Syntax for redirects
[edit]Hi. You recently created Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope International and two other, similar entries, which all redirect to a section in an existing article. The syntax, which you used for the redirects, was incorrect, however. I've modified them so they work as intended. You might want to have a look at the source to see how it's done. Cheers, Favonian (talk) 11:55, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Vanitas
[edit]i am not questioning whether Vanitas is his name or not, but the translation to his name is unclear. his name is of course Latin, but does not directly translate "emptiness". Unlike Terra aqua or ven, Vanitas is an abstract latin word. therefore shouldn't have a direct translation until the creator mentions his intentions behind it.Bread Ninja (talk) 16:26, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I understand, I misunderstood at first. Sorry. KiasuKiasiMan (talk) 06:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Metal Gear move
[edit]I seriously wished you informed about your request to move Metal Gear to Metal Gear (video game) and used Metal Gear (series), since I edited that article more than any other user that I know of (yourself included). I personally think its ridiculous to move an article about the first game in the series to the "Game Title (video game)" just because the series in general is more well known. Searching for Metroid and Super Mario Bros. redirects you to the original games, so I don't know why other series has to be different. Technically speaking, the Metal Gear Solid series is much better than the earlier games, which were simply titled Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. Jonny2x4 (talk) 18:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
"Metal Gear (series)" vs. "Metal Gear"
[edit]While some of the content of the immediately preceding talk secn Metal Gear move is a little more pertinent than the edit-summary on the unilateral action that User:Jonny2x4 took 4 hours later, in light of OWN, you acted reasonably, and Jonny2x4 did not in either his msg above to you or his own move. I hope you will note my response to the situation at Talk:Metal Gear (series)#Reversal of move, and consider participating in the discussion in that sec'n. Thanks for your contributions.

Better source request for File:Baneling attack (StarCraft).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Baneling attack (StarCraft).jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Year categories
[edit]KKM, I don't know if you missed the discussion at WP:VG but the categorisation criteria for video games has changed. Games should only be added to categories like 2011 video games if they have a full ddmmyy date from a reliable source. Games that have date like Q1 2011 or November 2011 and a citation should be placed in Category:Upcoming video games scheduled for 2011 and Category:Upcoming video games. If they have just a year or no citation they should go in just Category:Upcoming video games - X201 (talk) 09:58, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:River_Safari.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:River_Safari.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. Hi. Could you try and make the release dates in that article correctly sortable? For example, where it says "December 9, 2010" you add
before the release date. If it's only a specific quarter: for example, Q4 2010, you can use 2010-09-00
. If it's only a specific month: for example, October 2010, you can use 2010-10-00
. Finally, if it's only a specific year: for example, 2010, you can use 2010-00-00
.
Also, please try to fix the two notes inside the table.
Please reply here. Best regards, HeyMid (contributions) 23:54, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've fixed both issues myself, so no need for you to do anything to the above. HeyMid (contributions) 12:51, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Unblock Request
[edit]KiasuKiasiMan (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
global block — My IP Address range has been blocked because of it being an "Open Proxy" however the real reason if because my ISP , Singtel, shares the IP among its users which results in numerous users having the IP address. Thus I'm being blocked for something which I did not do. The message is as follows: You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia. You can still read pages, but cannot edit, change, or create them. Editing from your IP address or IP address range has been disabled on all wikis by Shizhao (meta.wikimedia.org). The reason given was "Open proxy". To request unblock, visit your talk page and add the text {{unblock}}. Replace "REASON" with the reason for requesting unblock. Additionally, you may appeal the global block at Steward requests/Global. The block expires on 21 October 2011 at 09:09.
Decline reason:
There is not enough information here for an admin to be able to do anything - see Template:Autoblock. We cannot know your IP from your username, so I cannot view the appropriate block message. In addition I suspect from your notice that this is rangeblock applied from a meta account - if so, I know that "Rangeblocks that were made from a meta account are done by stewards and they can be treated as a {{checkuserblock}}", which means that a normal admin should not unblock until a checkuser has reviewed the data Ronhjones (Talk) 01:56, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Infinity Blade
[edit]Hi, I saw that you can currently not edit, sorry for that. For this reason I nominated Infinity Blade at Template talk:Did you know on your behalf. If you are not happy with my nomination, feel free to drop a notice here (I will watch for a few days) or send me an email via the link on my user page (not sure whether you're allowed to do that, though). Cheers, Pgallert (talk) 07:59, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Infinity Blade
[edit]On 20 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Infinity Blade, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the action role-playing game Infinity Blade is the fastest grossing application on Apple's iOS, selling 271,424 copies in merely four days? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

infamous
[edit]I think you are jumping way too fast to assume that there is an "infamous series" for the games. There are only two games, and a tie in comic, and a possible movie. At this point, they've not said anything about a 3rd game, and I don't see people talking about the "infamous series" as much as "the game and its sequel". --MASEM (t) 14:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- I see where you are coming from, but at the same time, a game and its sequels do not always get called a series by the video game media. I'm not going to change what you've done but will post a better question at the VG project because we probably need better rules there. --MASEM (t) 15:22, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, and I do see some sources using the phrasing, so that's probably more evidence for it. --MASEM (t) 15:24, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Template: Major Tourist Attractions in Singapore
[edit]The section for the Amusement Parks and Nature Parks should be reconsidered. Do you think Haw Par Villa should be included as part of the Amusement Parks, as it is a mythological theme park? The Nature Parks section may need to be look into again. According to the National Parks Singapore, the Nature Parks listed aren't the same as the ones mentioned in the section. As you are the creator of the template, I'm not sure how you would define the Nature Park mentioned here. Please look into it. Thanks! =) -- Iluvml93 (talk) 15:06, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- I included Haw Par Villa. As for the Nature Parks anything is fine by me. I added the pages based on the Category of nature parks in Singapore. SO you can edit it however you like. Thanks for notifying me, I appreciate it.KiasuKiasiMan 11:22, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
