Use cite template
[edit]Hi @Lemonademan22. Please do not simply add bare URLs. These are lazy references and subject to linkrot. Templates such as {{cite web}} and {{cite news}} should be used. 183.171.123.86 (talk) 17:41, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kalebcooperwalking.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Kalebcooperwalking.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://www.alamy.com/kaleb-cooper-at-the-big-feastival-2022-on-alex-james-cotswolds-farm-kingham-oxfordshire-photo-by-joshua-james-image480389964.html?imageid=3ECD9B10-4660-4386-9F44-2B1801C71B71&p=1948632&pn=1&searchId=5c4ee5f350baa277f77758c820733413&searchtype=0 and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 16:02, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Lemonademan22! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's elegibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:02, 9 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]- Can you make me into an admin? I have info with sources in the last "talk" comment suggestion in Rhea Ripley's page BJavierPR (talk) 00:05, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I do apologise for the very late reply. But I myself am not an admin and I do not even have the requirements to be one so I cannot make you an admin. Apologies for the incovenience and late reply. I do recommend talking to the editors that you see edit all the articles. Maybe they are admins? Hope this helps! Lemonademan22 (talk) 23:13, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:KipSabianJan2024.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:KipSabianJan2024.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:32, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

Can we block people?
[edit]Can we not block people from editing? I hate it when they change things based on their imagination. BJavierPR (talk) 22:35, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'm going to need you to be more specific here. Which article are you referring to and are your referring to me or another editor? Lemonademan22 (talk) 21:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
