Is a Good Article now! User:Kumioko and I did tweaks to the excellent work you did to build it up to pass B-class checklists. Thanks and congratulations. You deserve to share the credit with Kumioko (and I helped a bit). Hope you and yours are well; I look forward to seeing your datestamp soon. BusterD (talk) 02:16, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Volcano Girls screenshot.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Volcano Girls screenshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 11:36, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
I recieved a note from you stating this pic is up for deletion. On the image's page the following is given as the reason in the tag:
"This image or media has a non-free use rationale that is disputed because of the following concern: Images from music videos should be used in the article about the song, not the article about the band."
The name of the song is "Volcano Girls" and is by the band Veruca Salt. As far as I can tell this image is only being used in the song's article, and not for the band, so I'm unsure why the pic can be deleted for this reason. Thank you. Kresock (talk) 17:55, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- I guess I screwed up. I've cancelled the deletion notice. Stifle (talk) 18:07, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Well
Well, I don't like the fact that ACW goes off on their own doing things contrary to standard policy and the WP:GTL either. If you're going do things the opposite of everyone else, on your own program, then these sorts of run ins are bound to happen. No offense was meant, just frustration at having so many articles out of sync with GTL. — Rlevse • Talk • 22:14, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (File:USSReliantDisabled.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:USSReliantDisabled.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --EEMIV (talk) 03:26, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Couch boxes
Howdy. I was looking at your recent Couch edits and noticed the boxes at the bottom of the article (which I recognize you did not add). The succession lists for corps level organizations are really pretty silly. The II Corps had about 30 commanders during the war, many of them for only a few days at a time, presumably when the regular commander went on leave or was filling in at the army level for another temporary absence. I am not going to mess around with the article while you are editing it, but if you would join me in quietly removing these boxes over time, I think that would be a reasonable course of action. By the way, although I do not care much about it, why did you decide to delete the list of battles in the information box? Hal Jespersen (talk) 14:25, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- You see this? Not even the right war or century - are our kids learning anything these days in school? Might have to cry a little now..... Kresock (talk) 22:44, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
I had a similar problem in the previous edit with one of the "simple English" articles. Quite simple indeed. The only thing I can say is I am grateful that the frequency of such foolishness has greatly diminished over time. A couple of years ago, I would deal with many, many dozens of vandalism reversions per day, but nowadays I often have to deal with only a handful. One of the factors is that there are a number of reliable editors now who catch these things before I do. And I think the kids are all completely consumed by Facebook anyway. :-) Now if I could just keep the decisive and strategic victory guys under control... Hal Jespersen (talk) 23:24, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hello again, sir! Some questions on Couch. One: got anything about his Mexican service, why/how he got his brevet? Not overly important as most ACW guys got them then, just wondering. Two: I began to expand on his Civil War stuff, but I'm not as good as others at the in-battle stuff; could you take a pass at Seven Pines for me? Three: Scott Mingus added the Gettysburg militia stuff to the lead back in '06 and it has been slightly expanded on since then. I feel it doesn't belong there as is, and should be summarized then added to the appropriate sub-section as I go, but unfortunately I cannot cite it. Can you? Hate to see is go if accurate, and I did ask him as well. By the way, did something happen to Couch's boxes? I'm stunned ;-) Good day! Kresock (talk) 02:38, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I am a bit busy today, so will do some updates pretty soon, but it would be useful if you told me when you are done so we do not collide. Unfortunately, some biographical details about Union generals are difficult to find in comparison to their Confederate colleagues, where I often have a lot more sources to deal with. Hal Jespersen (talk) 16:08, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Could you send me your email address? I want to send you some text. Go to my user page and click the yellow email box. Thanks. Hal Jespersen (talk) 19:54, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Darius N. Couch
The material on the PA militia came from my book, Flames Beyond Gettysburg: The Gordon Expedition, June 1863. It is based upon material from the Official Records and from the late Al Gambone's Engimatic Valor: Major General Darius N. Couch. I will provide specific pages from Gambone tonight; leaving now for work... Scott Mingus (talk) 10:57, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Done! Note Gambone's divergence in how the general pronounced his name. Al interviewed several of Couch's descendants, who told him the family always used Couch as in Ouch. Duh RYE us Couch. Scott Mingus (talk) 00:16, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:00, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
battle of Griswoldville
Dear Sir - I had made slight modifications to the Battle of Griswoldville reflecting the Historic Marker that sits on the field which is reflected at this link http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.civilwarmarkers.com/images/Misc/PG6/GHM143-12.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.civilwarmarkers.com/Civil%2520War/Misc/misc_6.htm&h=803&w=984&sz=249&tbnid=Wtke2N_iVBPO8M:&tbnh=122&tbnw=149&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbattle%2Bof%2Bgriswoldville&zoom=1&q=battle+of+griswoldville&hl=en&usg=__RWRZSNYBhy8ZMNPOmiNRihG5qgE=&sa=X&ei=W6XuTKfyOoG8lQfz0bGzDA&sqi=2&ved=0CC4Q9QEwBA
It is also portrayed at Our Georgia History
http://ourgeorgiahistory.com/ogh/Battle_of_Griswoldville
After touring the battlefield, and discussing with the local folks, it seems that calling these brave boys "enemy" is not reflective of the spirit of the park, or the honor that they deserve, yet, you apparantly undid these minor changes. before I repost, is there a better way of portraying this?

Whatever happened to...?
Kresock, you're one of the good ones. Where have ya been? You're missed.
If you happen to stick your head back in, the 150th year anniversary of the ACW begins in April. Milhist has a drive going on that might interest you.
Hoping you are in good health and things going well, hope to see you on my watchlist. :)

Isaac J. Wistar
I enjoyed your article on Isaac Jones Wistar. His journal is amazing. He writes about almost being killed by Indians while traveling across country in the Gold Rush; about arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court, and about the battles he fought in during the Civil War. If you ever see it in a used bookstore, BUY IT! I've bought 3 copies and given 2 away as gifts.
Best wishes,
