Unspecified source/license for Image:Miquel Brown.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Miquel Brown.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 18:25, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Viola Wills

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Viola Wills requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Alinnisawest(talk) 21:35, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citing sources

[edit]

When adding information to articles, please say where you got the information from. See Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability. This is especially important for statements about the private life of living persons, e.g. divorces, names of partners, etc. Regards, HaeB (talk) 18:00, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you are continuing to insert personal details like full names of relatives and allegations about divorces or wife-beating. This is violating Wikipedia's policy on articles about living people. What is so difficult about saying where you got the information from? Regards, HaeB (talk) 08:12, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Week Days

[edit]

Hi. Please don't add days of the week to dates unless they are somehow relevant. See the Wikipeida manual of style on how to show dates. The use of linking in dates is also now deprecated. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop this. I know you think you're adding information, but the manual of style is there for a reason. Your edits are contrary to the preferred format for dates. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:31, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copying text from other web sites

[edit]

In this edit, you copied material from [1], apparently without permission. Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. [edit]

I have removed your recent edits to the Shirley Bassey article. These were unsourced, and potentially libellous. You have been warned about similar edits in the past. Please read Wikipedia's policy on articles about living people before proceeding further.

Stevie Wonder

[edit]

I reverted the two links about Stevie's familly. Both appear to point back here as their source - which makes them extremely poor sources for us! (John User:Jwy talk) 15:52, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sinitta

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to the article. I've tidied your references up a bit so that they appear only once in the reflist, but with links to the relevant text. Thanks TheRetroGuy (talk) 12:41, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Lj tazer! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 254 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Miles Ross (producer) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Keisha Jackson - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Curtis Robertson Jr has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unref blp after 5 years

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
