Promotional articles

The article you wrote was fairly promotional in tone. When writing about an area it should sound like a travel guide and you should not mention where people can purchase things- this is what made the article sound promotional. You can re-create the article but you must write it neutrally and more in line with other, similar articles on Wikipedia. The only thing I will caution you about is that unless this village is recognized by the government and/or has received coverage in independent and reliable sources, odds are high that it will probably be deleted from Wikipedia. Thank you for your feedback. I would like to correct the errors i.e. delete or change the information you deem promotional.

The village is recognized by the Japanese government, is on every map of Okinawa I have seen, has a town council, and has existed longer than the United States of America.

Can it be placed in some sort of draft status while I work on changing the tone from "promotional" to more of a travel guide. I will delete where people can purchase things. But I must admit the travel guide reference proved somewhat confusing as most travel guides mention where one can purchase lodgings, food, and transportation.

I only mentioned Nakadomari Station because of it's historical significance. The station has existed for hundreds of years and served as an important rest stop for Okinawans who traveled to and from the northern part of the island to the island capital of Shuri Castle and later Naha.

This is my first attempt at a Wiki contribution so I do apologize for my ignorance. I started to read the information about starting a page but it seemed so momentum destroying that I thought I'd just jump in before the motivation escaped me.

Again, is there a way to keep the page in an unpublished (draft) state until I am ready for review/publishing?

Thanks for your efforts. As a middle school social studies teacher who incorporates technology into every lesson, I do appreciate your efforts to make Wikipedia a legitimate and verified source of factual information. My middle school students and I do a great deal of internet research and I do not accept Wikipedia references (or any other references) without verification from another source. Wikipedia has proven to become an increasingly reliable source of factual information thanks to your efforts and the efforts of other Wikipedia editors.
