Orphaned non-free image (Image:ProfessorChaos.jpg)
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Thanks for uploading Image:ProfessorChaos.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

100-word list for Oriya
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Good day! Could you help me and provide translations for the following 100 basic word in the Oriya language. Either in the standard Oriya or in your native local variety (dialect) which you speak better (and then indicate please how you call your language /dialect and precise location like state –district – town/village). If there are synonyms or known dialectal variants provide them with comments if possible. Also please indicate if you know that certain words are borrowing. You can fill in right here using either IPA transcription or some other spelling you like (just describe your conventions). Thank you in advance! --Koryakov Yuri 15:13, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Full list truncated for performance/aesthetic reasons; available here.

  • Hi... thanks for your notice. Certainly I would love to help out if I can. I must point out, however, that my ability to write in my parents' native language is not as great as my ability to speak it... that and I have a greater lack of confidence in my ability to write it on a computer using Unicode. Nonetheless, I can certainly try to provide some IPA or other standard transcriptions for you soon. I'll be sure to let you know if/when I can get around to this... as the tag says, I'm busy in real life, but I am happy to help! --Kinu t/c 04:22, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank for answering. Certainly I need words not in original Oriya script but in Roman letters and spelling must not reflect pronounciation strictly. Just usual Latin letters, two vowels for long one and other simplifications are quite welcome. --Koryakov Yuri 08:26, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
I apologize again for taking so long with this... however, I have been working on it (it's quite a fascinating exercise for me as well!) and will let you know when I'm finished. Thanks for your patience! :)--Kinu t/c 16:14, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Kinu. Could I ask for your assistance at The Academy Is... ? An anon IP is trying to do the same thing to the article that Talktotai was doing last night. It is not technically vandalism, however.... Thanks, --Paul Erik 04:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Since it looks to be the same editor, based on the edit pattern, etc., I've gone ahead and blocked the IP temporarily, on the grounds that it is likely the user evading the block by editing anonymously. Help
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

I have a problem with another wikipedian. "User talk:137.240.136.81". I guess it all started when I left a warning on his/her talk page in March 2007 because he/she vandalized a page. Last week, he/she posted the following message on my talk page : "It's a great day for correcting spelling and fixing grammer errors on wikipedia!!!" to provoke me, I guess. so, I responded. Then, he/she posted "who is this? Why are you leaving slander on my talk page?" on my talk page. So I left a warning message on his/her talk page. And now, it seems there's another wikipedian "User talk:137.240.136.80" (same person I guess) vandalized my talk page and left me a warning. This same user removed the messages I posted on 137.240.136.81's talk page. Please, help me! I don't know what to do.--NeptunianDroid 21:02, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Simpsons vandal
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Kinu, is there anything we can do about this guy? We've been reverting his edits for a month now. As mentioned in the abuse report, he shows up every couple of days from a different British Telecom IP address. It's getting tiring having to chase down his edits on such a regular basis. Most recently he's been coming in from 2-3 different addresses in a single day. The only action I've seen on the abuse report is a comment from another admin saying there's nothing we can do but keep chasing after him and banning IP addresses. -FeralDruid 21:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I know it's a pain, but off the top of my head, I can't think of any long-term solution that would be viable. Block and ignore works, but it requires human intervention to do it, which leaves the door open for significant vandalism before anyone catches them. Someone could write a bot script to watch for BT addresses editing particular pages (Simpsons ones), but even that has the potential of flagging a false positive. I figure they'll eventually get bored and go away, but until then, we just have to be on our toes... --Kinu t/c 15:36, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

User:Thorsteinngestsson has been creating essay/argument articles. I'm not sure what to tag them so I tagged it spam . . . was I correct or have I used wrong tags? I at least hope I was correct in tagging them as speedies or I've created a bit of a mess... -WarthogDemon 20:03, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

