[edit]Am trying to track down if there are any free images/photographs of Grand Oriental Hotel and St Peter's Church, Colombo. Any suggestions. Dan arndt (talk) 04:02, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- I found some pics of GOH at commons, but they are not much clear and descriptive. (font view of GOH building but very old pic with its previous hotel name rear part of GOH building (right side white building)) Sorry i couldn't find pics of St Peter's Church, Colombo.--L Manju (talk) 04:19, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

[edit]List of Archaeological Protected Monuments in Sri Lanka
[edit]I appreciate for your contribution on "List of Archaeological Protected Monuments in Sri Lanka". I would like to see "List of Archaeological Protected Monuments in Batticaloa District". --AntanO 14:03, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Antan, it is pleasure to meet you. I also would like to create the article of List of Archaeological Protected Monuments in Batticaloa District but do not have enough amount of entities for it. I only found about 2 places with reliable sources for the district.--L Manju (talk) 14:41, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

A recent article has been created for the above. I've tried searching for informational on this kovil/temple but can't find anything substantial that would establish notability. I'm not even certain whether this is the temple's correct name or not. Can you check and see if you can dig up anything on this one. Thanks Dan arndt (talk) 07:43, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Dan arndt, I checked through the given Geographic coordinates via Google maps but couldn't find out a considerable sign of a kovil. The coordinated area is not a populated area but there is a sivan kovil near to the Puthukkudiyiruppu town in this coordinates. This can be the given temple in the article. But the name Sivanagar is seemed to be wrong.--L Manju (talk) 08:28, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- That's what I thought however the article's creator appears to be Hindu, so I thought they may know better. Then they have changed the name of the article three times and the reference they've cited doesn't appear to be that reliable hence the second opinion. Is this an article that should be PROD'd? Dan arndt (talk) 09:59, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with you. The ref, given in the article is not reliable and the title is also seemed to be wrong. But if the creator can address these issues we can keep the article. However I am not much aware about the criteria for PROD related to this type of articles.--L Manju (talk) 10:29, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- Basically it needs to satisfy WP:GNG. If the name of the temple is inaccurate then it's really difficult to find any reliable sources. I have tried searching for Sivan temples in Puthukkudiyiruppu but haven't found anything that shows this temple is notable at all. I've tried raising it with the article's creator but all that's resulted in is him changing the name of the article, and I haven't been able to find any reliable references for any of the different names he's used. It's all very frustrating. Dan arndt (talk) 15:25, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 3
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wasantha Soysa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Norwegian. Identifying reliable sources
[edit]Hi L Manju. I see you keep using not reliable sources, and also reverting my edits where I remove those unreliable sources, without giving an explanation. Please re add content with more reliable sources.
Read WP:RS and WP:OR, and get a better insight on what would be considered reliable sources.
Regards, Xenani (talk) 11:21, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Xenani thanks for directing me in to some pages. But i noticed that you had deleted some key information in articles saying unreliable sources and giving another references those can not be proved directly. (As you done here) You may had ask reliable citations for lines before delete them completely becouse it will give time to another user to find out the valid sources--L Manju (talk) 12:20, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Hi L Manju. Yes, I see that I may have made a mistake at the article for Sinhalese alphabet, which I will change. But regarding the Kadurugoda Vihara article, almost all citations here are from some kinds of websites that of my knowledge doesn't count as reliable sources, and I haven't removed the content but only the sources and substituted with a template indicating that there need to be added citation here. Also it should be noted on the Name section that it contains WP:OR, which should be avoided and thus I removed this section. You can add that back with reliable sources.
Regards Xenani (talk) 13:51, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yes I agree with you with some points. I was looking for some further refs but many of them are in Sinhala language. I cant add them as they can't be read by many editors. But I found few refs regarding the subject --L Manju (talk) 14:07, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Please note that references to reliable sources in other languages are perfectly acceptable on English Wikipedia if English language sources are not readily available. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:00, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Ways to improve Kshetrarama Maha Vihara
[edit]Hi, I'm Anoptimistix. L Manju, thanks for creating Kshetrarama Maha Vihara!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thanks for your contributor. You have started a wonderful article about religious place. As of now I am marking it as patrolled as it has a source for verification of the temples existence but if you get more sources then cite it please. Happy editing:)
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Autopatrolled granted
[edit]Hi L Manju, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:26, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
I have nominated you for Autopatrolled rights
[edit]Hello I had nominated you for Autopatrolled rights at WP:PERM/A after seeing your solid content creation record. I noted an administrator granted you that right. I hope you would keep on sharing your information and knowledge by adding content in existing articles and creating new articles.
Can you please add the userbox {{Template:User wikipedia/Autopatrolled}} on your userpage so that you username would be listed in Categories:users with autopatrolled rights ?
This was my suggestion, you are free to add it or not add it on your userpage. Thank you for creating so many good articles. Have a lovely day Anoptimistix Let's Talk 02:11, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Rollback granted
[edit]Hi L Manju. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 13:38, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:39, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
I don't think so comment Doreen Sansoni talk page
[edit]If you don't mind rather than write a personal snipe in the edit summary as you did here reverting Doreen Sansoni's talk page it would be more helpful and constructive for you to explain the revert decision in a bit more detail in your edit summary. Personally she deserves a rather more important rating than the A25 highway.--Navops47 (talk) 09:11, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Navops47, Definitely she is notable. But comparing her figure with other relative sport people like Susanthika Jayasinghe, she is bit lower I think. There should be a hierarchy in the importance scale for a given field and that's why I changed the importance level at Doreen Sansoni talk page. Sorry I had left an empty space there without define an exact rating. But I can't realize why did you compare that Doreen Sansoni article with an another article which has no relation with the given subject?--L Manju (talk) 11:27, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi many thanks for the change and accept Susanthika Jayasinghe is more recent, at tennis project of which I am member former national number 1 players are usually given a pretty decent rating more so if they have won titles and particularly international titles the reason I referenced the A25 after I viewed WP:Sri Lanka rating policy. I was just trying to make the point as that article was assessed as a mid=level article which is after all just a road.--Navops47 (talk) 11:40, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes I agree with you on A25. I checked some of articles about renowned tennis players in the world level and found that under WikiProject Tennis category they have been given the rating as High-importance. But under the Wikiproject country/state they are rated mostly as Mid-importance. ex. Rafael Nadal - WikiProject Spain (Rated B-class, Mid-importance), Petra Kvitová - WikiProject Czech Republic (Rated B-class, Mid-importance), Venus Williams - WikiProject Florida (Rated C-class, Low-importance), WikiProject California / Los Angeles / Southern California (Rated B-class, High-importance), Victoria Azarenka - WikiProject Belarus (Rated B-class, Mid-importance), Henri Cochet - WikiProject France (Rated GA-class, Mid-importance), Andre Agassi - WikiProject Nevada / Las Vegas (Rated B-class, Low-importance). Still tennis is not a popular game in Sri Lanka as well as she (Doreen Sansoni) was not a world class player. So I believe that the importance rating for Doreen should be mid or low. (mostly low.) --L Manju (talk) 01:59, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
