Off white (colors) listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Off white (colors). Since you had some involvement with the Off white (colors) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Mhiji (talk) 14:13, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Cornflower blue trivia
If you have some sourced items, add them; but a forum is not a source. Don't add a long list of unsupported trivia. Dicklyon (talk) 18:50, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Same with other colors. You just make a lot of work by adding stuff that needs to be removed. Dicklyon (talk) 19:07, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
I've started a discussion about problems with your contributions at the color project: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Color#The_Keraunos_problem. Dicklyon (talk) 19:16, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Both the addition to the 2012 page and the main article need to be heavily cited. Also, I'm fairly sure that the photon belt idea wasn't initially tied to 2012. Given that the 2012 apocalypse meme only really got started in 1975, and the photon belt predates it by decades, it seems that the link to 2012 is a fairly recent phenomenon. Wikipedia Campus Ambassador needed
Hi! My name is Annie Lin - I'm the Campus Team Coordinator at the Wikimedia Foundation. I'm contacting you because you're listed as a resident of San Francisco, and we're currently looking for a friendly Wikipedian to teach students in a University of San Francisco class how to use/edit Wikipedia. This is a role titled the "Wikipedia Campus Ambassador," and you'll basically be doing in-class presentations about Wikipedia, running Wikipedia labs/workshops, and in general providing face-to-face Wikipedia help for the professor and the students in the class. The time commitment is about 3-5 hours a week (with variations throughout the semester), and for this particular University of San Francisco class, most of the workload will be between March and May.
Please let me know if you're interested!
Thanks. Annie Lin (Campus Team Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 19:23, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Bodhidharma
People who have blue eyes are Aryan? Its Nazi definition of Aryans.Aryan means 'noble'.Genetically there is so much difference between Germans and Indians. If you check out or search for genetic research results you will find out that most of Indian share same haplogroup.South Asian people do not show that much similarity with outside group. For phenotype to happen [ changing skin from white to brown or body structure]It needs thousands of years even before Bodhidharma.Dont be half educated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.200.218.163 (talk) 14:56, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Linking from within quoted material
I've just reverted this well-intentioned pair of edits by you (as well as other edits which are more dubious and not your responsibility). MoS says: "As much as possible, avoid linking from within quotes, which may clutter the quotation, violate the principle of leaving quotations unchanged, and mislead or confuse the reader." -- Hoary (talk) 07:38, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Adviser/advisor
Hi, Thunderbolt! You have a cool animation there and an interesting user page. We are opposites! Except I like art. Oh, yeah, and I'm smart. ;) Anyway, this is just a friendly note to let you know that there are two accepted spellings for adviser. I'm not reverting your edit at Sumptuary law, but suggesting you may want to save yourself the trouble in the future. I can't find this in the WP:MOSS, so assume we just need to make sure we adhere to one form on any given page. Regards, Yopienso (talk) 03:11, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Sanat Kumara page
Hey Keraunos. It's good to see somebody trying to maintain a high standard of accuracy and completeness in articles like the one describing Sanat Kumara. However, as mentioned on that article's talk page, it seems like there is a lot of misplaced and extraneous information that doesn't need to be there, such as the Theosophist views on Shamballa, and the section about the other Ascended Masters. I'm not trying to say that info doesn't belong anywhere on Wikipedia. I'm merely suggesting that it would make more sense to link to relevant and appropriate articles, rather than trying to make every article all-encompassing. I won't try to revert your edits without your direct approval, but please consider this request for pruning. Thanks. Flutterman (talk) 21:26, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at Jay Neitz
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Jay Neitz, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. The article Timberwolf (color) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable. Proprietary colour name of a crayon, with no evidence that it has been more generally.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:00, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Color-related merger discussions
Hello! I've seen you commenting on various color-related AfD's and merger discussions, and thought that you might be interested in taking a look at some of the current discussions for mergers and redirects of color articles. The discussions are located at Talk:Redwood (color), Talk:Lion (color), Talk:Camel (color), Talk:Wine (color), Talk:Redwood (color), Talk:Flame (color), Talk:Brandeis blue, Talk:Byzantium (color), Talk:Amethyst (color), and Talk:Robin egg blue.--Slon02 (talk) 20:55, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've noticed that you commented on most if not all of the discussions that I listed. I'd like your input on these colors as well before I propose them for merging, since you're more experienced in this topic than I am. The colors are Cool grey (includes a human culture section that you added, but I'm not sure if that's enough), Charcoal (color), Davy's grey, Pumpkin (color), Persian orange (has a human culture section), and Apricot (color).--Slon02 (talk) 02:33, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Cool grey can be merged into the "Cool grays" section of Variations of gray. Charcoal (color) can be merged into the "Off-grays" section of Variations of gray. Please hold off on proposing a merge for Davy's grey because that is an achromatic color and I still have to create an "Achromatic gray" section in the Variations of gray article. Pumpkin (color) and Persian orange can be merged into Variations of orange. Just bring along the items in the "human culture" section (and the photo of the pumpkins for the color pumpkin) and put them in the subsection for the color (without a human culture heading) as is done in the Variations of green article. Please do not propose Apricot (color) to be merged because I have a lot of tones of apricot I plan to add to that article. Keraunos (talk) 05:01, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've created merger discussions for cool grey, charcoal (color), pumpkin (color), and Persian orange.--Slon02 (talk) 00:09, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- I'm almost finished merging the articles that I named earlier. I see that you have created an "Achromatic gray" section in variations of gray- what would you say to merging Davy's grey into it now?--Slon02 (talk) 20:02, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Unreliable sources
Perbang.dk is not a reliable source, and it mirrors content of colour articles from en.wikipedia. Please do not add new content based only on perbang.dk entries. bobrayner (talk) 12:48, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- I note that, as well as restoring hitherto unsourced colours by using perbang's copies of en.wikipedia entries (this is circular referencing and is a Bad Thing), a lot of the other unsourced cruft and minimal-quality trivia that I removed has been restored. For instance, this (there are lots of other similar examples). Please stop now. This is an encyclopædia. Please stop adding so many unsourced claims.
More unreliable sources
I note that you removed the unsourced-section tag I applied to Deep Saffron, and you added three sources - none of which mention "Deep Saffron". This really is bizarre. Sources aren't just decoration; they're meant to support the text that you are adding to articles. If you cannot find a source which supports what you want to say, please please please stop adding it to the encyclopædia. bobrayner (talk)