  • If anything, they look like copyright violations from the AidMarket website, and should be speedied as such. I can take care of that. --Kinu t/c 20:09, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I had my suspicions of that but I couldn't find any direct text. (Maybe I just didn't find the right pages in there or something.) Thus I tagged as spam which was the closest thing I could think of. Thanks though. -WarthogDemon 20:12, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
No problem. Come to think of it, I could only find the direct text on the articles about AidMarket itself... the other ones I can't find, but they do seem to have the AidMarket "mission statement" at the bottom, which probably does make them spam. So I'll leave your {{db-spam}} tags on those and let another set of eyes take a look as well, unless I can find verbatim text somewhere before they get tossed as spam. Thanks! --Kinu t/c 20:16, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Why was my page deleted?

Hi,

I started a page called the Raita Foundation. I'm still in the middle of editing it and it was deleted for some reason. Any idea why? Can I start it again?

THanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raita783 (talkcontribs).

  • The article was deleted because it did not assert the significance or importance of the organization. Since you requested nicely, I have restored the page; however, please edit the page to explain why the foundation is an encyclopedic topic, per the link provided in the previous sentence. I can't guarantee that another administrator won't delete the page in the meantime, but if someone tags it for speedy deletion again, you can place {{hangon}} on the page to signal that you are still working on it. Thanks. --Kinu t/c 05:14, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
    • After reviewing the additions to the article (namely, that it is a newly-founded organization) and seeing as how I cannot find any reliable sources talking about the foundation, I have decided to endorse my own previous speedy deletion. Please see the guidelines as to what constitutes a notable organization (WP:ORG) by Wikipedia standards. --Kinu t/c 05:36, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Kinu

You deleted my Raita page. I provided as much information as possible. I have my articles of incorporation in front of me but don't know how I would go about proving to you that we are a real organization. What else can I do to prove that we are real and thus deserve a wikipedia page? Our only online source is our website and that is under construction. I can provide you with our Tax ID number which is: 20-8837030 and we used Legal Zoom to incorporate as an NPO.

Thank You.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raita783 (talkcontribs).

  • Existing and being an encyclopedic topic are two different things. Please read WP:ORG, which outlines the notability guidelines Wikipedia uses to determine whether an organization is considered an encyclopedic topic. Also, please read WP:RS, which outlines what kind of sourcing is needed to back up any claims of notability. Searching for your organization's name, I was unable to find anything other than the official website, which is not considered an independent, third-party source. I believe that now is not the time to include this organization in Wikipedia; however, once it starts receiving some media coverage, etc., it would surely be notable by encyclopedia standards. --Kinu t/c 06:07, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I see, I don't know why I wasn't told that the first time my page was deleted and I continued to waste time.

Thanks—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raita783 (talkcontribs).

  • Yeah, I figure the "brother" thing is a sham... it's the oldest copout in the book. I'm keeping an eye on that account... if he (or any one of his family members) starts vandalizing again, assuming the constructive edit count remains close to zero, I think any subsequent block needs to be indefinite. I'm assuming good faith and all, but you know how it is. And yeah, school's still out. For now. But come next month, be very afraid. :P --Kinu t/c 04:00, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I am not an avid wikipedia user, but some disturbing content on one particular page was recently brought to my attention. Someone has authored a very negative page that includes potentially slanderous accusations and unverifiable content that seems out of bounds for what I understand wikipedia's mission and policies to be. This page, a "biography" of Fletcher Brothers, is in no way encyclopedic, but intentionally defamatory. I attempted to delete much of this inappropriate content, but you immediately reversed my edits. It is very important that this entry be appropriately written, sans the defamatory and slanderous accusations and negative tone. I would be more than willing to write a complete and neutral entry that includes some of the material (generally) mentioned. Please consider allowing a new article to be written or my deletions to stand. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Truthbetold22 (talkcontribs).

