Question

Hey, sorry... I have a quick question. For a tour article, where do you think this information belongs in? I was thinking a brief mentioning in "Development" would be good, but, since there is no other information about personnel in the section, I have no idea what to do with it. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 01:28, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't think it fits entirely in the development section. Seems like this was controversial enough and might have enough coverage to warranty a separate section. The MTV article clearly indicates such questioning of why the double was used. Hope this helps. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:06, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
I think its own section is too much. It can clearly be stated in two sentences. Thank you. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 20:00, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I must say, this is some amazing work. Great job man! nding·start 00:00, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

My pleasure. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:53, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm sleepy now, and I have ACT in the morning, but when all that is done, we will discuss this issue on the template talk page, just to give you the heads up. I Help, When I Can. [12] 04:11, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

OK. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:29, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Sandbox

Really? I thought File:Example.ogg can be used in sandboxes :O Btw, "Born This Way (song)" looks amazing!! Novice7 (talk) 05:59, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Is that what you had used? My bad then, I thought you had forgotten to hide the original sample. And thanks for "BTW". Now the album article... — Legolas (talk2me) 06:03, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I use Example.ogg. It's okay :) Wow, the album article is gonna be big!! Novice7 (talk) 06:11, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Not that huge at present, since Gaga is still not talking fully about the development. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:17, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, sorry. I forgot to reply :D Yes, not that huge at the moment, but IPs may constantly disrupt the article when the release date draws near. (The message below, isn't it a violation of WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK? I can see that the user posted on Andrew's and Hashim's talk pages too.) Novice7 (talk) 13:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
IPs are having me to deal with right now, the last thing they want. If I get stubborn, god forbid them. (The message below is fine, don't take WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK too seriously, that's mainly for the tal pages.)Legolas (talk2me) 14:12, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Lol, yes. Btw, I have a question: What does WP:POV really mean? I mean, not NPOV, just POV. Can you explain briefly? (I thought it was for user talk pages too. As Christopher said, your talk page is where everybody shares their thoughts :D (positively). Thank you Legolas 8)) Novice7 (talk) 14:23, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
For eg: I feel that "Born This Way" is not that catchy a song, and I believed it would have been thoroughly unsuccessful. Now this is what I think and my opinion. However, reliable sources thoroughly disagree with my assertion and "Born This Way" is indeed one of the year's biggest hits. Hence my opinion here is WP:POV, which comes into account when users add their opinion about something to an article, not backed by sources or any reason for it. We usually revvert such edits. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:29, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much for explaining. Can you help me with this: How can I paraphrase the sentence in italics? "Two mixes of 'Irresistible' prove that anything is better than the track's formulaic album version (Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Remix features a foolproof sample of Kool & the Gang's "Jungle Boogie" while Hex Hector's mix includes soulful ornamental vocals and Giorgio Moroder-style disco strings)." Novice7 (talk) 14:37, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Also, why is this damn image being used in more than one song article? That's not even relevant to any of those songs. About the paraphrasing: The Hex Hector remix of the song uses full-throated vocals by Simpson, and also includes disco influenced string arrangement, which is comparable to the musical style of Giorgio Moroder. Clear? — Legolas (talk2me) 14:42, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Wow, I didn't see that. I'll remove it right away. Thank you for explaining, can I have your permission to use it on the article? Novice7 (talk) 14:44, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Cmon Maghu, of course you can use it. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:49, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much 8) Novice7 (talk) 14:50, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello again Legolas! I have a little favor to ask of you. Do you have access to Melody Maker and Q magazine? If so, can you give me the date of the issues with Melody Maker – Singles of the Year (2000) and Q's 1001 Best Songs Ever (2003). Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 16:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

