school assignment
[edit]Hey, Lslch! I saw your question at Teahouse. Can you tell me a little more about what your actual assignment is? Like, was it to write and have accepted a Wikipedia article about literally "South West Coast of Madagascar"? Or what? Is there any more common place-name for it? The reason I ask is that "South West Coast of Madagascar" may simply not be notable by that phrase, so you may need to talk with your prof about what topic you should be writing about. Is the "Vezo Coast" another term for the same place?
If you would please ping me when you respond, that'll help make sure I see your response. To ping me, start your reply with {{u|Valereee}} and end your reply with four tildes like this: ~~~~ —valereee (talk) 12:33, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Valereee
Hello Valereee,
thank you very much for the help, I was hesitating between the two names indeed, the assignment is about writing a Wikipedia article about anything and understanding referencing, the different type of sources etc...
I used to live in Madagascar and used to go down the Southwest coast a lot hence the subject of my stub.
Thank you again for your help,
Louis

- I'm glad to hear that referencing was a specific requirement of your assignment. That is something which you definitely need to sort out in your draft. In the welcome message above there is a link to Help:Introduction, and on that page you will find links to specific advice about referencing. The Introduction page will also lead you to other useful pages. --David Biddulph (talk) 07:48, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hey, Louis! Your ping didn't work, because you added the signature (the tildes) in a separate post after you used the ping. You have to use {{u|Valereee}} and ~~~~ in the same edit or it doesn't work. :) If you forget to sign, just go back and reping/sign, rather than simply signing.
- What we need to see basically is ~three instances of significant coverage in reliable sources in order to prove notability. For geography, generally what they're looking for is a recognized place-name. If Vezo Coast is the more recognized name, that can work. —valereee (talk) 19:40, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
