Kinu -- stop reverting without discussing
Whats the deal? You keep reverting despite arguments I have made in discussion. This constitutes vandalism, I think. If you really disagree with my addition, make some arguments and we may need mediation. -PStrait
- Sorry, didn't see the discussion... I merely picked up that repeated edits were being made while I was on recent changes patrol. I have no vested interest in the page, so I'll let those who do discuss and act accordingly. And having been a Wikipedian for quite some time now, I am fully aware of the 3RR and had no intention of violating it. Thanks for the note. --Kinu t/c 05:09, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
sorry for my hostile tone
Hi Kinu,
Sorry for my hostile tone-- I am new to wikipedia (in terms of editing, not reading) and am still learning about the ins and outs of how articles change. My only interest in this article is that I noticed that a long time ago a similar entry had been deleted for lack of qualified sourcing, and so I thought better sourcing would retain it, and I thought this issue in particular would be a good litmus test b/c its totally disgusting and I figured some people would object on those grounds and try to find excuses to delete.
PStrait
I think that one criteria for speedy deletion is more than enough. Posting THREE of them is almost an attack on the user who created the article. JPG-GR 05:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- Creating nonsensical articles about "the biggest tool" in one's fraternity is almost an attack on Wikipedia. I'm certain that notation of three {{db}} criteria is acceptable if all such criteria (A1, A7, and G10) are legitimate. But in all fairness, I don't want to look like a dick or make it appear that I'm biting the user who created it, so I'll keep that in mind. --Kinu t/c 05:07, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

- No problem! I discovered the hard way that non-alphanumeric characters have to be written as they are, and that the Wiki software can't back-convert the %21 to ! like a browser would. Glad I could help. :) --Kinu t/c 20:30, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

- Another user and I have sufficiently addressed this issue on your talk page. And I would keep in mind that, despite your role, it's not your own property; it's property of the college. It must be officially released under GFDL to meet copyright requirements here. --Kinu t/c 17:54, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Thinking about this deletion, shouldn't you have told these high school students that their article was up for deletion using {{PRODWarning}}? Assuming that they know as much as you do, when they clearly don't, really is as bad as violating WP:BITE. Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 23:17, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Considering that the only contributor to the article removed the PROD tag almost immediately after I added it, it's kind of a moot point, don't you think? --Kinu t/c 23:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not really. People will balk at the idea of the articles being deleted, and when they're suddenly moved to AfD it can be a very intimidating experience. It's not uncommon for new users to remove prod tags as a knee-jerk reaction, without really understanding what they mean: you really need to make absolutely sure they know what's going on, especially if they're as obviously a well-meaning new user as this one. Even placing a tag on their talk page goes a long way toward avoiding an unpleasant "you deleted my article, fuck you all" reaction. --Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 23:44, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- A reasonable point. I tend to drop notes on new user talk pages every so often, but I'll do my part to be more cognizant of the repercussions you've alluded to in the future. --Kinu t/c 05:23, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Cyber Empires
Hi. I'm new at editing Wikipedia and not at all familiar with citing sources. I didn't have any on a tiny article I wrote, Cyber Empires. I put one citation in but could not get it to work, so I was letting you know I will figure it out myself. If I don't and someone does not come along and fix it on their own, I will refer back to you to see if you can help or just nominate it for deletion. Thanks.
Virtutti Militari
Do you know when the protection for Virtutti Militari will kick in? You're right, this is getting way out of hand with that idiot.

- You can talk about criticism of the movie that's been published in reputable, third party sources. Your own criticism, however, would fall under the purview of WP:NOR and WP:NPOV. I admit the current article is a little too much of a praise piece, but replacing POV content with POV content doesn't do much benefit. Thanks. --Kinu t/c 20:50, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello Kinu. How are you? I see that you have deleted/edited my editing of the Greed Jersey page and my new NRV Poker League page. I would sincerely appreciate it if you would allow me to finish creating my NRV page...at which time I am sure you will see that my "homegame" transcends the recent poker phenomenon and will provide a stastical data system that actally can be used by the millions of players involved in regular poker home games. Thank you Kinu.