I know only Q, and that wsan't a date-ed release, it was a separate release in Mrch 2003. Hence you won't find any single date with it. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:29, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I'll just add that it was the issue of March 2003. And, I saw your message to Womanizer (I watch his page :D). We had a discussion before regarding that issue :( The articles are really short. Novice7 (talk) 06:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Ya even I would like to know why Womanizer hasn't protested the creation of these dwarf articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:48, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
If I'm correct, he did protest. He tried to redirect them, but... Btw, thank you for fixing the certifications of "Spinning Around" Legolas. Does your Kylie bio say anything about Live performances/music video/composition of the song? Novice7 (talk) 06:54, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
then what happened? It should have been nominated for deletion. Yes, it does say about the song. Shall I add it? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:55, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Well, they just recreated it. Womanizer and I tried so hard to explain the consequence to them, but in vain. Wow, the book really has info? Great! Please go ahead and add it, and if you're free, can you c/e the article upto Chart performance. I know the prose is really really bad. I started working on it yesterday. Novice7 (talk) 06:59, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much for adding all those and helping me out :) The book, it's okay :) Novice7 (talk) 09:49, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Still I feel bad, I don't like to break my promises. :( — Legolas (talk2me) 09:51, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Don't feel bad Legolas :) We can add that information later. Btw, did the flickr people reply back/change the license?? I'm guessing no, lol. It seems like they don't like to change the license :| Novice7 (talk) 09:56, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
LMAO, Nekesa Mumbi mody is such a B****. Didnt even bother to reply. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Lol, I guessed that :D Did the others reply? The asterix guy didn't reply :/ Novice7 (talk) 10:08, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
And they said no, asterix said that one of his pics was misused in WP. He doesnot trust it. :( Can you keep an eye on The Monster Ball Tour? Itsbydesign is going on doing the crap reverts chaning sourced city names to local names. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:38, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Watchlisted MBT. Misused? I don't remember seeing any of his pics on Wikipedia :O Novice7 (talk)
Maybe it was misused and then deleted by admins? Nevertheless, he's not going to take chance is he. Hey can you help me with one thing? Its a little big thing. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:46, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Of course. What is it? Novice7 (talk) 11:05, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I need to archive links from this. Can you help me out by starting from the top and archiving at least the first 30? It will be a real big help. — Legolas (talk2me) 11:20, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm on it :) Novice7 (talk) 11:33, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

(→) Done! Upto Ref 65. I didn't archive the Billboard refs as the paid Billboard website usually works. Should I archive that too? And, shall I add the archived links? Novice7 (talk) 12:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

OMG, thanks a dime! No need to add them. Again, a real help dude. PS: I had egg dosa today :P — Legolas (talk2me) 12:14, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
You're welcome :) Oh, I'll save them on a separate folder. Really? We don't eat eggs (but cakes :D) I had puttu today :D Novice7 (talk) 12:21, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I love puttu. My best Malayali dish is Min Morli. Do you know that? And you can save the links at User:Legolas2186/reviews. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 12:49, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Omg, you love puttu too? Hmm.. did you mean Meen Moli (Eng: Fish Moli)? I've heard my friends say about it and have seen it too. And, shall I create a table and paste the links? Novice7 (talk) 12:56, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Ya that dish. I am bad at Malayali. :( And yes, if its not that much a headache for you, a table would be nice. But I don't want it to be a overburden for you. — Legolas (talk2me) 13:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Got it! I'll start in just a moment. Novice7 (talk) 13:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you and bless ya soul! :P — Legolas (talk2me) 13:04, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you too :D I've created a table with the reference number and archivelink. I haven't added the original url. Hope you don't mind :) Novice7 (talk) 13:27, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Perfecto. — Legolas (talk2me) 13:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Happy to help =) Novice7 (talk) 13:38, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Have you listened to this? That music on the accordion is brilliant! — Legolas (talk2me) 13:52, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Sounds like a long lost spring... Lol, yes it is very beautiful. The whole album is gonna be great! Novice7 (talk) 13:59, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thats what is called sledge-hammering dance beats. It again made me excited for the album, which frankly was kinda lost after the title track premiered. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:10, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Request

Can you, and any (talk page stalker) who reads this add Kesha discography to their watch lists, IP's and new editors continually adding Till The World Ends to the article which has no relevance as its a remix (not a single) and Other Appearances were removed in order for the article to pass its FL criteria. Its super annoying -___- Thanks in advance bud. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:42, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Yep and done. IPs here I cometh! Hail goddess $leazremix$ha. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank yeahhh. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:49, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

It Begins....

Help please.

Hi Legolas. Please have a look at this IP's repetitive edit. He is really annoying me now. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:32, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Reverted, request immediately at WP:RFP. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:47, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Legolas. By the way, isn't it strange that "Run The World" is not charting on the UK R&B chart? Jivesh Talk2Me 16:24, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
No why? Its reception has been lukewarm only. Most of them call it a petty rehash of "Pon de Replay" (That was such a jam!) — Legolas (talk2me) 06:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Errm, I don't think Beyonce would ever re-use Rihanna's material... Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
No, they are indeed calling it a rehash of "Pon de Replay" instead of "Pon de Floor". Just goes on to show how much they know. (And here you thought I typo-ed?)Legolas (talk2me) 07:39, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
LMAO! Who's calling it a PDR redo? UK critics? And yeah, I did think you were having a mind lapse :D Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:53, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Musicjunky, lol. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:56, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Ohh-kaayy...I was surprised that when the ARIA finally put out this week's chartifacts Run the World didn't appear on the top 100 at all - not even on the Urban chart. Anyway, I'm slowly cleaning up the mess that is The Beyoncé Experience and want to know about the boxscore stuff. Is the info published in Billboard mags, so I can look em up on Google Books? Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:01, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes it is published in Billboatd as Hot Boxscore and Tours. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:15, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
"Run the World" will debut next week. "Judas" debuted this week only and it was released a week earlier than "Run the World". And one thing you should know is that Beyonce has never had immediate success (debuting at number one, etc), She is among the artists who build momentum. Jivesh Talk2Me 18:47, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
OK, so why are you up in your pole about it? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:06, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
It's nothing like that Legolas. I was just explaining it to Adabow. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:27, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Blender magazine

