Speedy deletion nomination of Consumer Warning Network
[edit]A tag has been placed on Consumer Warning Network, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Consumer Warning Network and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Page titles
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Westwood College of Technology a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Westwood College. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. R'n'B (call me Russ) 15:55, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Russ. Thanks for pointing this out. I thought I did use the Move feature correctly but it appears I did not. Could you instruct me on specific next steps that need to be taken. It sounds like I need to have the Westwood College taken down and then Westwood College of Technology redirected to a new Westwood College page. Is this correct? If so, can I take care of it?
Replaceable fair use File:Sandy Espinet in 2009.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sandy Espinet in 2009.PNG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 19:27, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Espinet Design 2009.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Espinet Design 2009.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 01:39, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

This article was removed and I didn't see the notice until it was too late. How can we improve it to stay up as I think she is a notable interior designer.

- Take a look at WP:Notability and make sure that you can demonstrate that the article meets the criteria there. If you have not done so already, you can ask the deleting admin to userfy the article, so that you may work on it in your userspace with little risk of it being deleted again. When it is ready to be put back into mainspace, you can then move it back; I would suggest checking with the deleting admin before moving it back. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 21:05, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Considering all the notices above, I suggest that you a) read WP:FIRST, and b) create any more new articles in a user-space draft and ask others to check them before making them live.
For more help, you can either;
- Leave a message on my own talk page;
OR
- Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end;
OR
- Talk to us live, with this or this.
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Chzz ► 21:14, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of FASTSIGNS
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on FASTSIGNS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eeekster (talk) 19:42, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Cleaning up your talk page
[edit]I notice you're collecting a lot of template messages from other editors on this page for a lot of old closed business. If you find stuff like that on an article talk page or someone else's user talk page, you're supposed to leave it. But on your own talk page, you can discard anything you don't like. The only thing you should not do is edit someone else's remark: It can stay or go but if it stays, it should stay the way it was posted. I didn't realize you could delete stuff until very recently but I could be a little slow, so apologies if I'm telling you something you already know. Cheers, Msnicki (talk) 15:30, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article FASTSIGNS is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FASTSIGNS until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sandstein 16:29, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
