Thank you so much!
Hello, I'm Hatto0467 from Japan.
I knew that you edited the article about Japanese rock band Band-Maid studio albums.
I'm a fan of them. I'm so glad that you edit their article.
When I see your user page, I knew that you were from Italy.
By the way, they performed in 2016 Lucca Comics & Games[1].
If you are no problem, would you create Band-Maid article in Italian wikipedia?
--Hatto0467 (talk) 02:13, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- I discovered the band only recently and I like their music very much. I guess that an article for the Italian Wiki is a necessary step for their 'world domination', isn't it? I'll see what I can do. Lewismaster (talk) 11:04, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- 'world domination', Yes! If you create Band-Maid article in Italian wiki, it's a 'big welcome' because I hope that their article is created in not only Italian wiki but also many languages. --Hatto0467 (talk) 11:48, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- Today, I created Band-Maid article in Italian wikipedia but I wrote it in the short article because I can't speak Italian language. Please improve and expand Italian Band-Maid article if you don't have a trouble. --Hatto0467 (talk) 12:52, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- I wrote the article, but I had no time to edit and reference it. It will be on line very soon. Lewismaster (talk) 13:27, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Double Live Assassins, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chronicles of Chaos (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi Lewis, I don't suppose you've got any more sources to help out with getting this to GA? It's not in too bad a shape at the moment, but for a far more important album than the proceeding three, it should really be at least the same sort of length in prose. In particular, I'm missing any source confirming the release date, and what the contemporary critical reception was towards the album. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 08:55, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Ritchie, as you may have noticed, I am not as active as before on Wikipedia. 8 hours of smart working fixing a screen can do that. I have been thinking about tackling the In Rock article a few times, but never had the drive. More than a year ago, I started In Concerto and left the article in its initial stages. I just don't have the time and patience to keep after the everchanging policies of Wikipedia and the rush of younger people in polls and discussions.
- The booklet for the Anniversary edition of the album was written by Simon Robinson and has reproductions of many articles from the time. On one article it is reported that the album and the single "Black Night" would be released simultaneously on 5 June 1970. The album charted in the UK on June 20, so the date of release could be correct.
- In the same booklet there are reproductions of the following:[2]
- a review by Richard Green on NME.
- a four stars review from Disc and Music Echo of 13 June 1970 [3]
- a review signed R.C.from an unidentified magazine [also on http://www.deep-purple.net/review-files/68-76/68-76mk2a.htm]
- an unidentified negative review.
- Thompson's book has no information on the album and the reviews reported there are about live shows and not the album itself.
- I hope this could be useful for your work. Take care. Lewismaster (talk) 18:23, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- I think "R.C." is Record Mirror's Rodney Collins, who's also a pirate radio DJ. As to you other comments, I've taken several sabbaticals from Wikipedia but ultimately I recharge my batteries and come back ready to do some more writing. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:02, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Massacre Records video albums
A tag has been placed on Category:Massacre Records video albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Machine Head
Hi Lewismaster. Can you explain your thinking here: [4], when you reverted my edit on Machine Head? I don't understand why you wish to jump the chronology - it is established that the album infobox chronology includes all official releases not just studio albums, and there have been several discussions on this point. I know you left an edit summary: "Chronology is organized in studio, live and compilation albums. Change all or change nothing", however I'm not quite parsing it. Did you mean there should be a separate chronology for live albums? If so, then that occurs on the live album article: Made in Japan (Deep Purple album). Having said that, I am just aware that there was a local discussion recently [5] which went in favour of simply having a single chronology instead of separating certain albums into different chronologies. I'm actually in favour of that, though that consensus has not yet fed through to standard use, so people are still creating separate chronologies, and I'm happy to do it either way (though my preference would be to follow the consensus of that discussion). If you were to have an objection, surely it would be to the separate chronologies on Made in Japan (Deep Purple album) than the otherwise quite standard chronology on Machine Head. SilkTork (talk) 12:08, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Dear SilkTork, I have been away from the many discussions on Wikipedia for a couple of years now for other concerns regarding my health and my work and I am not synchronized with the latest updates. A usual, I see that the debate is always on, changing decisions taken years before on the whim of the moment. I don't miss all that very much. But I digress... I worked extensively on Deep Purple chronologies in 2014, when it was decided that it would have been better to separate huge discographies made up of dozens of studio, live and compilation albums in distinct chronologies. Deep Purple have articles on Wikipedia for 21 studio albums, 31 live albums and 23 compilation albums. What I was suggesting by reverting your edits is not that they are illegitimate, but that they are limited to the tip of the iceberg. I think that, if you want to format all Deep Purple albums to one chronology, you shuold do it for all 75 albums, not just for 2. Lewismaster (talk) 17:07, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- I think I understand your thinking. I am looking into Deep Purple at the moment, and listening to their albums chronologically, so it is likely I will get around to sorting out the infobox chronology of the other albums as I go along. However, if you feel it is imperative that the chronology is done all at the same time (and I have no problem with that, and understand the desire for neatness), then please feel free to take up the baton and finish the work yourself. If you are comfortable to leave it to me, be aware that I may not get to the end of the albums - such is the erratic nature of us part-time volunteers :-) - though I would have no problem with either you completing the task yourself, or you nudging me in a month's time to ask me to complete the task. Keep well. SilkTork (talk) 17:22, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- I confess that I have no interest in undoing what I did in 2014 and I gladly leave it to you. Bear in mind that the rationale behind using multiple chronology was to ease the navigation between fairly important