Is there anyway to view the old articles. Seems like they have deleted the old articles. I am looking for the review of Ultimate Kylie, btw. Novice7 (talk) 17:20, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I know mags, they deleted all of them, I can't even reproduce them with the new links. I think they are gone for good. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:24, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I guess I should remove that review :( And, when I try waybackmachine, stupid robots.txt message comes up! And, Born This Way.. I'm surely gonna buy it :D Novice7 (talk) 17:27, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
It's best to archive them manually while they are live using WebCite. Adabow (talk · contribs) 22:58, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Have tried that before for a Mimi review. It is protected by robots.txt and WebCite cannot archive it properly :( Novice7 (talk) 06:35, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Try to see if you get it on google, although I doubt that Blender digitize them. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:48, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Nah, they aren't on Google Books, but WebCite worked for me here... Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:59, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Tried webcite, ECnext, Google everything... Btw, the album's from 2004. Novice7 (talk) 07:01, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
2004? Then it's strange that it's not listed at MetaCritic - they have brief summaries of reviews. Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, Fever has an entry and so does Body Language :O Novice7 (talk) 10:11, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

There's nothing I can do about it, right? Ever since I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) was kept because of WP:GNG they are creating articles that are barely notable citing that guideline. I don't feel like doing anymore work when this kind of things happen tbh. Xwomanizerx (talk) 19:10, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 April newsletter

Round 2 of the 2011 WikiCup is over, and the new round will begin on 1 May. Note that any points scored in the interim (that is, for content promoted or reviews completed on 29-30 April) can be claimed in the next round, but please do not start updating your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. Fewer than a quarter of our original contestants remain; 32 enter round 3, and, in two months' time, only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), who led Pool F, was our round champion, with 411 points, while 7 contestants scored between 200 and 300 points. At the other end of the scale, a score of 41 was high enough to reach round 3; more than five times the score required to reach round 2, and competition will no doubt become tighter now we're approaching the later rounds. Those progressing to round 3 were spread fairly evenly across the pools; 4 progressed from each of pools A, B, E and H, while 3 progressed from both pools C and F. Pools D and G were the most successful; each had 5 contestants advancing.

This round saw our first good topic points this year; congratulations to Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Assyrian people Nergaal (submissions) who also led pool H and pool B respectively. However, there remain content types for which no points have yet been scored; featured sounds, featured portals and featured topics. In addition to prizes for leaderboard positions, the WikiCup awards other prizes; for instance, last year, a prize was awarded to Democratic Republic of the Congo Candlewicke (submissions) (who has been eliminated) for his work on In The News. For this reason, working on more unusual content could be even more rewarding than usual!

Sorry this newsletter is going out a little earlier than expected- there is a busy weekend coming up! A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 19:23, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Question...

I'm trying to get a GA re-access going for 2 Hearts. Did I do all of the right steps? I Help, When I Can. [12] 12:45, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Did you nominate the wikiprojects and the concerned editors? If so, then you are done, after listing the points which you feel hinder its status as GA. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:20, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Melanie C

Yes, she is the best Spice Girl imo, lol. I saw "Never Be the Same Again" article was in a bad state. So, I thought I should clean it up a bit :) Novice7 (talk) 15:00, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Would you like me to join the festivity? Mel C will be easy. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:01, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Of course, jump in Legolas :D Novice7 (talk) 15:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
OK i got lotsa material. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:32, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Wow, really? I looked up the sheet music, but it is the Sibelius Scorch version :( I don't know how to analyse that. Novice7 (talk) 16:48, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

