Orphaned non-free image (Image:TermanLogo.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:TermanLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? It's at PAUSD now. It was originally on a user-subpage, but I had to comment it out until the article got moved to mainspace. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 23:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Your revert

hey Clavin, I've done quite a bit of editing, this is the first time I've had somehting reverted like that in a long time though. I refer you to the talk section for the page, where you can see why I felt the citation needed clauses were useful, and I am reinstating my edits. Please feel free to join in at the talk page if you disagree though! Good to meet you, and welcome to wikipedia! Robbiemuffin (talk) 23:19, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Umm... I still don't see the point of putting a {{fact}} after the word "During", but I'll see what I can do. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 23:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, it says during in our article section, but 3 weeks before in the reference article. It might be that 3 weeks before, was still during somebody's campaign, but that isn't in the reference article. MAybe you can change the word "during" ? Robbiemuffin (talk) 23:51, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
The reference refers to "3 weeks before" as in 3 weeks before the referendum itself - during the "campaign" for it, basically. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 23:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
I noticed the edits you made after the fact checking. Great edits, thank you. Robbiemuffin (talk) 00:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
And sorry about the revert, I was recent-changes patrolling with huggle, and you tend to revert anything looking suspicious. I've added you to the huggle whitelist. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 00:24, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Tor subnet

Hi Calvin 1998. If an IP is listed as "Tor subnet"[1], it usually means that the IP is dynamic and that the node has appeared at more than one IP address within a small range. For example [2], there is no node currently at 71.198.104.58, but there is one now at 71.198.104.171 [3]. It's probably the same node, and it'll probably have a different IP again tomorrow. It is rarely economical to block the individual IP addresses, but if there is enough disruption and no collateral then there may be a choice to block the subnet. But this is usually very unlikely unless the range is small and used exclusively by Tor nodes. Most of the time if the IP is dynamic it is not worth blocking. How to mark these at WP:OP is not obvious - if the node has moved and is unlikely to return and there is definitely no other node at the IP that it might be notaproxy, but if it is possible that it could return then it may be inconclusive. It is probably best to not mark as an oproxy in case someone blocks it without realising how dynamic it may be. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! Calvin 1998 (t-c) 22:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Here's an award for you!

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I award you the RickK Anti Vandalism Barnstar for scaring off all those vandals and making Wikipedia a much better place. Keep up the good work! SchfiftyThree 23:06, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello again. The Highly Active Users project has gone through a complete revamping per popular demand. We believe this new format will make it easier for new editors to find assistance. However, with the new format, I must again ask you to verify your information on this page. I attempted to translate the data from the old version to the new, but with the extensive changes, I may have made some errors. Thanks again. Useight (talk) 03:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

 Done. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 04:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

User talk revert

Thanks for reverting that test/vandal/whatever it was. (For now I'm leaving my counter untouched; "Hi" isn't vandalism in my book.) Cheers! Tuvok[T@lk/Improve] 19:02, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Barnstar

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For your constant vandal fighting efforts. Also, please slow down with the fighting of vandals today. You've beaten me at least three times to stuff when we're both using Huggle. And the last time, you only beat me by 0.00003423 seconds! I mean, c'mon! It's ridiculous. Actually, I'm just making this long so that you have to read the whole thing before returning to vandal fighting. Keep up the awesome work. --SharkfaceT/C 21:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the barnstar! You did beat me quite a few times too, you know. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 21:27, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
That's good to know. ^_^ --SharkfaceT/C 22:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks very much for reverting the vandalism on my page. Much appreciated ——Ryan | tc 00:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey! Nice job!

Hey! You know... that when you revert vandalism so quickly, the rest of us sometimes feel a little useless... Try to think of all the other huggle users trying to contribute... ;-) In all seriousness, you are a great VF! Nice job. κaτaʟavenoTC 00:28, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, it's better than letting something like this stay for over 5 seconds and get seen by at least 10 people worldwide :). Anyhow, I've got some work to finish up, so good luck with your vandal-reverting. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 00:34, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello

Hello, Calvin 1998. Should I disregard your self-reverted messages? --Hegumen (talk) 04:06, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

If I revert my own messages, usually means I messed up :P (I recent-changes patrol with huggle, so I make mistakes often). So yeah, completely ignore that. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 04:07, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Your revert to Bochica

Hello Calvin 1998,

Please be careful when reverting vandalism; this edit was not a test nor a vandalism, so I removed the warning you left on Twainrain's talk page. Regards, Korg (talk) 14:12, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

It sort of looked like vandalism, he removed quite a bit of information. Wouldn't have reverted if I saw the edit summary though... Anyhow, thanks for catching that. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 14:48, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

help

i'm not good at surfing the web so i'm asking for help from anyone. i need to find out about coastal marine life in japan but i'm having trouble finding anything in my searches. any help would be appreciated please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.195.91.69 (talk) 16:40, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Try the Reference Desk. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 19:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

What's the copyright status on Huggle? All I know is that it uses images under the LGPL, but what's the entire program under? It's useful when making snapshots, etc., so we don't assume it's PD. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 20:58, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind, it's obviously LGPL. Going to have to fix a few images' license tags... Calvin 1998 (t-c) 21:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
The program itself is public domain. Screenshots that incorporate the icons are LGPL as derivative works -- Gurchzilla (talk) 21:04, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Image:HuggleCaptchaBlank.PNG listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:HuggleCaptchaBlank.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. :D That's a major bug... I've sent myself a message... Calvin 1998 (t-c) 17:24, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey!

Hey, you deleted my page, Pickles (comic series). It was important and significant. The comic series is going to rise up very soon. Please don't delete it.

I didn't delete it, I only marked it for an administrator to delete it, but please see the criteria for speedy deletion first. Pages are usually only created for comics which are notable and already exist. Sorry about that... Calvin 1998 (t-c) 21:33, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Help Desk

Resolved
 – Explained my actions, and reworded response, removing stuff written mostly in frustration/anger. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 06:14, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Calvin, with ref to this response you made at the Help Desk, it's nice of you to help out and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Help Desk purpose to help people in using Wikipedia? Advising someone to keep their family off the internet altogether not only goes beyond that scope, it's downright rude and casts the entire project in a bad light. You could just as easily have explained the redirect and image inclusion parts as you did, added that public domain images are used and that Wikipedia isn't censored, and left it at that. Adopting the tone of the questioner is not helpful. Leaving a link to the article talk where you make a badly formatted and dismissive note of the issue is just not ... helpful. Thanks! Franamax (talk) 07:18, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

:P this is what happens when you answer questions when you're in a rush at 11:00 PM at my age... oh well, I've rephrased the reply. About the comment on the talkpage, I don't quite see the problem with that one.. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 14:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the rephrase. I do understand the sense of frustration when some issues come up over and over again. As far as the talk page, well, it was late night for me too :) Retracted. I was also going to note in passing that not all German WWII military leaders were Nazis, but in the event, the one pictured was, so that's moot. Regards! Franamax (talk) 19:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