Hi Keraunos,
I just wanted to give you a heads-up about the next wiki-meetup happening in SF. It'll be located at our very own Wikimedia Foundation offices, and we'd love it if some local editors who are new to the meetup scene came and got some free lunch with us :) Please sign up on the meetup page if you're interested in attending, and I hope to see you soon! Your input is needed on the SOPA initiative
Hi Keraunos,
You are receiving this message either because you expressed an opinion about the proposed SOPA blackout before full blackout and soft blackout were adequately differentiated, or because you expressed general support without specifying a preference. Thank you.

Mysterious sweet potato
Hi! Thanks for your fun and interesting question. Your sweet potato is a sample of Ipomoea batatas 'Ayamurasaki'. First of all, this means that what you ate is an actual sweet potato, and not a purple yam or other sweet potato impersonator. 'Ayamurasaki' is the name of the cultivar. It's a Japanese name because Ayamurasaki originates on Okinawa Island; specifically, in Yomitan and/or Kadena. (I laughed when I saw your question, because I used to live in Yomitan, and I went to grammar school near Kadena.)
"Hawaiian sweet potato" is typically what packers and distributors call the Ayamurasaki cultivar when it's grown in Hawaii.
Although these sweet potatoes are commonly called ben imo (紅芋) in Japanese, that name is just as botanically ambiguous as "purple potato" or "red potato" is in other languages.
I might as well also mention that Ayamurasaki's pith is purple because it contains a lot of anthocyanin—the same pigment that colours some cabbage leaves, maize/corn kernels, and table grapes. Ayamurasaki is bred specifically for high anthocyanin content. Happily, anthocyanin is an antioxidant. – Ringbang (talk) 05:36, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- About your follow-up question: After checking some catalogs, I recognize that "Okinawan sweet potato" doesn't necessarily mean the same thing in the West as it does in Japan. Sorry for misinforming you about the cultivar name! It seems that what you bought is actually a variety called 'Purple Heart'. This cultivar is yet another derivative of the "Okinawan" sweet potato.
Careful, though, because "Purple Heart" is also an alias for an ornamental sweet potato cultivar called 'Black Heart' (aka "Ace of Spades"), which is grown for its heart-shaped leaves. In addition, another cultivar grown in Hawaii, 'Rapoza', has a purple root pith, but paler skin than the 'Purple Heart' roots you tried. – Ringbang (talk) 00:12, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Colours and sources again
Hi,
I notice that you've been adding more sourced colour-coordinates. In principle, this could be a really positive move; but only if it's a reasonable source. Alas, the lists on i-freeware-download.com appear to have been scraped indiscriminately from elsewhere (including from some crappy made-up content on en.wikipedia which I removed a few months ago) so this is not a good place to start - the last thing we want to do is reintroduce errors thanks to circular sourcing. It's just like the perbank.dk problem which was brought up before. bobrayner (talk) 11:03, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

- I'm a little troubled by the current state WP:PORNBIO given the suggestions that you made in this AfD. Assuming that the situation vis-a-vis awards is as you put it, I think this means that PORNBIO needs to be altered or annotated (we might say "relaxed") with reference to gay-related awards. On the other hand, I gather that PORNBIO has just been through a major set of discussions and there will not be any taste for opening the file again, except perhaps among people who don't think gay porn or any porn is a fit topic for Wikipedia… I'm wondering if you have any thoughts about this, and what might be appropriate to do. Perhaps there might be some way that we could organize a proposal before opening the can of worms by working cooperatively. (PS: I remember Vladimir Correa with pleasure but I have to say I never felt he was exceptionally notable… sorry to not have agreed with you on this AfD.) Ubelowme (talk) 20:30, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
