Speedy deletion nomination of Maj. Gen. SB Pope DSO, CB
[edit]A tag has been placed on Maj. Gen. SB Pope DSO, CB requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I have added some info and two refs to Sydney B. Pope. i also moved it to a title in conformance with Wikipedia:Article titles and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). Additional information and additional references would be very helpful to this article. DES (talk) 01:08, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Basic Mountaineering Course
[edit]Hello Kausis,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Basic Mountaineering Course for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. —Swpbtalk 20:06, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- There is already an article Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, which is itself of dubious notability, and there is no justification at all for a second article dealing with this business. Wikipedia is not a how-to guide or an Indiscriminate collection of information. It is an encyclopedia. All the information here must have reliable sources, and must meet minimal criteria for notability. It is not appropriate to have two articles on the same topic. —Swpbtalk 20:27, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
