the source 5 version from the Star the day before. - @BlueMoonset: Sources added - Mar11 (talk) 15:38, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- Mar11, what about the copyedit? If you haven't already, you should probably make a request at the Guild of Copy Editors. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:16, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

- The copy edit was requested on January 5 and completed today, and the previously discovered close paraphrasing was addressed last month. However, one issue was that the History section was mostly unsourced, and while each paragraph does have a source now, I don't see how the DUCSU source at the end of the second paragraph covers the events described in the paragraph, including the last mentioned event, Noor Hossain's death. Mar11, this needs a more comprehensive source. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:28, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: Sources citing Noor Hossain and mass uprising added. - Mar11 (talk) 04:54, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick work. The sources cover what I was asking for, so my issues with this nomination have all been settled. The hook facts remain in the article and are sourced there. This is ready for promotion. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:06, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
