- Hi Paul,
- Thanks so much for all of your help and for helping to refine my article. I have edited my draft and I'm ready to resubmit - I made changes and pressed 'Publish Changes', but it doesn't look like my draft is in a queue for review, like it was last time. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an alternative way I need to resubmit for review?
- Many thanks! LaurenTimeToRefresh (talk) 13:00, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi LaurenTimeToRefresh. "Publish changes" simply completes that edit session (effectively, it saves your draft). However, in your edits you took out the Article for Creation (AFC) templates at the top of the article. These help to manage the process of article review (once an article is approved, these are cleaned-up and removed, so no need to take them out manually). I have reinstated them, so you should now be able to submit the article for review. Paul W (talk) 14:21, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

[edit]AfC notification: Draft:Kate Mason has a new comment
[edit]- Hiya! Thanks so much for pointing that out. With the use of the Metro, is this not possible to keep in as I was using it as 'proof' of Mason's employment, by supplying examples of articles she did whilst writing at the Metro, to back up my statement about her gaining employment at the Metro. In this circumstance can it still not be used? Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it! LaurenTimeToRefresh (talk) 10:31, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:Potentially unreliable sources regarding tabloids. Some (eg: Daily Mail) are completely deprecated; even with others, it is often best to find alternative sources. If you are evidencing Mason's writing for the Metro then I think it may OK to reference example articles (but if a more reliable media outlet has reported her employment with the Metro, use that). Paul W (talk) 12:32, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Paul W! Really helpful. LaurenTimeToRefresh (talk) 12:36, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- See WP:METRO - it is seen as a sister title of the Daily Mail (see WP:DAILYMAIL). Guidance on the latter says it "may be used in rare cases in an about-self fashion". If I interpret this correctly, it suggests Metro references might be cited as they would only be evidencing the person writing the article, not what they wrote. Paul W (talk) 12:50, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, yes! That makes a lot of sense, so I think I can use it in one instance in my draft.
- Great, thanks! LaurenTimeToRefresh (talk) 14:13, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
