[edit]Thank you for your comments. Please note that, on Wikipedia, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of the arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. If your comments concerned a deletion discussion, please consider reading Wikipedia's deletion policy for a brief overview of the deletion process. We hope that you decide to stay and contribute even more. Thank you! §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:08, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hello, I disagree with this block. My name is Natharoun Ngo. I was blocked because of my participation in the deletion talk for Lois de Menil. I am Cambodian, and am interested in matters related to culture preservation, human rights and development in my country. I served as Cambodia's Country Administrator for Doctors Without Borders, and also for The United Nations Development Program in Cambodia. I am now pursuing mid career program studies and am based in Boston MA. Please google me for confirmation of this. Vwikiv contacted me via email regarding the deletion of Lois de Menil's wikipedia entry. I created a Wikipedia account in order to participate in the discussion. I have been working with CKS, and with CKS staffs. The opinions I expressed in the discussion are my own. I was not coerced or paid. The Center for Khmer Studies contributions to Cambodia are notable. Lois de Menil founded CKS, and is well regarded in Cambodia. I would like to know how I can verify my identity to Wikipedia's administrators.
Decline reason:
Thank you for confirming meatpuppetry. Wikipedia takes a very dim view of attempts of votestacking by off-wiki canvassing, and if you were summoned merely to support Vwikiv's position in a debate, Wikipedia considers you and her one and the same for practical purposes. Furthermore, your story does not explain the technical evidence. Huon (talk) 21:20, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:
First I am accused of being a sockpuppet. Now that I have confirmed my identity the accusation has shifted to meatpuppet. Until today I had never heard of either term. Nevertheless, I will attempt to clarify.
The opinions I expressed are my own. My background supports my interest in Cambodian development and cultural affairs. My knowledge of these matters is at least as deep as that of any of the other participants of the talk page. I vigorously deny Huon's opinion that I participated as a puppet of another user. As I stated, the issue was brought to my attention by Vwikiv. From that point on, the opinions I stated were my own. I would not blindly support Vwikiv on an issue I do not agree with her on. Therefore I am not a puppet.
I care deeply about Cambodian issues. My background confirms this. I had every right to participate in the discussion regarding Lois de Menil's work in Cambodia.
p.s. What "technical evidence" are you referring to? Without knowledge of this evidence it is impossible for me to know what you are talking about. This sounds more and more like an arbitrary trial rather than the free internet.
Decline reason:
At this point, we don't care whether you're a sockpuppet or meatpuppet, the result is the same, i.e. block. And you still haven't addressed the technical match with your alleged friend. Also, "I had every right to participate in the discussion regarding Lois de Menil's work in Cambodia" is not the case as we don't like people appearing out of nowhere attempting to change the outcome of a contentious discussion. Editing Wikipedia is not a right but a privilege that we, the Wikipedia community can take away. Max Semenik (talk) 07:45, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

{unblock| At this stage your position to assume that I am biased is not more or less valid than my position ensuring you that I am not. The only difference is that I have revealed my identity and that therefore I am ready to take any required step to prove my goodwill and the truth of my words, in compliance with Wikipedia rules. Whether participation is a right or a privilege is not the issue. The issue is whether I have broken a Wikipedia rule. Wikipedia's policies do allow new users to participate in discussions. Wikipedia in fact needs new users to replenish and expand it ranks. I for instance look forward to contributing to Wikipedia on matters related to Cambodia. I also ask the following question: Why do you keep bringing up "technical match with your alleged friend?" I would like to defend myself against this allegation but it is impossible unless I know what the conclusion was based on. I request the administration to provide me with that information.