While doing a search, I found this website. They allow people to download their photographs for free, but I could find no license terms. Can it be used? Novice7 (talk) 07:14, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh no non no, thts a bog copyvio website. As for the sheet music can I add it after I finish remodelling Born This Way? — Legolas (talk2me) 07:16, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Really? Wow, I'm staying out of that :D As for Mel C, take your time Legolas. I was searching for the song's background information... Does Music Week say anything? Novice7 (talk) 07:19, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
No, but youtube might help. You know how to do that without copyvio right? Fever :P — Legolas (talk2me) 07:25, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
I found three parts, and now have to hear them. They're posted by Mel's official youtube channel, is it copyvio? Novice7 (talk) 07:31, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
No thats not copyvio, but see if they were broadcast on any channel, better than linking to any youtube link. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:33, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
There are quite a few. But, of course, titles can be misleading, lol. I have to check them out. Novice7 (talk) 07:38, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

OMG a Spice-related discussion and I wasn't notified, shame on you Legolas. And Victoria will always be the best one (although she can't really sing) :D Frcm1988 (talk) 08:40, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

OOps. But then again, Posh Spice, really? She looked like she was at someone's funeral at the royal wedding. Lol, — Legolas (talk2me) 08:45, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Omg, Christopher, I was just thinking about your works on Spice articles :O Sporty Spice's music has always fascinated me :) Btw, Christopher would you help us out too? I mean, you have the 1000 UK Number Ones Book, so can you add the "Background" information of "Never Be the Same Again" when you get time? Novice7 (talk) 08:55, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Haha I know, I think she looked ok. I miss her Spice-days when she looked funnier (and not that skinny), now she is too serious and boring. And yes Novice I could help with that, I think that definately Mel C is the more versatile of the group, her second album Reason is my favorite Spice-solo album. I will try to look for the info this weekend, I have to go now, it's 4 AM!!! here. Happy editing. Frcm1988 (talk) 09:04, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
OMG y'all. I'm in love with Mel C's first album, and here y'all harp about other albums? Northern Star is brilliant. Btw Chris, I haven't forgotten "You're Still the One". :) — Legolas (talk2me) 09:20, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Northen Star is great imo. But then, Reason is good too. I'm surprised to see that "NBTSA" charted in Canada, but not the US?? Novice7 (talk) 12:22, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Duh, Billboard Hot 100 in the 2000s was dominated by R&B/Rap songs, and Po influenced tracks didnot get any chance. Only one was Madonna's "Music", I remember a Billboard article about how Virgin was re-planning the launch of Mel C after NBTSA and NS flopped on radio. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:24, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Really? So that explains why she put Lisa on the track! Atleast "I Turn to You" charted on Bubbling Under Hot 100.. Btw, "Music" is one of my fave songs :) Novice7 (talk) 12:32, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Ya it was "I Turn to You" (Hex Hector Mix) that charted on the bubbling chart I believe. That song was such a jam along with "Music", in the 2000s. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:34, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
I believe Hex Hector version topped the Dance Club charts too. Yes! "Music" – one of my all time Madge favorites!! Novice7 (talk) 12:39, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Legolas, do you subscribe to Music Week? I've been looking everywhere for something to replaces the very dodgy-looking book to source the UK R&B Chart for Single Ladies. If you do have it, could you add the relevant info for the issue that has the chart for 18 Jan 2009? Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:16, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Hey Andy, do you mind if I look for it after an hour? I'm going for an X-Ray. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:18, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Holy shit that was fast. And yeah, take your time; it's not like the article's at FAC or anything ahaha. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:21, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Could you please look up Yung Ro on Billboard.biz to see if he charted anywhere(I doubt it) and then comment on your findings at this AfD? Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:38, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Did, strangely Chammillionaire comes up, why? And I'm off to find the UK R&B issue you mentioned. But aren't you using OCC? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:58, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
They were in the same band. And TOCC only has archives fomr October 2009. Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:11, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh god, OCC fail again? — Legolas (talk2me) 07:13, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

"Never Be the Same Again": Added! I'm planning on adding the reception today evening. Novice7 (talk) 07:34, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh, *hits head and dies* I'm a fool, I didn't even check the thing in quotes. Novice7 (talk) 07:38, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh, you added it Legolas. Thank you. I wasn't online, that's why I couldn't add it. Novice7 (talk) 11:31, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
No problem Mags. Andy, its volume 32, issue 01 for it. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:45, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Btw Legolas, does Music Week list the Year End Charts of 2000? Novice7 (talk) 16:11, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
No idea mags, I don't think I have any 2000 Music Week magazine. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:39, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Hmm.. I found this website, but I don't want them to spam me. Novice7 (talk) 16:43, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
No mention of any affiliation with OCC. Certainly a copyvio and WP:OR failing website. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:56, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Ok I looked at the book and the information is very general, could be good for a background because it mention her career after the group released "Goodbye", her duet with Bryan Adams and the touring she did before the album was released, but there is no actual info about the song itself, the writing, recording or why she choose to do it with Lisa. I also check Sinclair's book, which is like the Spice-bible, but again there is not much info about the songs, perhaps a biography of Lisa like Lisa Lopes: The Life of a Supernova or other book have some info, why can Geri release two autobiographies and Mel C can even release one.(I totally forgot about "You're still the one" lol) Frcm1988 (talk) 19:21, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

