[edit]- Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Simple Bob a.k.a. [edit]The wording has been the subject of extensive discussion. Please propose your changes on the article talk page and seek consensus there rather than continuing to re-insert it. DuncanHill (talk) 11:42, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Cornwall, you may be blocked from editing. Your actions in the article, going against consensus and what has been written by other editors are vandalism, pure and simple. Please stop or you will be blocked. Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 11:42, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- As an elected representative serving in Cornwall I take offence at that comment. My own Council prefers Cornwall to be referred to as 'being administered as a County of England' and without doubt and according to Wiki itself, the English Channel was formerly known as the British Channel. If you continue to dispute this I shall make formal complaint against Wiki and have the matter debated at Council. Please get your facts straight and how dare you threaten to ban me from an article which refers to the place where I work and serve. - In fact, I think I shall continue and make a complaint about your threat. Please inform me of who you answer to and a contact method. I am a Councillor and I hold an MA in Cornish and Celtic Studies and I am not prepared to be spoken to by someone who apparently lives in Somerset about an issue which involves Cornwall. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cornwall. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.
In particular, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:11, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Cornwall, you may be blocked from editing. Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 13:03, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Cornwall. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Cornwall&diff=prev&oldid=435503638 TeapotgeorgeTalk 18:50, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you make a personal attack, as you did with this edit to Talk:Cornwall. That Ole Cheesy Dude (Talk to the hand!) 19:25, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Edit warring
[edit]You won't win another childish edit war at Cornwall. You are going against the established consensus. If you really think your changes have merit then start a discussion on the talk page. --Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 07:34, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Again...
[edit]I think you may be heading for another block. Please don't edit war - discuss it on the article talk page. Ghmyrtle (talk) 11:21, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
