A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin
[edit]Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.
I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.

- Only a little late, right? See you on IRC -- would be a duller place without ye. Luna Santin 12:45, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Sean Black i understand that I have put fair use images on my user page and I understand that you deleted them all. But you did not have to erase all of my page. Not only that I had to make my user page all over again! and I could not look on my history of my userpage to find out who did this! OK? look you should've just told me instead of deleting my userpage!!!!!!~!!! K> GSXFSCFsd

[edit]That's a real bomb you've just thrown at RFA... any chance on getting you to make it, erm, slightly less strongly worded?

- Sean, would you mind providing a bit more info about what you've said on Werdna's RfA (namely, the harrassment charges)? If that's the sort of thing he's been engaging in, it'll certainly affect my vote - however, I'd greatly appreciate any examples you could give on this account. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Daisuke Yamomoto, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 19:39, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Fuzzy Zoeller edit controversy
[edit]Hello, there. As you may or may not know, the Miami Herald recently revealed that professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller has filed a lawsuit against Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. for adding false statements to his Wikipedia biography.
For data gathering purposes, an SRS of 20 administrators has been created, you being one of them. I would like you to comment on this situation and its possible implications to Wikipedia, the accused company, and the general welfare of the community in general. (To what extent will this impact Wikipedia? To what extent will this impact those who use Wikipedia often? To what extent is the company guilty? Who do you believe is at fault?) Feel free to comment however you wish. I ask that you email me your responses via my emailuser page so as to reduce bias in your responses. (Again, don't post your responses on my talk page.)
The following are articles from various news agencies that you may use to inform yourself about the situation: Miami Herald, Herald Tribune, Web Pro News, The Smoking Gun.
I thank you for taking your time to express your opinion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time. └Jared┘┌talk┐ 18:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Username change
[edit]Hi. I've renamed you, as requested. Remember to move your user page, talk page and any subpages, etc. But most importantly, since you are no newbie, I would recommend that you re-create your former username, which is now "vacant" again, and block it, to prevent impersonation. Crainidos -> Cranidos move request
[edit]Hello, there! NP Chilla here. I would like to ask you for a little favour, if that's alright:
- As you may know, the Pokémon formerly called Zugaidos is now called Cranidos. However, said creatures talk page bears the erroneous moniker of "Talk:Crainidos". I have tried to move it, but I could not; it suggested I ask an administrator for assistance.
- Could you please help me to fulfill this task? I would be most grateful!!

Thank you

Hello and question
[edit]Hello again SeanBlack, or should I now Kyorosuke. I was wondering how do you put images or those reference dohikeys on articles. This is just out of curiosity I shall admit, just in case I wish to help in the image department as well. Thank you for your time.
Oh, there is also a bit debate or argument going on in the Dragon talk page. It's quite funny, but it is getting a bit out of hand. Maybe you should go and stop it. These arguments do tend to "dragon". (terrible joke, but pun intended).
Thank you

A Question
[edit]- Hey there SeanBlack! I was redirected here from your talk page on the TARDIS Wikia. I saw you are a sysop on there and thus had a question for you: How do you put on pre-loadable topic outlines? I have made a wiki myself and wish to add the option to click and automatically load an outline. Do you know how this is done. If you could reply on my page on TARDIS wikia I would be most grateful. Regards, -- No. 1 Chelsea Fan talk contribs email 12:29, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps you can help me
[edit]As it turns out, I've posted this question many times on talk pages and have not recieved an answer. Perhaps you can help, for no one else seems to offer even the slightest solutions.
I have created lists of fictional characters but I do not know how to make a template for them. For example: I wish to make a template for a series of fictional characters so as to have them listed properly, but can't seem to find anyone who can offer useful info on how to do it.
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
--KnowledgeLord 05:57, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- The easiest thing to do (what I do) is to take a template that has the layout you want and then just replace the items in it with the items that you want to use -- I created Template:Kamen Rider by modifying Template:Doctor Who.--KR | T 19:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/October 3, by Black Falcon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/October 3 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/October 3, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:18, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

unprotection request: Template:Spoiler
[edit]Hi - would you please take a look at this note on the Spoiler template talk page?
The guideline WP:SPOILER has a lot of discussion, but the template itself is used on very few mainspace pages at this time, so is not a high-risk template.
Would you please unprotect the page, or if not, reply to let me know the reason for your decision?
I'm on semi-Wikibreak, but I am keeping an eye on my watchlist, so I will see it if you reply here or on the template page. Thanks a lot. --Parsifal Hello 03:30, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GodzillavMegalon Ja.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:GodzillavMegalon Ja.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:21, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
In space
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article In space, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of In space. JHunterJ (talk) 12:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Nyder, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The Game (game) deletion review
[edit]Two years ago, you ("Sean Black" redirects to you) were the editor who decided that the outcome of the vote of the 3rd deletion nomination of The Game (game) was delete. You acknowledged that this wasn't uncontroversial. In fact, it already survived deletion nomination twice before, and also the third time there were quite a few more votes keep than delete. You chose to ignore those votes, noting that the majority of keep comments came from new or unregistered users. Your principal reason for the delete seems to be the alleged lack of verifiable sources.
Unsurprisingly, the discussion didn't die. The debate went on on the talk page of the disambiguation page of The Game. The growing consensus seems to be that at the very least two mainstream newspaper articles from March 2006 definitely fulfill both verifiability and notability; and that there exists further evidence for notability in the form of mentions on mainstream radio, television, as well as Facebook and webcomic references, including a recent xkcd comic.
Since The Game (game) is, however undeserved, a previously deleted article, KnightLago suggested bringing the page to Wikipedia:DRV is the correct way to proceed (rather than recreating the article and facing possible speedy deletion). The Deletion Review page asks to first discuss the matter with the admin who deleted the page. Hereby I'm bringing this to your attention. — Adhemar (talk) 01:32, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I believe DRV is the way to go in this case. I don't believe there is consensus at all. The sources being cited by these few users have been discussed multiple times and have already been deemed unreliable. There is nothing new being brought to the table to support the recreation of this article. KnightLago (talk) 02:38, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- (If I try hard,) I can understand (but not agree) how people could argue that the subject is not notable enough. But I'm completely at a loss to understand on what grounds Daily Nebraskan, De Morgen could be considered unreliable. De Morgen is Flanders' second best quality newspaper. — Adhemar (talk) 09:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