  • There appeared to be an IP that was continuously removing the information, with multiple administrators reverting the edit, and when there's a mass blanking, one is inclined to believe that it's an implausible edit. However, I did look over the deleted content, and from an uninvolved editor standpoint, I'm inclined to agree with your assessment that this content is unsourced and likely does not belong in the article. Indeed, I looked over at WP:BLPN and saw that there is a report for this article. What I would suggest is 1) make a note on the article's talk page (which doesn't exist, so create it), 2) make your edits again (I'd make the summary "see talk page" or something similar), and 3) put a note at the noticeboard I linked to above stating that you've removed some of the unsourced content. Thanks for letting me know about this... this actually is quite ugly and unless it's sourced it definitely violates WP:BLP. --Kinu t/c 21:24, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

removal of duplicate image on baboon
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Dear Kinu,

I noted that you removed the duplicate image in the baboon article. There seems, however, to be a problem as the image is actually mine but it has somehow replaced the info. box image and is now credited under the U.s. fish and wildlife. My suspicion is that when I downloaded my image the other day I inadvertantly used the same name as the original file and overwrote it (or in fact anything could have happened!). Being new to Wikipedia, is there a way to revert back to their image in the info. box and reinsert mine where it was?

Profberger 04:49, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Oops! It looks like I accidentally deleted the wrong one and left your image as the standard baboon image, rather than reverting the original. I think I've fixed the images, as the original USFWS image is back, and fixed Baboon (I've undone my edit so the image you uploaded is back). Thanks for letting me know about this! --Kinu t/c 04:56, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Also, I've looked through some of your photo uploads, and I must say, I am quite impressed... you certainly have some quality images of wildlife, including species for which the encyclopedia is lacking decent pictures, and your willingness to share these with the world through Wikipedia is very much appreciated. :) --Kinu t/c 05:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Kinu, I don't understand... I posted a request for your help here (just learned how to use '=') and it disappeared... maybe some bad guy deleted it for some unknown reason. Too bad... anyway, can you help me get started on Wikipedia? Thanks!, Danglinger

Thanks for your answer!. First, I'm not very used to this editing stuff... so ANYBODY can edit ANYTHING? that's a pretty high risk... anyway... I also have doubts about what can I change/delete and what I can't delete/move... for example, some guy left an annoying message on my talk page... can I remove it? can I delete messages from my talk page? or can I delete a message I posted on your talk page?... Later, I've found several pages that have a clear unpartial position... I think it's safer for many of them to just erase them and start from anew... can I do that?. Last thing... I've checked that useful contributions button and I've found that you've blocked a couple of users... are you some kind of administrator? or anybody can just block users? Thanks, Danglinger.

Hey kinu, I'll be out for some days... If you want, you can use my account to post something... just if you want to. My user name is Danglinger and my password is "dearing"... well if you have an idea, and have some time, you could edit in my name... if you want. I hope nobody else reads this... but who has the time to read others user pages?. Danglinger

An entire article Ravishankar Maharaj has been copied in copyright violation from[1] I have put it for AFD.Should I remove the contents from the page ?It will be blank page or is it okay to wait till the AFD goes through ? Harlowraman 03:13, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, blatant copyright violations usually don't need to go to AfD... they can be tagged for speedy deletion. You can use {{db-copyvio}} to flag these, and an administrator will come along, verify the copyright violation (you can put the url in, for example {{db-copyvio|url=the_url_of_the_source}}, to make it easier), and it will likely get speedy deleted if it meets speedy deletion copyright infringement standards. I would leave the original text, though, for verification purposes. Thanks for bringing this and the others you've sent to AfD to our attention. --Kinu t/c 03:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