and developed articles (usually studio albums) and the many stubs present in such huge discographies. - Cool. I confess I have enjoyed re-listening to Machine Head. It was an album I dismissed at the time, largely I suppose, because I had enjoyed In Rock so much, and then been dismayed by Fireball, so was set up to be again disappointed by Machine Head - which I was, as I felt the band hadn't developed since In Rock, and were essentially just repeating themselves. I still much prefer In Rock, and feel that much of the acclaim accorded to Machine Head is due to the presence on that album of the legendary Smoke, but I have now got a greater respect for it than I did back in my teens! SilkTork (talk) 17:48, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- I think that my first Deep Purple album was Perfect Strangers in the 80s, but I was not a fan. I actually never listened to a large part of their material, but I enjoy reading stories and biographies about musicians and so I ended up writing the articles about the first three DP albums. I love some of their recent albums such as Purpendicular and Now What?!. Lewismaster (talk) 18:00, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- I stopped listening to them after Machine Head, so I have Perfect Strangers and those recent albums to look forward to (if I get that far!). Listening to Made In Japan right now and enjoying it. Very Seventies, including the obligatory drum solo! SilkTork (talk) 07:40, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

- I confess that I have no interest in undoing what I did in 2014 and I gladly leave it to you. Bear in mind that the rationale behind using multiple chronology was to ease the navigation between fairly important and developed articles (usually studio albums) and the many stubs present in such huge discographies. Have fun. Lewismaster (talk) 17:41, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Among the Living - Difference between revisions
Undid revision 1017462693 by Uncle slam (talk) the source says "We tested out "I Am the Law" and "Indians" on tour, and they both went over well, so they made the cut early". That's Scott Ian writing)
The quote from Ian doesn't change the fact that Indians was not played live until March 1987, eight months after I Am the Law was debuted. The setlists are a matter of record.
- The text in the article was changed to take care of this fact. Lewismaster (talk) 16:06, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Where on this does it say that the review is provided by fixed staff? Sikonmina (talk) 18:37, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- In the FAQ it is written "For the purpose of consistency we have decided that CD reviews will only be written by members of the DPRP team" Lewismaster (talk) 19:06, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- But
. So if a review exists, it's still WP:UGC nor is it reliable. Sikonmina (talk) 19:47, 24 January 2022 (UTC)The new album by popular band X has not been reviewed on DPRP. Why not?
...
In a nutshell, unless we get a (promotional) copy from a band or label OR the concerned band is a personal favourite of a team member, the CD will not be reviewed.- I disagree. DPRP is not a platform for any user to add every kind of content or review. Sputnikmusic is such a website, where any registered user can add his own review of a record. Just like any other reliable music magazine or webzine, apparently on DPRP only a small number of people work on the publication of content. The writers review what they receive and have some knowledge about. Regarding Invisible Circles, the reviews were round table ones, not relying on just one opinion. In fact, the reviewers' opinions were divergent. The other references are about a band interview and the date of a concert. I can't see how they can be considered unreliable. If we cannot use as sources the huge amount of interviews released by artists to websites all over the world, a large part of wiki articles about music would lose most of their content. Lewismaster (talk) 21:46, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

to be reliable Sikonmina (talk) 03:44, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- No, they are not reliable sources. The content is completely user-generated and there is very little editorial guidance. There are plenty of discussions on Wikipedia about reliable sources, if you have the patience of reading them. Lewismaster (talk) 09:29, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
The file File:Balls to the wall.ogg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Portion of Balls to the Wall (song) heard in sample not proven contextually significant to the whole song and to the whole album of the same name. Easily conveyed in text.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Hitparade Italia
Hi Lewismaster. I see you're adding chart positions from this website, but please be aware it's one of the websites to avoid (WP:CHARTS#Websites to avoid). Perhaps you could undo your edits, because you can't be sure other editors will see the additions and remove them. Thanks, JG66 (talk) 10:36, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- I see. I'm puzzled by the large use of the same database in many, and I mean many, articles on Wikipedia. Lewismaster (talk) 10:46, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I remember editors purging it from article to article, not so long ago. You might want to look in the archived talk pages for the Charts project linked above – there should be more detailed reasoning there. I don't think I was anything to do with the decision, just pointing it out to you now before you added them en masse. I'd like to see Italy (and France) given a presence in song and album articles from this period, but if the information only comes from a hobbyist website and their methodology isn't clear, I guess it's not reliable or accurate. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Blue Oyster Cult 1988.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Blue Oyster Cult 1988.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Formatting is not respecting current MOS"
This is just blatantly incorrect. I think you need to read the current MOS, specifically MOS:TABLECAPTION. All tables on Wikipedia require captions now per an RfC in 2020 (see Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Accessibility/Archive 15#RfC on table captions) and WP:ACCESSIBILITY, which is a Wikimedia policy and a Wikipedia guideline. They also should have scope="col" for column headers to delineate what are columns for those who use screen readers (see MOS:DTT)—removing captions and scopes makes Wikipedia less accessible to visually impaired readers who make use of them. Third-level headings should typically follow second-level headings; headings should not be bolded with semicolons per WP:PSEUDOHEAD. Delinking common terms is part of our MoS and is at WP:OVERLINKING. So yes, that formatting absolutely does respect our current MOS. I'm not sure how you think my edit was not in line with our Manual of Style. Ss112 19:28, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- I understand that the MOS has changed from the my time as a full-time editor. I have been scolded more than once in the past for adding captions and capital letters or changing headings, like you did. Those things have apparently become canon now, which is fine for me.
