Luthando maphanga(17) was born and bred in extension 8 langaville in the east of Johannesburg on 06 September 2003.
He is a singer,actor,presenter,entrepreneur,song writer,dancer and the founder of UMGOSI SHOW and THE BLACK HORSE CLOTHING.
His love for music started when he was 6 years old he used to sing at his school assembly and even at his home.he grew up in extension 8 his chilhood friend was thabang. Luthando was a naughty child he had a good relationship with his cousins nonhlanhla, simphiwe and noxolo.he also had a good relationship with his grandmother Eunice maphanga. His family always supported him every day.
When he was 13 years old his mom brought a house in tsakane then he moved in with his mom nelly maphanga,siblings thapelo and fifi and his stepfather.his family was not rich nor poor they were just average.
He started acting when he was doing his grade 7 in zamani primary school when he was part of an group called bokamoso performing group he acted in various stages in kwa-thema.
Then in 2016 he went to tlakula high school in kwa-thema.
In 2018 he was introduced to photography by his friend avuzwa mashumi who is a fashion model so his love for photography started there they went to photoshoots they were four him,ntokozo,nomsa and avuzwa , each friend played a huge role in his life because nomsa introduced him to social media and ntokozo introduced him to business.
In 2019 when he was 15 years òld he started his show Umgosi show but due to not having much connection he had to postpone the show to start in 2020.
In addition,in 2020 everything came together because during the lockdown he recorded his first song and he started his business 'the black horse clothing' and he continued pursuing presenting career because his show hosted live instaviews with celebrities guests like nokwazi dlamini , dbn gogo,shaun 101,mandisa vilakazi,zama khumalo,zamancube mncube,the Q.twins ,mduduzi mncube,Mr music ,nqobile gumede
Then 2021 he was nominated on the city awards under the category of HUSTLER OF THE YEAR.
