Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Ingrid Bergman

[edit]

After some conversation and a thank you to Admin Hoary, I also wanted to thank you for bringing this situation to the attention of others, at the Teahouse. I think Annenaim81 was working in good faith, but many/most of the additions were not suitable for WP. (Just now, I noticed the warnings on their talkpage, for copyvio, etc., oh, dear!) You are to be commended for seeing the problem, and seeking assistance. Thanks so much for helping WP. Best wishes, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 04:49, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tribe of Tiger: Thank you! I also noticed all the warnings, but some of the edit summaries reveal that they were making an attempt (quite inadequate, but quite sincere too) to avoid plagiarism. Thank you as well for your excellent work, and I hope you have a fine day. Lightcaller (talk) 05:12, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You have made good observations, in regards to their edit summaries. Thank you. I have been going through their edits, and trying to re-add info. I feel very badly for them, as I can see that their intentions are good. Their ability to write in English is not a deal-breaker, by any means. I have copyedited a lot of “English as a second language”, and really enjoyed helping non-native speakers. Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 23:21, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Film Star Flooring

[edit]

In regards to your talkpage post of 23 October, at Ingrid Bergman about the flooring source...my imagination went into overdrive....

Film Star Flooring

[edit]
  • Ingrid Bergman...Nordic freshness and vitality.
  • Winslet/DiCaprio...Resists water damage, including salt water.
  • Sigourney Weaver...Withstands heavy items, from gorillas to avatars, plus high-tech Alien acids.
  • Schwarzenegger...Nothing can kill it, it will "be back".
  • Matrix...Simulated reality appearance, bullet resistant.
  • Bogart...Resists damage from cigarette burns and liquor spills.

All profits to benefit Wikipedia, of course! Heh, heh! A bit of fun! Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 04:31, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hah! Perhaps the Daniel Radcliffe? “Made from very rare wood, possibly magical, beautiful lightning-bolt pattern, might turn you into a tree.” Or the Luke Skywalker? “Specially designed to exert pressure on your feet at all times, ensuring that the force will always be with you.” Lightcaller (talk) 13:56, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Very good, very good indeed! Your suggestions are wonderful! We have a business plan, just need to consider which flooring is appropriate for certain rooms, and market to the right people. Movie-style mobsters might favor Schwarzenegger or Matrix. Pubs and bars would love Bogart. Sigourney Weaver, perfect for the garage. Meditation and children's rooms- D.Radcliffe. International Space Station- Skywalker, of course! Indoor pool areas and saunas would benefit from Bergman or Winslet/DiCaprio. What about Gandalf, as home-protection..."You shall not pass!"? A home full of Skywalker with Gandalf at the doors, would suit most people. Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 03:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Terribly sorry for the delay; I’ve been rather busy the past few days. In all seriousness film star flooring would probably make bundles of money. An entire house floored with Gandalf would be interesting- people being flung violently back whenever they tried to exit a room. Lightcaller (talk) 04:23, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you made me laugh...bathroom to hall, Bammm! Kitchen to dining room, Bamm! So we need to provide a device to allow safe passage, perhaps a ring, to be worn on a finger, or around the neck, on a chain. We can call it "Precious". Gosh, no need to apologize for a delay! Thanks for indulging me in this bit of imaginative silliness. Thanks so much for the fun, especially in these difficult times. I think you are the light that is called to illuminate the darkness. Best wishes to you, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 06:40, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Marlon James (novelist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Locus. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