You beat me to reporting him. Good job. - Rjd0060 00:45, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I could block him myself, but I feel like the more uninvolved third parties see the problem here, the more legitimate any action will seem... so I decided reporting him for another administrator to deal with is best. Even though it seems like it was in vain, thanks for trying to reason with him. --Kinu t/c 00:46, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
He was only blocked 1 day. I, personally, dont think thats long enough given his serious violations, so I made a report to WP:ANI#User:AGNPH. Just doesn't seem right to me. - Rjd0060 01:04, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes... seems somewhat lenient, considering the account is a SPA and seems to be spam-motivated (arguments by him to the contrary notwithstanding). However, I suppose I see the logic in assuming good faith here by the blocking admin. Needless to say I, like you, will be keeping an eye on this... --Kinu t/c 01:58, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Checkuser for Westacott
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Hi Kinu. Do you think it's worth running a checkuser on the editors contributing to Westacott? I remember there were quite a few accounts adding content, and I doubt they're all different people. If you blocked them all, I suppose it's a moot point, but since the page is gone, I can't check the history. (I suppose a checkuser would also have the advantage of turning up any sleeper socks, but that might be overkill here). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:02, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind I suppose. It looks like you got it taken care of already. Cheers, --Bfigura (talk) 05:04, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
  • No problem... but yes, it's safe to assume they're all the same people... User:N3crotic "conveniently" got caught in the autoblock of one of User:Keablemonster. That pretty much sealed the deal. I've gone ahead and blocked that one, as well as User:Devilz. All of these appear to be disruptive throwaway accounts, so ultimately a WP:RFCU seems somewhat unnecessary. Probably just some bored kids... :P --Kinu t/c 05:06, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Oops, my mistake! I meant to remove the user's trollish comments... didn't mean to take your warning out with it. I'll restore it. :D --Kinu t/c 00:37, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I've been a bit wikistressed lately by a few admins so thanks for speedy response. :) DuncanHill 00:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

When you have a moment, I would like to talk with you about this user. I saw on his talk page that you and he had a conflict regarding the deletion of the "Antistasiology" article that he created. Recently, he has added what I regard as irrelevant information about some group called "Feederz" (who figured somehow in the previous article as well) into the Situationist article. I know not if he is affiliated or involved with "Feederz" (whatever that may entail) in some way, shape, or form, but his edits are becoming tedious and I am on the verge of an edit war with him. This is something I would like to avoid. Your advice would be welcome. Thanks for your time. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 17:31, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Amazingalistair/Bobbyisalegend 143214 meatpuppet
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

