Help me!

[edit]

It is 2 weeks gone already and our article is not approved yet. Whom to ask if this is possible in nearest days? Please check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virkeni_Manor

Hi KetijaM, There is a large backlog currently so you wait have to wait up to 90 days where at which point it will automatically be marked as reviewed. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 14:25, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, KetijaM, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Virkeni Manor, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:26, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello KetijaM. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:KetijaM. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=KetijaM|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:27, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article moved to Draft namespace

[edit]

Hi KetijaM, there seem to be multiple issues with the article. For example, it seems to be a closely paraphrased translation of its sources, and it does not seem to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, specifically our notability guideline about geographical features.

For this reason, I have moved the article to Draft:Virkeni Manor, where it can be improved and submitted for review. If you strongly disagree, you may undo the move and have a regular deletion discussion instead.

Please carefully read the messages above as well. If you are receiving compensation for your edits, you may not continue editing before you have properly disclosed this. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 15:00, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

April 2019 answer

Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist and topic subscriptions to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

KetijaM (talk) 13:26, 25 April 2019 (UTC) Thank you for your answer. So, here are my answer - Virkeni Manor is a historical place in Latvia and there was very poor information about it. The owners collected everything and wanted to add it to wikipedia - LV and ENG versions - same content. It is not a business, just a place with beautiful history. Do you suggest me to make it {{paid|user=KetijaM|employer=VirkeniManor|client=VirkeniManor}}?[reply]

Hi KetijaM, thank you for your message.
Whether you are being compensated for your edits is something that you personally need to decide; you know this better than me. If you are being compensated, your proposed disclosure code looks fine. In this case, it needs to be added to your user page.
Text that you submit to Wikipedia needs to be written by you, in your own words. If you would like to use text that someone else has written, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 11:34, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please advise

[edit]

Hello ToBeFree,

Can you please advise, how to make my article active? Thank you for your answer!

KetijaM (talk) 08:50, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KetijaM, please address the issues described at the top of Draft:Virkeni Manor, which are:
  • The article needs references that prove the notability of the manor. An (over)simplified summary of the issue can be found here: WP:42
  • The article needs to be written by you, in your own words. Close paraphrasing is not allowed.
Afterwards, you can use the blue "Submit your draft for review!" button to submit your article for review. Thank you very much in advance. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 11:38, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
