Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Lewys G, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:
You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.
Just having a quick look at your contributions so far, it seems you are focused on providing information on what song was number 1 when another was at 2. This can sometimes be interesting, but does not belong in every article (like Lionel Ritchie), not in the lede, or breaking sentences already written.
Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or , and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome! Doctorhawkes (talk) 23:03, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Darren-M. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Chi Mai seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Darren-M talk 17:55, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) – Darren-M is right. We do not say in Wikipedia's voice what is sad, unfortunate, whatever. Please have a look at MOS:OPED and other stuff around that area – it is massively wrong for an encyclopaedia to make comments like that. Thanks. DBaK (talk) 18:40, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Chicken Dance. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. CLCStudent (talk) 18:50, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. I know I sent you a funny message about "Temptation" but actually as I have followed your edits I have become a bit concerned. I am not sure that Wikipedia needs a crusade to record every No. 1 hit that kept out a No. 2. In addition I am worried that some of your edits either don't explain clearly what you are saying (in fact that Temptation edit is an example of this) or you use a form of language that I find uncomfortable for an encyclopaedia – quite a lot of slightly cutesy or journalese-sounding formulae like "blocked it from getting there" or stuff about keeping it off the "summit" etc. This is not encyclopaedic writing, and we don't do it.
Now, I am no-one here and it doesn't matter what I think but sooner or later you are going to encounter another editor or a project who is not keen on what you are doing and has some influence – indeed I see that is already starting now. My advice is to STOP, take stock of where you are, and seek help – maybe in a music Wikiproject or maybe at the excellent WP:TEAHOUSE where new users can discuss all sorts of stuff. But at the moment, if you just carry on like this, I fear that it will end in grief. I really hope that this helps. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 19:16, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- AND YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN while I was typing – seriously, DO NOT include your opinion. It is literally and in the nicest possible way not welcome here! Please be told – this is becoming serious. You have been told, so please don't be surprised if you get edits reverted without discussion (like I just did) or if it leads to consequences. Really. DBaK (talk) 19:18, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did on No Doubt About It (Hot Chocolate song). This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
In addition, it makes no sense at all to say that a song "blocked" another song or "took [another song] off the chart" – songs can't make decisions or perform actions. bonadea contributions talk 19:54, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello User:Lewys G. Can you please explain what you're doing, e.g. here? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:09, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
The Cat Crept In (Mud song) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, The Cat Crept In (Mud song), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
