Hello. My other account is 'WoomyLuma', which now remains permanently unused. I created a new one because I wanted to change my name, so the old account will no longer be used. Apologies and thank you! LunaValoäa (talk) 15:23, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is an option for a name change while preserving account history, see WP:RENAME. It may be a better option for you. Otherwise, got it. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 03:16, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Marc Lesan moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Marc Lesan, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:26, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - thank you for the note. I merely translated the page from its Catalan page. I rarely write a page myself, and usually just translate. Now, if the suitability varies between languages of Wikipedia, I was not aware of this, but I will keep it in mind in the future - thanks again. LunaValoäa (talk) 16:37, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Comarques of Catalonia, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Noguera, Garrigues and Terra Alta. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extremadura placenames

[edit]

Hi! Putting WP:VER issues aside, Extremaduran language placenames are not endonyms for most places in Extremadura.--Asqueladd (talk) 08:23, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Erm... how come? Some municipalities had the name already, I only added it to the missing ones (same with Fala and Portuguese). Regarding verifiability, I used a manual of local toponymy which I will try to reference in the future (used by Extremaduran Wikipedia too) – but same thing, some municipalities didn't have it either. Even if they aren't endonyms for all places, I feel like it's important to include in some at least, much like Aragonese, Basque, Occitan, Catalan and Arpitan feature in many pages for communes that don't speak the language anymore or for whom it's just a nearby language. I can vaguely understand the big cities, but for the rest, I don't really see the reason. Thanks for your time, though. LunaValoäa (talk) 12:08, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If such languages are not local languages I don't see why their placenames should be included in most contexts (let alone the opening statements). Same can be said for any language, let alone if the existence of a given xenonym is barely verifiable. Additional features about this language in particular (which doesn't change the essence of the former) include its ortography seemingly being barely standarised to begin with... Sorry if I accidentally reverted some specific case in which a placename were actually an endonym, although we would be still talking about unsourced edits.--Asqueladd (talk) 12:41, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've never seen anything like this with all the other municipalities I've added regional language names to, but, how should it even be sourced? Just the name of the ortography manual? LunaValoäa (talk) 13:38, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose that there are handbooks about shuch things (placenames), non-user-generated reputed encyclopedias, as well as actual secondary sources dealing about toponymics or the place itself available for many languages. I am not aware if that's the case with the Extremaduran language corpus, which seems to be scarce to say the least. Needless to say, the possible existence of such sources does not turn Extremaduran into a local language.--Asqueladd (talk) 14:06, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
