Did a SPA Just Remove the Sentence You Recently Added to Ansys?

[edit]

@LizardJr8 Two weeks ago, you responded to a COI request I submitted for Ansys. (To recap: A single-purpose account appears to have made "undue weight" edits.) I'm sorry to report that another seeming SPA (BarisTulip) just removed the entire sentence you added. Might you take a look? Indeed, as happened with the previous edit, this new edit contains a misleading "edit summary" ("Updated wording to better reflect factual info").

Also, while we're on the subject — if you have the time — might you take a look at the follow-up requests I posted to Ansys's "Talk" page on 3/18? Thank you very much. Signed, BlueRoses13 (talk) 16:19, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, I dunno. I don't see evidence of bad faith in the reversion and I'm not inclined to do much more. It's out of the lede, at least. LizardJr8 (talk) 23:27, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your speedy reply. Since you didn’t close the COI request — thank you for that, by the way — I think I may change the request so it's not a direct reply to you but instead a new submission to the community. Thanks again for your consideration; I respect your judgment. Signed, BlueRoses13 (talk) 13:30, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Matt the wiki master

[edit]

LizardJr8 You left a comment on my talk page about not adding a citation to Tom Brady. I understand I need to have a citation but I didn't know at the time. I also don't know how to add a citation. If you can tell me how to add citations it would be greatly appreciated. Matt the wiki master (talk) 16:35, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, you can see it at WP:Citing_sources. You just need to put the details in between "ref" tags as shown there, with the web address, title, date and so on. Or a book or newspaper or other publication if it is not online. I hope that helps! LizardJr8 (talk) 16:54, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, LizardJr8 Have you ever been uploaded Daniel Wallace "The Art of gen:Lock" book published by Viz Media LLC to Internet Archive (archive.org)? Internet Archive is a digital library for digitized old and new archives like videos, photos, books, etc. Yuliadhi (talk) 08:47, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on the Barton Paul Levenson Page. He is among the Pittsburgh and Upstate New York writers I edit on Wikipedia. Can you possibly mark the page for vandalism so it can be locked down for a bit?

Thanks ~~The Botendaddy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Botendaddy (talkcontribs) 23:43, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I lost internet connection for a couple of days so I just saw this. I can't change page protections (you need an Admin for that) but if there is persistent vandalism you can report it at WP:RPP. LizardJr8 (talk) 21:59, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Would you be able to assist me in removing the false arrest report on Vito LoGrasso’s page. It has nothing to do with any info on the page, there were no charges and was legally removed. Someone linked it with a way back apparently — Preceding unsigned comment added by NoelLoGrasso (talkcontribs) 01:24, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@NoelLoGrasso I removed it as there is no indication this is even the same person so it is not a reliable source for the article. LizardJr8 (talk) 01:34, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @LizardJr8, thanks for patrolling edits and reverting vandalism! I wonder if you are interested in our ongoing study for recent change patrollers. The study aims to evaluate AI models that power recent change filters, Huggle, SWViewer, and many other anti-vandal tools. Your feedback can be really helpful! If you're interested, please check out our recruitment page for more information. Thank you for your consideration! Tzusheng (talk) 01:38, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure I want to add that. It needs some more investigation and publishing in reliable sources. The CBC coverage [1] only says that it "appears" to be from him, and neither he nor his office have commented. LizardJr8 (talk) 17:45, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lizard is Vandalizing

[edit]

You vandalize and desecration of the name of our holy cathedral by putting in the words mosque/mezquita. It is a Cathedral and is owned by the Church of Rome. Only Catholics pray in it, it's not a mosque anymore so we should not have the word "mosque" in it's name Tonyk2001 (talk) 23:09, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's just, like, your opinion, dude. Seriously though, it's a sourced article and the building appears to have a vast history that is reflected in the article title and contents. As I said, you can take it to the talk page for consensus. LizardJr8 (talk) 23:12, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chick-fil-A is homophonic!

