Economic outlook section

[edit]

I edited the Economc Outlook section. I did NOT write most of that content as you'll see from the history.

I began by fixing absurd mis-spellings --- many, simple and careless misspellings --- and as I got into it I re-wrote more of the sentences, shortening and clarifying them; finally I made some small improvements on the very poor content.

I suspect the person who made those previous, very sloppy and poor edits, was a vandal or troll or hostile (don't know the wiki term for such). Notice that the only link created was to Ayn Rand (misspelled Ayan Rand), and several absurd characterizations of anarcho-capitalistic (misspelled anchro and such), while their attribution or failure of attribution showed a naive socialist perspective.

Of course the section needs a lot of work. Currently it grossly exaggerates the free market, libertarian characterization of America's economic cultural outlook. If Ayn Rand is going to be mentioned, then so should Keynes and FDR, Kennedy and Milton Friedman and Reagan and neo-classical economics.

Just a little pointer: You don't actually need to post this here-putting it up on an article's talk page is enough. Happy editing, SignaturebrendelHAPPY HOLIDAYS 18:42, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Monetary Metals requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from {{{value1}}}. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfD notices

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Keith Weiner. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Information icon Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Keith Weiner. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. The notice itself clearly says: "this notice must not be removed until the discussion is closed."

You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 20:11, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Keith Weiner

[edit]

Hello, Kirez! As a result of the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Keith Weiner, I have deleted the article Keith Weiner from the encyclopedia and moved it to your personal space where you can work on it. You will find it at User:Kirez/Keith Weiner. Please take note of the concerns expressed at the AfD discussion. The article will not qualify to go into the encyclopedia until it has independent coverage from multiple reliable sources. "Independent" does not include press releases, articles written by the subject, or any personal links such as the subject's web page. "Reliable" means from sources like newspapers that have a reputation for fact checking and accuracy. If it turns out that this gentleman does not have such coverage, it will not be possible to put it back into the encyclopedia. If you think you have found enough sources to demonstrate notability, I suggest you ask me or any administrator to compare it to the article that was deleted. If it is too similar, it will get speedy-deleted per WP:G4. If it IS significantly different/improved, I will put a note on the talk page saying so, so that it will not be speedy-deleted. If you have questions, you can ask here; I will see them. --MelanieN (talk) 23:34, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