- Wikipedia has inclusion standards for groups and organization. It is impossible to find reliable sources indicating this group even exists (see Google), let alone any indication that it is notable. Nothing personal, but unless these standards are met, this article will be deleted, and speedily if there is no assertion of notability whatsoever. Perhaps Wikipedia is not the appropriate venue for all the information mentioned above... it is not a free webhost. Try Geocities or another such provider. --Kinu t/c 16:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC) (copied from Talk:NRV Poker League)

History of Burnside High School
Hi, Kinu
I understand about your opinion on the History of Burnside Article merging with the Burnside High School Article, but unfortunately, by the time I've finished writing the article (expect it mostly finished by 30/11/06) it will be too long for the article.
At this time, I've commented out the Mergeto tag.
If you feel otherwise, please do feel free to tell me
Thanks rpgsimmaster
- Thanks for your note. I'll revisit this in a couple of weeks. --Kinu t/c 06:09, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi! You added this to CfD, but it was actually a candidate for speedy deletion, as it had just been created minutes earlier by a drive-by vandal, along with Category:Men without hats. The speedy deletion criteria WP:CSD#G1 which is {{db-nonsense}} is a general criteria; it can be used on all wikispace, including categories..-- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 07:12, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kinu. I'm not trying to make this personal, but disagree with your nomination for the deletion of the Sarah Jacobson article. I've left some comments that have been...hmmm...critical of your nomination and compare it to some of the articles you have written. I'm not in the band The Shiny Diamonds
In fact, I have never even met them before. I currently live in Paris and they live in Vancouver (my home town). I heard their music for the first time today on their myspace page. I created the shiny diamonds controversy page because I firmly believe that it can meet all wikipedia policies and guidelines. It has been covered by CBC Radio One, the Washington Post, and by City News International. My main motivation for getting this one article to stay alive is that I believe that wikipedia should not become the sum of SOME human knowledge. I recently learned that I'm an inclusionist. Because I'm a still learning the proper ways to create articles on Wikipedia, I have probably screwed it all up. I could really use some help from someone like you. Citation
Hi
Was there anything specific you wanted citation on with Terezka Drnzik? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Avenig (talk • contribs) 06:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC).
- Hi there... just a few sources based on WP:RS would be nice. Right now, the only external link provided is to Ms. Drnzik's website, which can be used as a source of information, but does not count as a "neutral, third-party" source in terms of demonstrating whether she meets inclusion criteria. Some mention of her accomplishments as reported by some other sources, for example the media, would definitely help ascertain notability. I was unable to find sources on my own (searching for her name did not get me too many results), so I thought I'd leave it up to you to see what you could dig up. If you need anything else, just let me know. Thanks! --Kinu t/c 06:57, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi There
I've found more links for Terezka. The most compelling is an interview with Rozeta Ahalyea, Terezka's teacher, where it is stated "Through Rozeta, Terezka learned to follow her passion and went on to establish Sydney’s first full time Bellydance school."
There is an article on Terezka in the Palace magazine but it's in hardcopy form.

Parramatta Wharf
Hi Kinu - the wharf is named using the Sydney naming conventions established by WikiProject Australia and WikiProject Sydney. Our railway stations are "X railway station, Sydney", and our ferry wharves are "X ferry wharf, Sydney", etc. There's a redirect from the proper name so people who type that in will still get the right page. It was done to avoid mixups with any other named wharves or railway stations. JROBBO 05:37, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
History of Burnside High School(again)
Wow, your talk page is long. It even has my comment from last time!
Anyway, I understand your reason for putting the mergeto tag back on History of Burnside High School
I agree with the idea of a merge, as the page is somewhat incomplete/lacking to be a proper article at this time, however I would be interested to know what information do you think needs to be cut down before it is merged. I know you said size is irrelevant, but I'm sure you'll agree that the page is... long.
Please take a few moments to review the page itself, then please reply on my talk page directly (if you don't make the changes yourself)