[edit]

@LizardJr8: It is not vandalism at all! Chick-fil-A is a homophone of "Chick filet". 2600:4040:2DBF:DC00:7C9C:8A86:6C7F:4AE2 (talk) 22:15, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The intent is not clear and makes very little sense unless expanded upon (with sources). So not vandalism, but not particularly constructive. It would make more sense to put this in the Chick-Fil-A article about the chain's name, rather than the LGBT article. LizardJr8 (talk) 22:20, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

P-P fusion

[edit]

I'm just curious because I was under the impression that no one here knew this. How did you determine that during P-P fusion the protons almost always repel each other after fusing and very rarely stick together long enough for the helium 2 to decay into deuterium? If you would like to talk I can tell you approximately how many times that occurs before the decay takes place into deuterium. Sarmat Warren (talk) 04:21, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IPs Vandalizing

[edit]

The IPs of 41.36.114.242 and 154.177.128.141 have that same pattern of "a random person is vandalizing; does this place even exist?". If they continue (more IPs I mean), could you please fill out an SPI? I'm running short on time and they are still switching IPs and vandalizing. Thanks. Help with Şehzade Bayezid

[edit]

Hello I need some possible anti-vandalism help with Şehzade Bayezid. There seems to be continuous edits to dates and numbers in the article. I am having trouble figuring out the last good version. It might not be even this year. There also seems to be copyvio issues with one users edits. The latest edits set off some filters. Could you please take a look? Thanks in advance! Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 22:34, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Classicwiki: It's a tough one. The MaterialScientist version from 8 December 2023 is probably good, but I don't really have anything to override the interim edits. Sira Aspera seems to be watching it. I'll keep an eye on it. LizardJr8 (talk) 00:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We Need To Fix Token's (rapper) Page and STOP Letting Vandals Ruin And Tarnish His Image, No Matter If It Is For Jokes Or Not.

[edit]

go check his page again. someone removed some of my vital information talking about how he was recognized in his early life (you didn't remove it, although i know you have far more power than me to change things) - and some little kid keeps saying his first freestyle was to "party in the usa" by Miley Cyrus which is mentioned NOWHERE in the source yet somehow stays up...whereas all of the positive and correct information i provide according to the sources and citations is REMOVED INSTANTLY. this is getting annoying and i need help figuring it out so we can keep Wiki (and god forbid the internet) a safe, respectful and most importantly; ACCURATE place.

thank you and i apologize for my upsettedness - however this vandal will not stop making people look bad on the daily and something needs to be done about them.

and i do not have the power nor knowledge to figure out who or what it is (if its just a bot mis-correcting things). Txmplate (talk) 10:44, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've been traveling out of the country so just saw this. Your edits seem to be remaining on the page at this time, so maybe the problem has passed. Croatian army- largerly unsourced articles

[edit]

Hi! About the note you left on the page of the Croatian Army. Now most of the general info i took of from offical website of croatian armed forves and entirety of the used material is in one article which i referenced. So my question, why did you flag it unsourced? Best regards Persian Meowth (talk) 03:42, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the paragraphs have no source indicated (although I guess you mean that the single source covers it all). More secondary sources would be better, i.e. journals or other info. But go ahead and remove the tag if you want. LizardJr8 (talk) 13:23, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If they have a Wikipedia page, they are notable, so you just have to put their names in double square brackets to link it. Alternatively, you could find a reliable source like a news website where it says they went to the school, and add a reference to it: see Help:Referencing_for_beginners. Reversion of material at Menai SuspensionBridge

[edit]

I noticed that recently you had reason to repeatedly revert material introduced by an IP regarding a suicide at Menai Suspension Bridge. The story as reported intrigued me so I looked it up on-line and the events described largely seemed correct but as you noted, they had not been referenced - though some of the story elements could be e.g. through a BBC report. I did note that other suicides had taken place here, regrettably something which is likely to be the case with other similar structures. I wondered with your experience if you're aware of WP guidance on how we handle the inclusion (or not) of these matters in articles? thanks Geopersona (talk) 15:22, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The first thing would be whether or not there are secondary reliable sources covering one or more of these tragic events. And then, how notable it is and whether it is makes sense to include -- is there a pattern that has been written about, for example, or has it led to any public policy action (like fences, nets, mental health resources, etc.). And there should be respect for the privacy of non-public individuals with respect to their names and circumstances. LizardJr8 (talk) 19:11, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why

Did you revert here? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pump_Court&diff=next&oldid=1253441521

You would have to find a published source like a newspaper or book. Personal knowledge is not verifiable. See WP:RS. LizardJr8 (talk) 16:50, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