I have several points to make about this. Number one it is Meatpuppetry not sockpuppetry I know this beacuse I was involved in it directly. By that I meen I told them about a situation and they made similar edits. Number two you wrote "The next time you try to abuse multiple accounts, at least make your unblock requests not look a copy-paste job. Obviously denied" I see your reason but because it's meatpuppetry it means one of them thought of it first. Bobbyisalegend 143214 made the first edit at 21:43 on the 21st of October and Amazingalistair did it at 21:45. This means that Bobbyisalegend 143214 thought of it first plus I know it was him beause he told me and Alistair (Amazingalistair) that he was doing it. I am a personal freind of them both he told us on the 20th of october around 12:00. This means that Bobby should be ublocked and AmazingAlistair should stay blocked. number 3 on the request it states "I got no warnig before this "Everyone was new once, and most of us made mistakes"" This is true in BOTH cases that means they were unrightfully blocked and that matter should be classed as a mistake by User:MastCell. I also had no warning about it but because my block was only for 24 hours I did not complain. I know I have only said this because I know the two users and I am also the one who persuaded them into coming to wikipedia and I know they wanted to make positve edits to wikipedia despite this I can not try to persuade you that what me and the other two users did was right I can try to persuade you that if they come back they will make positive edits. I do believe this beause I know them well they use wikipedia alot for research and know how important it is to researchers. I know they will make positives edits to wikipedia if they are unblocked. To some it up I and both users were blocked with no warning what so ever. This means we were unfairly blocked. You have presumed that this is sockpuppetry in which case they shouldn't be unblocked but because this is meatpuppetry it is diffrent. It is meatpuppetry I wrote on my own user page "Not that it makes much diffrences but it was meatpuppetry." dated 15:43, 5 October 2007 well before the whole situation of them trying to be unblocked started (little did I know it does make a diffrence). I know you cant do anything for two more days as you are away but I hope for this to sorted out as it is very important to several wikipedians. mattypc 23:01, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Multiple administrators (including I) found the sock/meat/whateverpuppetry disruptive and have reasonable suspicion that the accounts are throwaway accounts that were used only to make a point regarding a deletion issue. If these other users (whom I will assume are other users, to give you the benefit of the doubt) actually do wish to contribute constructively, they should distance themselves from the meatpuppetry, a suggestion I extend to you as well by recusing yourself from this issue further. They should either e-mail [unblock-en-l] to have their request considered, or simply create new accounts and avoid any sort of meatpuppetry in the future. --Kinu t/c 19:36, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks so much, Kinu, for your swift response regarding the editing of this page. However, there is one issue- the school is real. They are a brand new school and as of yet unaccredited by anyone or anything, but they might (I stress might) change. The issue with user Ohmssoo7 that I reported is he was editing the page to be an advertisement for this school and included entirely useless and unconstructive information. I would suggest the page be restored and left to the merciless hands of editors. There is currently another article for a different school in the Caribbean that is also new and unaccredited by anyone, Caribbean Medical University, tho they have applied for actual recognition. Bstone 07:05, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for letting me know... but, well, quite frankly, I'm not so sure the school is real. I've been doing a little digging and I find zero information on it outside of press releases, message board posts, etc., by users named "Ohmssoo7" and so forth. The people don't appear to be real individuals, the contact information is bogus (the phone number gets cross-referenced to something called "WEED ABATEMENT INC." and the fax is for "Clearly Yosemite"), the address is for a mall, and the official website is a dead-end (i.e., testimonials seem like a joke). This is in contrast to Caribbean Medical University, which I can actually find citations for elsewhere. This is why I think this is part of some poorly constructed spam campaign by Ohmssoo7 (who may well be the "chancellor"). I'm willing to restore the page, but I seriously doubt that there is anything to this beyond the scam of sending in PayPal funds. I suggest checking this out, which takes the cake. Perhaps AfD would be reasonable in sorting out, once and for all, what is going on here... what are your thoughts? --Kinu t/c 07:13, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Looks like you've done more research than I. I was editing to article based off the website and off the facts that it's accredited nowhere. I did email one of the listed professors for the school (who is a real academic) and he did indicate he was asked to teach there and said he would, but said it's not a good place for becoming a real doctor. If the page did exist then it would be in a form stating how it's probably a fake school, unless, of course, they become accredited. That would be interesting. I am not, however, pushing for the page to be re-created. Bstone 07:33, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah, it's a strange case... without the WP:V to back it up, it does seem like spam, given the lack of any other editors to the article other than the aforementioned User:Ohmssoo7 (who is actually apparently the AMSA president "Saul" mentioned on the school website, per [3]... funny how an unaccredited medical college claims to be a part of AMSA). This is reeking too much of the movie Accepted. I'm going to stick by a the CSD G11 deletion, seeing as how deleting the repeatedly introduced spam content leaves nothing of value. If anyone wants to recreate it using sources, I suppose they can, but good luck to them. :P --Kinu t/c 13:48, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Question on Slang
This discussion has been archived and should not be modified. To comment, please create a new topic at the bottom of my current talk page by clicking here.

Hi friend, just a quick question: Should rap articles have the word "beef" in them to describe a "feud" or an "argument"? My thinking was that "beef" is colloquial slang, ergo, it might not be understood by the masses that read Wikipedia articles. Any thoughts on that? Much appreciated in advance. ScarianTalk 00:51, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

