Please note that East India Company is an old article and a former featured article, which has been shaped by the input of many editors for over 20 years now. As such, despite the Wikipedia policy of encouraging bold edits, we are not at liberty to casually change it, without supportive reliable sources and offer our explanation only in edit summaries. If you are interested in making changes please open a new thread on Talk:East India Company, explain what you want to do and list some reliable sources that support your edit. You must then wait for the input of other editors and for a consensus to emerge. That usually takes time, usually several days, and even a week, if not longer. In other words, you cannot open a thread, make a post there, and quickly thereafter, change the article back to your version. Please read WP:ONUS which is Wikipedia policy. Please also read WP:BRD, which is sound advice for interaction.

- Thank you. I have done that now.
- I hope that the history of EIC is not written purely from the vantage point of one group of people.
- It's the facts that should matter. Not nostalgic and ideological leanings. Kumarbala82 (talk) 21:23, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
- These conflicts are well documented.
- Battle of Plassey, though significant in Indian history- did not result in establishment of EIC rule across India.
- Maratha Empire, Sikh Empire and Carnatic Empires were independent from the Mughal rule. And EIC had to fight a lot more battles to wrestle control from these empires.
