Information icon Hello, I'm Dan56. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fingerprince, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The Residents

[edit]

While new page patrolling came across a couple of articles by you on Residents recordings. The both seem pretty obscure to me and I am not entirely convinced that the quality of the references are enough to establish notability. However, given the status of the Residents, I'm sure there is something out there; print sources may have to be found.TheLongTone (talk) 14:33, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Santa Dog EP, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Double Shot (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:28, 4 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Peter Conheim for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Peter Conheim, to which you have significantly contributed, is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or if it should be deleted.

The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Conheim until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

To customise your preferences for automated AfD notifications for articles to which you've significantly contributed (or to opt-out entirely), please visit the configuration page. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:01, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong style, too many song covers, editing logged out

[edit]

I have been removing a bunch of stuff you added. I see three problem areas with your work here:

Style
  • You continue to add very strange stylings to album names and song names. You double up Twitter URLs to serve as tweet titles. The music stuff is simple: albums are in italics, and songs are in quotes. For instance, one would write "Beat It", the song by Michael Jackson, or his album Bad. Film names are also in italics.
Song covers
  • You keep adding lots of song covers to legacy sections. Wikipedia's guideline for that is WP:SONGCOVER, which sets a high bar to inclusion. Just existing is not enough; the song cover should be described by third party media sources as important or noteworthy. Or the cover version can be listed if it charts.
Logged out editing

There's other stuff, for instance adding poor sourcing based on other wikis, but these are the top three problems I see. Binksternet (talk) 20:09, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't use fansites as a source

[edit]

Hello. Please avoid using fansites like Brownbase, a user-compiled fansite, as a source. A list of tour dates is rarely so relevant it belongs on an album article anyway. Thank you. Ss112 21:19, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple editing issues

[edit]

Stop icon Hi Lisadoop. I see a few other veteran editors have approached you in the past, so I just want to reiterate some things that were said.

Please do not use WP:USERG sites, like the IMDB, or fan sites, like huboon.com, as references for Wikipedia. These are not reliable sources. There is an exhaustive list of acceptable and unacceptable sources, as well as information on the types of sites to be wary of, that you can view at WP:RSP.

Also, please be conscious of stylistic choices for creative works. For example, titles of films, albums and books are always italicized, while song titles are in quotation marks. See MOS:TITLE for more.

Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, as mentioned explicitly in WP:INDISCRIMINATE. You can peruse the rest of that article at WP:NOT to see other things that are generally excluded or not advised to be included in Wikipedia. For instance, lengthy lists of tour dates for non notable tours by less popular music artists are generally not something suitable for Wikipedia, especially when sourced from fan sites like huboon.com, and the information you add may be challenged and/or removed. See WP:NTOUR for more.

Finally, don't be afraid to ask another editor for help when editing. You can approach them on their talk page or, for music topics, a page like WT:ALBUMS is a good place to ask questions and get feedback from other editors who are part of WikiProject Albums.

Thanks. —The Keymaster (talk) 03:48, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