  • In my opinion, I'd go with replacing "beef" with "argument" or something to that effect... the use of "beef" seems too "street" and doesn't seem like encyclopedic prose. Also, there's the possibility that it might be confusing to non-native (American slang) English speakers. I definitely think your going through and replacing the term is a good idea! --Kinu t/c 00:54, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks buddy, appreciate the support :-) Have a great day! ScarianTalk 00:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Erm... have received a bit of trouble concerning "beef"... [4] and he also left another message for me a couple of edits later... I haven't responded. It's your call. ScarianTalk 20:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Good call on not responding. Don't feed the trolls. I've blocked him for a week for violating WP:CIVIL. Maybe he'll calm down, but only time will tell. Thanks for letting me know. --Kinu t/c 22:22, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

No worries. Thanks for taking that one out quickly. Is it safe to undo what he has done? ScarianTalk 22:54, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello,Kinu

seems like the Phil Hendrie Page is getting vandalize once again 207.136.230.22(talk) has been asserting false claims about his demise here is the link [5]. Looking at his or her edit history it seems this user was warned on numerous occasions for prior offenses to Wiki. Can you please ban the user before more non-sensical vandalism takes place.. Thank You ELO MnLynx Fan77 00:29, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

you're welcome,Kinu. Looking at 207.136.230.22 past history, I got a feeling this user will strike again once the block expires. I'll keep an eye on this user, or any other user who keeps on violating wiki's WP:BLP policy ELO MnLynx Fan77 00:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Part of your reason for denying this user's unblock request was that he made 4 unconstructive edits between being warned at 19:56 and being blocked at 20:38. However, looking at his contributions, I believe that this isn't the case. I'm not necessarily contesting the block, I'm just pointing out the fact.--Danaman5 04:13, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand what copyrighted information, etc I have included on Wikipedia? I am the original author of everything you see there? Please advise. Skyler Morgan 04:09, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

I am actually the original author of that article which is also featured on their official MySpace page, their official website and others. Every word of it was written by me. This can be verified through any member of the band. I was using that as a skeleton for my Wiki entry, and in the process of adding and making changes to it, as well as citing sources. Please revert the deletion. Respectfully Skyler Morgan 04:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Mark Marek

Kinu, I really feel that you overreacted by blocking MarkMarek indefinitely. He'd been a productive editor, he got in an edit war over someone going against consensus, he was blocked temporarily, he got upset because he felt that he had done nothing wrong.

He overreacted, yes, but so (I feel) did you.

Would you have any objection to him being unblocked? DS (talk) 18:50, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I came here to post the same message. If the blocking admin had taken an extra 30 seconds to explain the typical procedure for 3RR violations, this could have been avoided. Not to mention the unnecessary (albeit hilarious) unblock request denial given by east718. LaraLove 18:53, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
  • I have no objection to an unblock if he can convey an understanding that ad hominem attacks (like his references to administrator abuse and, primarily, the insertion of the penis picture) have no place in the scope of a collaborative project. --Kinu t/c 18:56, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Did you actually click the link? It's a text banner, no penis. I'm going to unblock, but I'll keep an eye on him. LaraLove 18:58, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
No, I merely looked at the URL. I didn't personally feel it was worth dignifying the link by waiting for it to load, because it was clearly in some sort of bad taste. --Kinu t/c 18:59, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Howdy, I was wondering if I could ask you a question. I'm a fairly new admin, and I spotted your work on FHSMUN Board of Directors. I concur with your judgment that the page did not assert notability. You seem to have deleted it the first time it came up, but tagged it for speedy the second time. Was this to get a second opinion? If so, is this a recommended procedure (when, presumably, the contribution is made in good faith)? Or was there another reason for it? Thanks, --TeaDrinker (talk) 18:17, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Hi... it wasn't so much a "second opinion" based on any doubt on my part. It was more for the sake of showing the creator of the article that my deletion wasn't based on anything malicious, but is rather grounded in policy that would also be enforced by another admin. I felt that the article was created in good faith more or less and didn't want to look like I was biting. I wouldn't say it's customary to do this, but I feel it's help to prevent any sort of "ZOMG WHY DID YOU DELETE MY ARTICLE" type messages, so it might work for you too. :) I hope this helps! --Kinu t/c 18:32, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
