Jezebel

Jezebel just reverted a fourth time on Madai blanking all the referenced info, can we cut to the chase without having to file a 3RR report? Til Eulenspiegel /talk/ 16:33, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not your own blog. You simply adding fringe theories to the article. In addition, 3RR is not only for me. It is for you too. Jezebel1349 (talk) 16:37, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

I didn't break the 3RR, Sherlock... Til Eulenspiegel /talk/ 16:39, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Yes you do. About 24 hours a day you are online and the only things that I see in your contributions are edit-wars, annoying others, fringe theories bla bla. You should be banned. Jezebel1349 (talk) 16:44, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

You both need to stop editing Madai until this is resolved, and please don't argue on this talk page. -- MacAddct1984 (talk • contribs) 16:40, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

It is not my fault. Jezebel1349 (talk) 16:47, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Jezebel is like a revert machine, four reverts in one hour just because now that I've found refs she still DONTLIKEIT. If you won't take action, I will have to draw up a report at ANEW. Til Eulenspiegel /talk/ 16:42, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
A report has been filed, but please keep cool in the meantime -- MacAddct1984 (talk • contribs) 16:49, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for filing it. Now I would love to restore the information I carefully referenced, but that would count as a 4th revert on my part. And by the time I can restore it safely it might begin all over again. The main problem seems to be her understanding of our fringe policy, she keeps linking the article fringe theory, but the actual relevant page she needs to read is WP:FRINGE where it is explained that much of wikipedia indeed covers material someone might consider "fringe", and our only concern is that such material not be given "undue weight" in the wrong articles - it's not about declaring a category of suppressed, unmentionable information called "fringe" just based on some random editor's complaint, with no clear guidelines. Til Eulenspiegel /talk/ 17:07, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your recent reverts of libellous comments. FYI, I have requested temporary semi-protection of these articles: Wikipedia:Requests for page protection#Australian musicians/performers/etc.. sroc 💬 04:05, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Reply to the speedy deletion of "Zubaida Rahman"

Sir, with due respect to your opinion, Dr. Zubaida Rahman is the wife of one of the most influential and popular leader of Bangladesh and the daughter in law of Zia family, one of the most influential families in South Asian politics.

As well as she has completed her MSc in Preventive Cardiology from the renowned Imperial College School of Medicine by securing the first place among the students from at least 55 countries with a distinction. She is also one of the best cardiologists of Bangladesh who has worked in the government service of Bangladesh.

I presume, she is worthy enough to be included in Wikipedia.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Endeavorbd (talkcontribs) 15:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Accusations of tribalism

I wish to request for a temporary page protection for Fani Kayode wikipedia page. Some disgruntled character from Igon ethnic group are inserting malicious comments to disparage the person of Chief Femi Fani Kayode. This cannot be allowed to stand or continue.

David Oluwafemi Adewunmi Abdulateef Fani-Kayode ( Femi Fani-kayode) is a known tribalist [1] as evidenced in some of his essays in August, 2013,[2][3] where he gloated about the women of another ethnic group that he had been intimate with. In one of his essays, he described the Igbos, an ethnic group in Nigeria of more than 40 million people as "collectively unlettered, uncouth, uncultured, unrestrained and crude in all their ways". His particular hatred for this group is partly hinged on his being envious of the success of this group and has also been traced back to his witnessing, as a six-year, of how his father was disciplined by an army captain of Igbo ethnicity.[4]

I am not able to protect the page, but I see you've added BLP noticeboard, which is a good step. I would also highly recommend posting a new topic on the talk page of the Femi Fani-Kayode article -- MacAddct1984 (talk • contribs) 20:07, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Seriously??

Your continual observation of my every edit is very irritating, and I find that it is not constructive at all. You continue to reverse my changes? Disruptive? Doing a little tweaking is disruptive? Interesting perception. E.g. with drew barrymore, her infox was far too crowded and you had things there like the 'barrymore family' that need not be there at all? If anyone is interested they can simply research her family further using Google. No need to crowd it up. I actually dub your editing disruptive, as you constantly remove everyone else's edits in favour of yours.

I agree that the cat should be removed per WP:BLPCAT which requires a statement directly from the subject, but it does actually appear that he may have converted to Islam. We need your help testing latest huggle

Hello,

I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!

Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:21, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon

Hi Macaddct1984, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!

Major changes:

  • Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
  • Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
  • Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far

In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:19, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Huggle message

Hey Macaddct1984! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 10:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Removal of my revision to Paul Simon's Graceland

No citation is necessary: the truth of the statement is evidenced in the work. Paul has absolutely no training as a vocal or instrumental arranger in any african music, and gave no authorship credit to any indigenous musicians. Likely, many of the musicians credited as performers were primary authors of this work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.249.90.65 (talk) 23:59, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

April 2016

Information icon Hello Macaddct1984. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Richfield Flores. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. About the edit you made in Zildjian page

The city of Istanbul was indeed named as 'Constantinople' before. However the city was taken by the Turk's in 1453 AD. After the year of 1453 AD, the city belongs to the Turk's and it shall be referred as 'Istanbul' from then on. As the Avedis Zildjian Company was founded in 1623 AD, it would simply be a mistake to call said city Constantinople. I will change it back to Istanbul to avoid misleading information. Thank you for your concern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.40.169.56 (talk) 17:07, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

@176.40.169.56: As per the citation on the Istanbul page, "the name Istanbul has been in use since before the 1453 Ottoman conquest, but in English Istanbul became common only after Turkey adapted the Latin alphabet in 1928 and urged other countries to use the city's Turkish name"; Names of Istanbul#Constantinople says as much.
