Please do not contribute text in Arabic to the English Wikipedia. Your contributions are more than welcome at the Arabic Wikipedia. Thank you. Andreas (T) 01:53, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Andreas, Can you explain why ? thanks. --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk) 11:34, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- There is a separate Wikipedia site for each language. Articles in English go to the English Wikipedia, Articles in Arabic go to the Arabic Wikipedia, etc. There are 271 different Wikipedias, one for each language. A list is here. Andreas (T) 16:16, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Aha, I understand now where to write my next article,whatever it is, Thanks.--MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk) 19:55, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Uploading Image Issue
[edit]Please, can somebody help me and tell me how to upload a photo to wikipedia ? and to tell me if it's OK to upload any picture ? Its link is http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/images/PCT-IMAGES/02032006/US2005029113_02032006_gz_en.x4-b.jpg Thanks. --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk) 15:08, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Images can indeed be inported into Wikipedia or into Wikimedia Commons (a media file repository making available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content) from where they can be linked. However, there are copyright restrictions for uploading pictures. The picture that you indicated seems to be from a patent and therefore protected by copyright and cannot be uploaded without explicit permission of the copyright holder. See Wikipedia:copyright and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for more information. Andreas (T) 16:06, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you Andreas (T) so much for helping ,that's all right , I should first ask for a permission before publishing a thing that isn't free to use. But, What about if I create a photo similar to a patent one with a little bit of differences, Does this consider breaking a copyright? --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk) 20:55, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know. Generally, a picture is not considered to breach copyright if it is sufficiently different form a protected one. However, in the case of a patent, this might be different. I would bring this up at Wikipedia:Village pump or Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems. Andreas (T) 02:21, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Ieee alexsb combo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ieee alexsb combo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:05, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Image uploads
[edit]Hello, please stop uploading copyrighted images under false licenses. The web site for the organization you are writing about claims copyright on all of that content; thus, you cannot upload it here claiming other licenses. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 15:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I've had to delete that entire article for being mostly a copyright infringement. You cannot transfer copyrighted text to Wikipedia—you have to write about topics in your own words from reliable sources. Please do not recreate this material. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 15:57, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- AHA, Just leave it till tomorrow and I will work on it to change it entirely,, BUT, can you tell me what I should do, As I have to write the article for the organization that I'm a member in it! --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk)
- I can't leave it there, because it is a copyright violation. We cannot have copyright violations present here. What do you mean by saying you have to write the article? Did someone in the organization ask you to write it? We actually strongly discourage writing about organizations you are involved in due to conflict of interest concerns. Please see Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for more information. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 16:15, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Let's Calm Down .. Can you tell me how you knew that the article is copywrited as if there's a problem we can fix it together? PS: Most of the information that I have been taken is from this website AlexSB Organization --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk)
- I'm calm, trust me. I knew it was copyrighted because I went and looked at the web site it came from. I already told you how to fix it—you need to write the article in your own words from reliable, secondary sources. I see above that someone posted a nice welcome message for you with many links to our core policies, guidelines, and style manuals. There is a lot of great information there to get you started. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 16:29, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- And by the way, discussion belong on Talk pages, such as User talk:MOHAMED ELRAYANY (this page) or User talk:Spike Wilbury (my Talk page). You don't edit someone's user page. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 16:32, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

There is something I want to ask about it, (We) as an organization, wrote the text in the webpage, designed the picture and did everything by ourselves. So, How we can't publish it in again wikipedia ?
Another thing, when I uploaded the 'Ieee_alexsb_combo.jpg', I got the permission to use it, but, when I wanted to update it and remove the old one I could not !! and you should know that we did design it and we set the copy-writes and we can use it as we want,can't we ?
The Thing that surprised me, that you easily remove all my work that I was working on it for two days and not letting me even to take a copy of my work to refine it or remove the not copywrited thing !! --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk)
- Your organization can give Wikipedia permission to publish their material, but that has to be done through official channels. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, specifically the section entitled "Granting us permission to copy material already online". We cannot simply take your word for it that you've been given permission; we require proof from the organization. I must stress again that even if you provide proof of permission, the text is likely to be deleted for being promotional material and a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; content here should be written in a non-promotional and encyclopedic tone, and you must supply secondary sources proving the organization's notability. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 17:16, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'm aware of what you said as the Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, And as I read from Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ("we are open to encyclopedic articles, with cited sources and written from a neutral point of view"), I can tell you that I was writing the article to be an encyclopedic articles with the resources, and I wanted to follow all the rules.
- But, It seems that the problem is in the images not the article as I changed text of the article in somehow.
- concerning the picture, you said that "Your organization can give Wikipedia permission to publish their material", How an organization gives a permission to Wikipedia rather than uploading it using the right Copyright tags ?? --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk)
- Read the page, under "Granting us permission to copy material already online". It tells you exactly what to do. The problem was with the text of the article and the images; that's why it was all deleted. You can't copy and paste any text from copyrighted sources, and you can't upload copyrighted images. If you do so without sending permission using the official channels, they will be deleted again. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 18:06, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

The article IEEE AlexSB has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no indication of WP:notability. unsourced claims to awards.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 20:15, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 57357 Hospital
[edit]You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on 57357 Hospital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Buggie111 (talk) 23:33, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
IEEE AlexSB
[edit]Hello MOHAMED ELRAYANY,
thanks for the message. I appreciate your work but you need to find reliable and verifiable sources. None of the external links are reliable sources so they cannot be used to establish notability. You can make your arguments on the matter at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IEEE AlexSB. I suggest you to post your message there, rather than the talk page. Before you do that you might want to first read through WP:ORG. Joaquin008 (talk) 06:25, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'm telling you agian, to post at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IEEE AlexSB (the dletion debate) not Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/IEEE AlexSB (the talk page for same which will be ignored. Jezhotwells (talk) 11:05, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- OK, Thank you Joaquin008 and Jezhotwells --MOHAMED ELRAYANY (talk) 18:52, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
The article 57357 Hospital has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Egyptian Engineering Day
[edit]A tag has been placed on Egyptian Engineering Day requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:51, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Nomination of Egyptian Engineering Day for deletion

While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Egyptian Engineering Day until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SchuminWeb (Talk) 22:04, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