  • Face palm* Exactly what I was expecting. Mel C really wants to be irrelevant does she? Lemme try and get Lisa Lopes. Then again, you migt wanna hate Geri, but damn she was an assault on UK charts! 5 consecutive number-ones man ! — Legolas (talk2me) 03:17, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Well Gaga said Ginger was her favorite so, and she only have 4, "Look At Me" peaked at two. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:07, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh for some reason I thought "Look At Me" also topped. Nevertheless, I liked her songs very much. Though Mel C is first because of Northern Star. I kinda like Emma's "What took you so Long" also. Cutesy song for baby spice. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 04:13, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I also liked Geri's first songs, they were very similar to the Spice ones because she used the same producers. She also said everything on her autobiographies, so there's info available on the development of some of her songs that I can give if one of you guys ever want to do any of her songs. I also like Emma, her voice is so sweet, she is totally underrated. She and Mel C should release autobiographies!!!!!!! Frcm1988 (talk) 04:20, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I would totally love making Geri's first era a GT, so ya I would loveeeeeee to have them. Also, last I checked, Emma kinda made herself the underrated and extinct one with bad producer choices, same for Vic B and Mel B. Geri's second era started off so good, but lost steam faster than Madonna's Hard Candy fell. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:47, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I think Emma kinda faded in the background, the others were louder about their opinions like Geri or Mel B, or have a famous husband like Vicky. But Free Me is probably one of the best Spice solos. About Geri's second album well quoting Jon O'Brien's review of Mel B's L.A. State of Mind: "The various solo Spice Girls albums have ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous. For every Northern Star, there's a Scream If You Wanna Go Faster." I don't like that album at all to be honest, most of it was totally forgeatable to me. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:31, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree. The only song I liked was "Its Raining Men" and that too because I love Bridget Jones' Diary. Then again critical acclaim was not really her repertoire wasn't it? She seems to be the most successful commercially amongst their solo careers. surprisingly, I have never heard a Mel B track, never. The woman scared me to death. She is so suitable for the role of the amazonian vampires in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Btw, I forgot to ask, how's work life suiting you? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
It's been ok, I don't love it but I don't hate it, I don't know how to call it in english, but it's like a pre-proffesional job, I mean I don't actually have a degree yet, I need to present a thesis or dissertation so I can have the degree, but in the meantime Im doing this part-time job so when I apply to a "real job" I will have some sort of experience. By the way, what do you do? what is your real-life job? Frcm1988 (talk) 06:04, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Geri's first album was good (I always thought she had a Madonna-ish voice :O) Emma's voice is cute and I love Mel B! Novice7 (talk) 06:16, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi Novice, for me I will rank her solo careers like this: Mel C---Emma---Geri---Victoria---Mel B (I have a different order for when they were in the group), I don't really like Mel B's albums, they are very generic forgettable music. Novice Im curious how old are you? I believe you were quite young when they were the biggest thing on the planet. I know Legolas is old(er) than me. :D Frcm1988 (talk) 06:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
At present I'm a programmer analyst with Google, but have worked with Accenture, HP, Billboard. And now I'm a baby, working from home while sitting on bed. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 06:41, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I was quite young back then, but I've seen many Spice videos on television. I am 17 now :) I remember Mel C's "NBTSA" video being played on channels back in 2000. Novice7 (talk) 06:47, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
17!!! I feel very old now, lol. Legolas your CV is impressive, Im jealous. Somehow I first read that your new job was a baby, lol, I thought OMG you're a father. :D Frcm1988 (talk) 06:57, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Umm hello Christopher, I'm much older than you, and I'm stuck in a bed with a mending leg and hand, being a dad is probably the last thing on my mind. Lol :) — Legolas (talk2me) 07:15, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

/* Born This Way */

Let it sit for a day. Someone else will probably take care of it.—Kww(talk) 17:31, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Here for a quick word

