Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, M3dsouza89. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Paul D. N. Hebert, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bradv🍁 16:02, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
That up above....
[edit]You haven't responded. Your edits look a lot like what we'd expect from an associate or colleague, and if you don't respond we may assume the worst and block you from editing. Guy (Help!) 21:36, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
- JzG, you must have missed that they posted a COI disclosure on their userpage, shortly after I left the above message. Bradv🍁 22:39, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Sorry!
[edit]I am sorry for my unfamiliarity with the format on Wikipedia but I thought I had included by Conflict of Interest appropriately on my profile following the information about disclose a COI|WP:DISCLOSE 22:30, 23 January 2019 (UTC) M3dsouza89
- Please do not edit the article directly, instead request changes on the Talk page. Guy (Help!) 20:29, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- Who exactly am I requesting changes to if I do it that way? Can I put up a draft of what I would like to see in its entirety on the Talk page? MD
