Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:
- To find out more about creating articles, read the Introduction, the Tutorial, and the Guide to creating your first article.
- You should not write articles about yourself, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Before writing about your own business, read Business' FAQ.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox.

A tag has been placed on Standing Down, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 21:12, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Standing Down
[edit]An article that you have been involved in editing, Standing Down, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Standing Down. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 22:48, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- The reason I have nominated this article for deletion is that Wikipedia has a general policy (see WP:CRYSTAL) of not having articles about future events, and a particular policy (see WP:NFF) of not having articles about films until they are confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced shooting.
