Speedy deletion nomination of Ashley Sutton
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ashley Sutton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 03:08, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Just a little remark: if are you in any way associated with the subject of the article (and just googling your username + the above name gives results), it would be better if you disclose a conflict of interest....Lectonar (talk) 11:40, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
how do I disclose it?LisaAnnUF (talk) 13:14, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Well, just do it here, on the talk-page...but be aware that your edits to an article about a subject with whom you are acquainted or even paid by will be more scrutinized by others. It is not forbidden to edit with a COI, but naturally it makes editing in a neutral way when talking about the subject much more difficult. I would say: if you are really interested in Wikipedia, and not just getting an article about Ms. Sutton written here.....stick around a bit, learn the ropes, edit here and there, watch the interactions and the dynamics. The welcome above includes almost every information you need. And if Ms. Suttons career takes a flight in some years, come back and look if there is not already an article about her here. Regards. I am the mother of Ashley, and I wanted to post an article of factual information however I find it ironic that Wiki would prefer someone of no knowledge of a person to post versus someone that does. Thank you for your time. LisaAnnUF (talk) 13:45, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Well ,then you might not be aware of what Wikipedia is: an encyclopedia, not a social networking site or such. As I said: all the info has been provided. Lectonar (talk) 13:59, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
thank you for the dummy down tone, yes I am quite aware of what Wikipedia is. And thank you for making it very easy to chose NOT to use it. Please delete my account. Have a great day!LisaAnnUF (talk) 14:46, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Well, your comments made me think otherwise. And I can virtually hear the door banging while you leave the room...as it is, you have been given well-meaning and ample advice, and it is your choice if you want to accept it or not; deleting your account is, alas, not possible, see here. Cheers. Lectonar (talk) 17:17, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
My daughter has an IMDb listing; so do I. That doesn't make either of us notable enough to have articles about us in an encyclopedia. Just sayin'.... --Orange Mike | Talk 21:25, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for all information provided. LisaAnnUF (talk) 23:13, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