I won't belabor the point, as I suppose there's always the page history to fall back on, but I tend to disagree with someone other than the user themselves taking things off of their talk page. There was a reason that I did an individual tag for each of the articles; there's no way of knowing if the user saw them all or not. As I say, not worth any sort of hassle. Have good days.—Chidom talk 07:57, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- In my discussion with User:Canadian-Bacon at WP:AIV, it appeared that the vandalism was more of a misunderstanding and less of an attempt to disrupt the encyclopedia... assuming good faith, I felt the one warning was sufficient. Didn't mean to step on your toes, if that's how you feel. --Kinu t/c 08:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
The Good Show
Hi Kinu, I thought I would comment on your tagging of the entry I wrote for my radio show, The Good Show. I guess I'll try to make a bit of a case here and see if we can satisfy all guidelines by fleshing out the entry. It's not my ambition to clutter things up. :)
First of all, I did add a link to a cover story run last year about the show in Fort Worth's alt-weekly, the Fort Worth Weekly. That's a sample of the coverage we have received but it's not all. I can add more links if that helps satisfy the Notability guideline.
Also, as we have been on the air for six years, we have built a cult following in Tarrant County and on the Internet (we stream live and offer mp3 downloads) that is nontrivial. We're not Howard Stern but we're not Billy's College Radio Show, either. Increasingly we get questioned about the history of the show and I think that Wikipedia is a reasonable place for that, given that other local shows appear to exist here (BaD Radio being the one that gave me the idea).
Honestly, after recent cancellations of other shows, we are probably the pre-eminent radio show for showcasing local and alternative music in a metropolitan area of nearly six million people. Live performances from our show have apparently aired on the BBC and later resulted in live BBC sessions for John Peel. (See here and here under "Captured Radio Waves Vol. 1" which was the Baptist Generals' live performance on our show.) I respect and appreciate the need to save namespace on Wikipedia for noteworthy things, but by dint of our longevity, our critical acclaim, and the role we play in promoting talent from our region, I think we just do pass that test. Maybe not by much. But by some.
And yeah, it's lame that I'm writing an entry for my own radio show, but nobody else who is willing to type it all out knows all the stuff about it I do. :)
Thanks for all your work with Wikipedia. I trust that no matter which way this goes that you are being as fair as you can be in your evaluations. -- Cbellomy 07:14, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Why did you redirect this article from its proper title When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?, which includes a question mark??? SFTVLGUY2 22:49, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I redirected to the other article because it had been edited more recently than the other one, so I assumed it contained more information, because you are the author of both. - If you look at what you claim will prove it, you'll see the second article supposedly was written one minute after the first. Apparently this is a Wikipedia glitch. When I tried to "Save Page" the first time, Wikipedia responded there was no such article with that title. Of course there wasn't, I was creating it for the first time. So I hit "Save Page" again. Perhaps this created a second article. All I know is I only created one. Happy New Year. SFTVLGUY2 23:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. Check out [1]. If I had created two separate articles, they would be listed here . . . and this history shows only one. As I said, it must have been a glitch. SFTVLGUY2 23:46, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- This is a result of the completion of the page move, and thus is also reflected in the logs for the individual pages also. (The original question marked version was deleted to make way for the move, per here, and thus won't show up in any logs, yours or mine). Glad to see it's been completed. --Kinu t/c (éŕ) 00:54, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

You are one of three editors that expressed interest in seeing the deleted history of the article for the deletion review, which is on the 28th of December. It is now available. GRBerry 04:00, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

- I reverted the article to a redirect because I find no evidence of anything you've written. Feel free to recreate the article after you find WP:RS indicating that this information is true. --Kinu t/c 09:00, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Re: Completed Articles Archive/November 2006

- Oops... looks like it was just a case of the article being in the wrong namespace. I've moved it to Wikipedia:WikiProject League of Copyeditors/Completed Articles Archive/November 2006 and updated the links to it. --Kinu t/c 21:35, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks--I'm a bit of a noob and I'm trying things out. I just created December 2006 as well but I think I did it wrong. Help? Galena11 21:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks...

- No problem! --Kinu t/c 21:55, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Be aware that the user that did the vandalism attempted to make their userpage look like Kinu had threatened him. I put on a 24 hour block before I saw this. I suspect that a longer block is in order, plus template NPA6. If you want this to occur, please ask alphachimp (who reverted the edit) or another admin. In my RFA that just closed last week I said I wasn't familiar with blocking and likely would not be doing much blocking, and the critical need for damage control is over for the next 24 hours, so I'm tossing the ball in your court. Deletion of Rose R Kemeny article
Dear Kinu,
The obituary article you quote in one that I wrote! The article is factual, and if you read it it is not merely an obituary, but tells some of the biography of an important person in history. She belongs in Wikipedia. As to style, I am not a professional encyclopedia writer, and open to correct/suggestions.

Qustion
I put an optional question up on your current RFA. You have no obligation to answer it, but it would be cool if you did. Thanks! S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 22:31, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- No problem... I've got a few other questions to answer, so I'll take a look at yours along with those. I'll drop you a note when I've got it answered! --Kinu t/c 00:02, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Chinese singers up for AfD
Hi there, I noticed that you have contributed to the Chinese singers article. I wanted to let you know that the current article is a proposed Article for Deletion. You may wish to speak on this article in the current discussion. Luke! 02:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I think it is interesting. I modeled my page after another page about the same content and one stays and mine goes?

- The article was likely deleted because of the concern on the speedy deletion statement: that it was about a website but did not assert the importance or significance of the subject. You are welcome to create a sourced article on this subject; however, I would recommend avoiding recreating the article without visiting WP:WEB beforehand, to determine what constitutes notability for websites. Thanks for your note. --Kinu t/c 06:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Also, in the interim, I would avoid recreating the article, as it may likely be repeatedly deleted (and you might be unfairly flagged for vandalism, which is not good). I would make a case at deletion review to have the speedy deletion overturned, if you believe it was not a speedily deletable article... in which case the article may be submitted for consideration at Articles for Deletion. --Kinu t/c 06:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC).
whatever, I am giving up on wiki. I read the "cannon of noteriaty" or whatever you call it, and with my legal education, I believe that it met at least 1 criteria, but I guess I was wrong.. ::shrugs::