Just wondering one quick thing as a courtesy for you. After Mimi is completed I might go onto its singles, so I would just like to know if you are still interested in doing "It's Like That". I know you had your eye on that page for a while so I don't want to touch it. Thanks--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 11:17, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes I would still like to and I kinda started also before the accident, but after coming back I felt "Born This Way" and the album article needed immediate attention. Got busy with it. I will start it sometime later this month I guess. Does Shapiro say anything abnout its background? — Legolas (talk2me) 12:55, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh, wonderful. Don't worry, there is no time limit, I was just wondering if your interests dwindled or remained the same. Sadly, Nickson covers up until about 1998 and Shapiro up until 1999, so no luck with any help from those two books. Let me know if I can help with anything else. I find an easy way to gather background sources is to search the MariahDaily archives. They provide sources, and really do provide a lot of sourcing and background info prior to each album. If you'd like can search through there.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 12:59, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, they had archived interviews from magazines. Could you give me a link? Spin, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Music Week did not have anything for ILT, every damn interview is about WBT. Does she hate the song or wat? — Legolas (talk2me) 13:04, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Lol, she goes with the flow. Whatever is big she talks about. I'll take a look. I'll gather some sources and in a few days post you everything I find. Good luck.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 13:05, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Mcarchives.com has interviews (and full reviews) too. You can check it out too Legolas. Novice7 (talk) 13:13, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Question

Hi Legolas. I hope you are fine. Do you think there is any review for "Run the World (Girls)" at popjustice.com? Jivesh Talk2Me 18:37, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

No idea man. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:14, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
It does not matter my friend. By the way, i have lost much hope. I do not think a video can make RTW a hit now. Knowles is taking too long. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:23, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Really? I think you have been a bit misinformed by the recent #1 debuts. Singles usually build up momentum, while albums are the big entries. Heck, Ring the Alarm was Beyonce's biggest Hot 100 debut at #14 (I think). If it is a really good video (it should be fucking amazing) then Run the World can make the top five I think. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:28, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Jivesh why the drama-mama? Are you listening to Kanye too much nowadays? — Legolas (talk2me) 08:32, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
But whenever i searched for news about it onto the internet, the first titles appearing are "Run the World flop or hit"! Jivesh Talk2Me 08:36, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Listen my friends, i love Beyonce a lot. Really. But we have to agree that RTW is continuously descending iTunes Chart. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:38, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Lol Legolas. And Jivesh, just wait and see.... Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Hmmmmm can someone explain the Kanye West part to me? Jivesh Talk2Me 08:40, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Correction.......... RTA debuted at number 12. I love that song. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:42, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, RTA debuted at 12, was a big hoopla surrounding it, as for Kanye, you know how overtly dramatic and mamatic he is. You are being like him, fussing over a song, which wasn't even released two weeks ago, with no promo, no music video etc. Seeing you, I should break some dishes over "Judas"' performsnce eh? — Legolas (talk2me) 08:50, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Hmmmm don't you think "Judas" is doing well? Jivesh Talk2Me 08:59, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
No, I think its doing abysmally, but then it has no promo except a half-assed performance on Ellen. Same case with RTW, you need to judge it after the music video comes and if it still doesnot rise, then call it a flop and deal with it. She is human after all and flops will happen with your faves mind you. And she is intelligent and will release another song soon to cash-back in. (Who run this motha')Legolas (talk2me) 09:03, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I know you are right Legolas. But where the hell is Beyonce? She hasn't even said anything about the song. She did not even respond to MTV News who contacted her on two occasions. Do you think it may have happened that Beyonce did not want o release the song but her label did it because it was leaked or something like that? Jivesh Talk2Me 09:06, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
No Jivesh, its called the Matthew Knowles effect. I think her father cursed the song or somethin frankly since Knowles chose not to record this project with him after all that "Halo" controversy and the Grammys. (Secretly I wish she hadn't sampled "Pon de Floor" so blindly)Legolas (talk2me) 13:06, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I also wish so. I noticed that she sampled the entire beat. I mean she did not change anything. About the Matthew thing, i am bit reluctant. I mean how can a dad want this for her daughter. It seems so monstrous. Jivesh Talk2Me 16:37, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Whitney Houston

Hi Legolas! So, I'm planning to expand the article to meet the GA criteria soon. I was wondering which album should I use as a model.. Madonna, Like a Virgin or True Blue? And, I don't know what to include on the Legacy section :( Novice7 (talk) 11:29, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Don't worry Mag, most album's follow the same pattern anyway. As for the legacy section, we need to find critical assessment of the album and how it impacted modern music as a whole. Maybe for example, how "Vision of Love" inspired melisma and countless singers etc. I mean to start its the best-selling debut album. We can work from there :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 12:14, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
I remember Nicki Minaj saying about the album (especially "How Will I Know"), should we include it too? Btw, isn't ...Baby One More Time the best selling debut now?? Novice7 (talk) 12:54, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Sure, anything of that sort can be used! Hmmm, actually now I'm confused as well. Spears album did probably sell more, but I know Whit's did hold that record for quite some time. Anyway, let's continue this discussion on our talk pages, I'm not really welcome here.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 13:14, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Take Madonna or Like a Virgin as model. True Blue needs a little clean-up I think. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:03, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. Novice7 (talk) 14:52, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Irressistible

