If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael Phelps Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Topher385 (talk) 15:47, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You need to ask a question... Peridon (talk) 22:22, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{help me}} i don't know why my article has not been deemed significant. there is significant press about this organization and some major articles have been published about it recently. there are other organizations like this one that have pages on wikipedia that have less information about them. how can I prove that this organization is noteworthy?

Perhaps Wikipedia:Notability would answer your question? I hope this helps but if not, leave another message. SwisterTwister talk 03:00, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I looked through that before I posted the article, and it is still giving me the same message. Can someone look through the Michael Phelps Foundation article that I am trying to post and let me know where I'm going wrong? I posted great references and have cited the information in the article as well.

The article has quite a few sources, but many of them do not meet the criteria for reliable sources. Many are to the foundation itself, or PR Newswire. Nothing wrong with including those cites, but they do not "count" toward notability.
That said, it looks like there are some acceptable sources out there. I'm surprised how few, given the subject, but there are some.
For example:
If you can include these, it should resolve the notability question.
You should find a source to support this statement "As Michael Phelps will be retiring after the 2012 Olympics, he has publicly stated that he will continue working with the Michael Phelps Foundation long after his retirement."--SPhilbrickT 14:04, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the 'helpme' - I see refs have been added, and it awaits a new review.  Chzz  ►  17:36, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
