Speedy deletion nomination of Jallikattu Premier League

[edit]

Hello Kevinado10,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jallikattu Premier League for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi there, at Wikipedia we don't just write about everything, we write about subjects that are notable. It is the article creator's responsibility to properly establish that a subject, like Jallikattu Premier League meets our notability guidelines. The relevant one here is is probably our General Notability Guideline, which states that "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." The guideline further explains what constitutes "significant coverage" (i.e. not just passing mentions), etc. Currently the article fails to meet our general notability guideline, largely because you've added no references to reliable sources speak about this subject in depth. In order for this article to survive, you're going to have to demonstrate that this is a subject mainstream press cares about. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:48, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