Hi there Legolas :) Can you help me with something? This article by People-how can I transform this into a review for the song's video? Also, this review by Billboard]-can you help me summarise it? Thanks in advance! Novice7 (talk) 15:00, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

People called the video "humptastic", referring to Simpson's progressive sexual image from her previous videos. Got it? For Billboard. Chuck Editor from Billboard complimented the uptempo, contemporary appeal of the track and felt that "Irressistible" will be a staple airplay song at radio. Taylor also noticed that the breakdown and the spoken passages of the song gives it a street edge, something unheard from Simpson's previous endeavors. Easy. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:06, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Wow. The way you write is so good. It's flawless. Jivesh Talk2Me 16:18, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes! Omg, you should be a teacher, lol. You're just amazing!!! Thank you so much. Btw, can you just skim through "Irresistible" and tell me if I'm violating MOS:ELLIPSIS? Novice7 (talk) 16:20, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Not a problem. As for ELLIPSIS, yes Novice, a lot of places. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:39, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh my, can you tell me where? The Background section? Also, when I'm quoting part of the lyrics, how should I separate it? A slash or a comma? Novice7 (talk) 09:30, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
See how the source gives it. Slash or comma? — Legolas (talk2me) 09:38, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
It's an audio bio. The booklet does not have a transcription too. What can I do? Novice7 (talk) 09:41, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
What about now? Also, are the ellipses okay now? Novice7 (talk) 10:30, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
The ellipses seem fine now. I can't find anything out of context in the quotes now. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:22, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I didn't know much about its usage before, and added unnecessary square brackets, lol :D Also, thanks for splitting the section. The previous one was getting big and off-topic. Novice7 (talk) 13:06, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Egg-jactly. — Legolas (talk2me) 13:14, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

It clearly states that it will premiere on Vevo.

Why have you removed Vevo from the Judas article? Her website clearly states that it will be released on both E! News and Vevo at 7/6c pm and 11:30/10:30c pm. http://www.ladygaga.com/news/default.aspx?nid=35387&aid=599 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samlikeswiki (talkcontribs) 09:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

You removed a perfectly formatted reference, with an unformatted one, with no mention of Vevo anywhere. And next time, please sign. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:50, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Even Divas Struggle

Oh yes. To tell you frankly i did not like what he said. What's your opinion? Jivesh Talk2Me 15:11, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

As I said before, give the singles some time before shouting "FLOP" at the top of your voice. I admit, things aren't looking to bright for both ladies, but there's still a chance and there's no harm in being optimistic right? "Judas" video is premiering tonight. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:15, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Legolas, to tell you frankly i did not like "Judas" at first but today, my friend made me listen to it around 10 times and finally i love it. Especially the part when she cries (i do not know if i am using the correct word. lol). Anyway Legolas, as far as i know, Beyonce has never had a lead single taking so much time to climb the charts. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:21, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Have you seen the trailer of RTW? And i am so excited to see what Lady GodGa has done for "Judas" video. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:23, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Good to know you like it, even I liked it after a few listens only. As for Bee, yes its true that neither CIL, DV or IIWAB took so much time, but for their release, hype was much more. This time I felt that the promo line-up wasn't decided thoroughly. Coupled with the fact that Bee simply stayed hidden, instead of talking about it. But then, let the video come. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:26, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
I know you are a good friend and that you do not want me to lose hope. But i no longer think i have any hope left. Fans are screaming everywhere that the song is a flop. We all know that this is not the first. I think "Video Phone" was also a flop but RTW is a lead single and that's not a good thing. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:31, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Umm, Jivesh, there's a difference being a logical fan and a stupid fan (fanatic/hater). Try to be logical in this case. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:34, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Legolas what i see in RTW is a beautiful song. I like everything about it except the chorus. It could have got a better one. I do not understand why people are hating so hard. The latest thing i saw was someone posting "RING THE ALARM (PART 2)". I really do not know what to think. Even Nathan believes that a video cannot save the single. but i am sure things will work out better for Lady Gaga. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:38, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
If Beyonce's fans really loved the song, don't you think they would save it? If not by downloading it, at least by asking for it on the radio? By the way, the video for "Judas" has premiered. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:40, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
See even if it flops, Bey can release a better single soon. Every artist has their fare share of flops after hit eras, maybe Bee is having it too? She kinda lost momentum after the release of "Sweet Dreams". — Legolas (talk2me) 15:42, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG. 15:42, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, i feel the same. I need to go. My mom is calling me. Very nice talking to you. hope we will continue this discussion soon. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Re:Born this Way peer Review

