Hirnantian article

[edit]

You have done absolutely fantastic work with the Hirnantian stage article. I hope you are still interested in continuing to other geological time periods. Thank you!--Jyril 21:06, July 9, 2005 (UTC)

Next articles

[edit]

Do as you like, I don't know if there are any articles that should to be created first. Maybe those stages when great changes occurred are the most interesting (like the Maastrichtian)? --Jyril 17:10, July 18, 2005 (UTC)

Category:Historical medical landmarks

[edit]

Thanks for your invitation. I'm interested in helping you, but I have two issues. The first is that I'm not sure your category is correctly named. In English, a monument is something like a plaque, statue, or something similar. For example, the plaque in front of No. 40 Broad Street, London, is a monument to the Broad Street Cholera epidemic. The items you have in your category list seem to me to be more items and locations of historical medical importance. For example, the Edwin Smith Papyrus is an item stored at a location in New York. It's not a monument.

This is not to say that I dislike what you are doing. On the contrary, I think a category covering items and locations of historic importance by country (and state/provence/etc.) is very important. It will alert people to resources and historic information in their localities, and provide a resource for students conducting research on the medical history of their areas. So, I think you should look into renaming the category.

The second issue is more practical. I can't figure out how to add my name to the list. Your members list doesn't seem to be like a number of other projects I've joined. Can you write some instructions for me on my talk page?

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
