Adoption offer

[edit]

Hi Lbrock. Saw that you were looking for an adopter and just wanted to let you know that I'd be willing to "take you under my wing" until you reach Novice editor status. If you'd rather someone else or are no longer interested, no sweat...just let me know :) --Eustress (talk) 20:03, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Due to inactivity, I have withdrawn your adoption status. If you become active again and would like further assistance, please consult WP:ADOPT. —Eustress talk 15:00, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption welcome

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, Lbrock, and thanks for choosing me as your adopter. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I think you'll enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! I see that you haven't contributed on any main-space pages yet, so as an initial pointer, remember to sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. I will watch your contributions page and help out where needed, and if there is a specific article you would like me to help work on, just let me know. Again, welcome! --Eustress (talk) 01:31, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Second request for article to be "un-deleted"

[edit]

Hi Tony, I understand that you have a regular life and may or may not respond quickly to responses, however I worked pretty hard on that articles and didn't post until I thought it was complete rather than doing a stub, still unsure what makes it an advert so any input would be appreciated, at the very least why this merited an "speedy deletion" and was not put up for discussion with other editors.

Thanks again for your time

Hey Loni. I came across your request and thought I'd chime in. If Tony responds, he'll be able to offer more context to his decision, but it appears to have been deleted because it was a blatant advertisement, which is grounds for speedy deltion—i.e., he as an administrator may delete the page without discussion.
First, I just want to express my trust in Wikipedia administrators. They are very experienced and are usually on the money—but they're also extremely busy. Whereas there are over 75,000 volunteer editors like you and me, there are only 1,000 volunteer administrators (see Wikipedia:About). Regarding the article, I'm not sure how or under what account you posted the article because it does not appear under your username—anyway, if you would like to rework the article, you could create a personal sandbox for yourself (perhaps at User:Lbrock/Sandbox) where you could work on it and I could help before you try to create it again.
Hope this helps. Best --Eustress (talk) 15:15, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Per above, I've recreated the material for you in your new sandbox, here: User:Lbrock/Sandbox Feel free to ask anyone around for help/review. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 01:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like Tony was kind enough to help out. When people do kind things for you are make good edits, you might want to consider awarding them. If you would like, I will help out by editing the article on your sandbox. Usually, people won't (or at least they shouldn't) make edits to any of your personal pages other than your talk page, but I will make some edits if you would like. We can discuss the edits on your sandbox's talk page. Let me know what you think. --Eustress (talk) 01:41, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I updated the ALD article on your sandbox, with my comments on the sandbox talk page. Check it out! --Eustress (talk) 19:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar thank-you

[edit]

Wow...I think that's the nicest compliment and gesture I've ever received on Wikipedia. Wikipedia can be quite overwhelming for people like me and you who really want to make honest improvements, so I'm trying my best to help you in any way I can. Thanks again and keep up the good work! --Eustress (talk) 21:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could not find an article that expressed my thoughts exactly, so one of my next contributions is going to be a new barnstar award, you will see it first. :) Loni (talk) 17:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
lol...thanks! Creating barnstars is fun—I created the WikiProject Medicine Barnstar :) --Eustress (talk) 17:15, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just to save you some work, I just came across this one today: {{Adopt-a-User Barnstar}} --Eustress (talk) 02:26, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ALD

[edit]

I hadn't seen you re-create the article and didn't want to see the edits go to waste so I re-created American Leak Detection. Best --Eustress (talk) 20:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC) [reply]