Apologies I got too excited over the premier of the "Judas" video over at Perezhilton.com. I will be completing a review in several hours. :P — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 15:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

It leakeeeeeeeeed. OMG, awesome one! Those images of her in the waves were so eerier. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:55, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
I need to watch it a few more times but I don't think its anywhere near as 'religiously' crucifying as people were expected. I've completed a review for the second half of the article (from chart performance downwards). Feel free to dig in to the fixes when you're ready. Once that's all completed I'll sort the first half of the article out. Sorry if the review is a little harsh... I've done it with the view that if it's taken to FA it will be penalised heavily so hopefully i've picked up on things that the peeps at FA/GA would. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:00, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Ya even I think so, what the hell is controversial about it? Don't worry nay-sayers will find something damning about it, like Gaga doing threesome with Jesus+Judas in a bathtub etc. As for the review, I'm loving it! I knew I had developed this article in a haste and is not up par with my best work, it needed some third eye to sort it. Keep'em coming hashim. *Goes back to Judaa-aaas* — Legolas (talk2me) 17:03, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
haha LOL couldn't agree more. Right i've fixed the initial "On the Floor" peeer review comments but tbh the lead I hate. I will re-write it a third time once the rest of the article is right. Its aweful. I just can't seem to get the balance of info in it right. But the rest of the article? with regards to "Born This Way" ... don't get me wrong... you're version beats ass over the previous version but the sheer size of the article and volume of depth means one has to be more careful to ensure that the reader is able to follow events throughout the article. Drop me a tick once you're done with the stuff I've brought up so far then i'll do the front half of the article... otherwise the review might be difficult to follow. :D — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:31, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

The Monster Ball Tour

Judas and Americano were sang in Mexico, so i don't understand why you erase them from the setlist. KiRx (talk) 16:53, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Its unsourced. Please don't add it. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:59, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes of course. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:03, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Never heard of it before in my life. Thanks for letting me know. I always thought that was considered stylizing. And what do you mean by כמד with Die Another Day? I've never seen that before. nding·start 23:06, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

If you've seen the video, those words prop up when Madonna escapes the confinement. Its Hebrew for release or something. When DAD was released, it was being used as symbolic element for the song in promos etc. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:05, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Here I am...

I'm so depressed Legolas. Do you happen to know anyone (outside the music project) who can copyedit "Irresistible"? I expected this oppose as I added trash information (lol) after the last copyedit. Novice7 (talk) 04:27, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh dear what happened? — Legolas (talk2me) 04:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Fails 1a of FAC criteria. I was pretty much sure this would come up. It's extremely choppy [just read the lead yourself, you'll see :(]. Novice7 (talk) 04:31, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh is it Sarastro? He's pretty good at catching stuff. You can ask User:Tony1 giving him proper links for the FAC, and then asking his opinions on the choppy parts of the prose which you think are hindering its promotion. Tony1 wrote FAC1a. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:33, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it is Sarastro. I know, he's really good (I saw his work on Butterfly). Thanks! I'll ask Tony. Maybe I should withdraw the nomination again, lol. Novice7 (talk) 04:40, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Told ya, it takes 4/5 times. "4 Minutes" took three times before it got promoted. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:47, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
It's okay. I might drop this song soon as I'm planning to get Whitney Houston to a GA (or FA). I'm actually more into Whit's music than Simpson's :D Btw, I haven't seen "Judas" music video, how is it? Novice7 (talk) 04:50, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Here you go. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:59, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Wow, it's a pretty good video. Just as I was thinking, "Women couldn't wear those clothes 200 years ago", Gaga started getting stoned... Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Love it!!! I had it on repeat since this afternoon. My second favorite after "Bad Romance". "Judas" has grown a lot on me thanks to the video :D Frcm1988 (talk) 05:47, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Love, love LOVE IT!!! The song is much better than Bad Romance imo. The video rocks!! Novice7 (talk) 05:54, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Love it ^ infinity. My favourite was the wave scene! — Legolas (talk2me) 06:11, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
I love the concept, the biblical with a modern twist, very creative!!! and her dancing skills improved a lot. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes it has, but that awkwardness is still there. I wish "Judas" would perform better on the charts though. And I'm waiting with baited breath for "Marry the Night". That instrumental on Gagavision 43 was just amazing. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:38, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm so gonna get Born This Way when it comes out. I'm in love with the songs!! Novice7 (talk) 05:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
