Speedy deletion nomination of User talk:Joseph Van Vinike
Please remove my deletion ( Paros1) on the article for Jerome Paros. I would like to revise the article.

- Katieh5584 did not delete your article, nor do they have the ability to undelete it as they aren't an admin. Katieh5584 did properly tag it for deletion. The administrator that deleted your sandbox is User:Athaenara. That would be the place to start. Since it was deleted for being spam, you will have to explain to them why it isn't or how you will change it from being spam. Dennis Brown | 2¢ | WER 21:24, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
Semi protection of your talk page
I see that new editors who have questions for you cannot talk to you, and they are forced to post on your user page. Considering you're dealing with lots of anti-vandalism, and that involves a lot of new users, could I ask why you've gotten your talk page semi-protected? Couldn't you just create a subpage to your talk page, where new users can edit? I'd be happy to answer questions by new editors who want to learn how to edit Wikipedia. 123chess456 (talk) 21:52, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- @123chess456: Just because Katieh5584 is dealing with anti-vandalism, this page gets a lot of vandalism. I know first hand. (t) Josve05a (c) 00:41, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Do you want me to protect your talk page? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:27, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
Yes, please. Thanks.Katieh5584 (talk) 22:28, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- I've removed the protection, partly because it's been a while and partly because someone raised a (valid) concern about the protection being indefinite and therefore inappropriate. To clarify, any more vandalism or attacks will justify protection again, but hopefully that won't be necessary. Please comment in the ANI thread as well. What you've chosen as your area of activity here requires by definition to be able to communicate effectively, so you either need to communicate with other editors or you need to change the level and nature of your contributions. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 04:28, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Notification of ANI
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123chess456 (talk • contribs) 00:22, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- The thread is Pattern of reverting edits made on other user's talk pages Meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 00:57, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- Katie, to sum up what has been said at the ANI:
- You've been editing in extremely good faith but are sometimes too quick to delete/revert things.
- Since you've previously indicated you struggle with communicating, you need to find a way to work on such skills. Other Wikipedians can help you with this, but you have to be willing to work on the skills and to follow pointers given for improving such skills.
- I'll let Meteor sandwich give the details. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 09:11, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- 123chess456 questioned if you were "biting newbies" (being rude) by reverting things that weren't vandalism. They said you might should have your tools taken away, but other people said you can continue fighting vandalism and should have another chance.
- Points of focus:
- Don't revert notices on user pages (warnings, blocks, sockpuppetry tags) as you did on A delicious pot pie. That's still editwarring. Only revert if someone tries to remove deletion tags or add vandalism. Admins can just check the page history.
- You need to communicate directly with people if they have questions; if you don't, they'll think you're ignoring them
- If they post on your talk page, respond.
- It can be really simple, like saying "OK", "Sorry, I guess I made a mistake" (if you did) or "No, I don't think I messed up" (if you didn't).
- Don't delete comments without responding.
- If they ask something you can't answer, you can ask for help: XXSNUGGUMSXX and I are happy to help you communicate. User talk:ThatPeskyCommoner (autism-friendly chat place) is another place you can go.
- I'm going to "stalk" you for a little bit to make sure you're doing all right and begin answering some people's questions. If this message wasn't clear, you can ask me. You're not in trouble, we just don't want you scaring off other people! Meteor sandwich yum (talk • contribs) 18:00, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Katieh5584, i respect you very much (even though i don't know you), but if you could please tell me what you put on my page, because now it has been deleted. - @Wilmad2178: (Not Katieh5584): I believe you're talking about your talk page being deleted.
- It wasn't personal, it's just policy that we can't have pages that diss people, even if it's true. Wikipedia is more of an encyclopedia than a blog, why don't you start your own? Maybe a #IHateJustinBeiber thing on Twitter or something. Or get a MySpace account and talk all about it. I can pretty much guarantee you it won't be deleted there. APPA
I am totally new to this. I saw your name at the bottom of a 'speedy deletion' of a U-20 Soccer team article I created.
2 reasons stated:
a. ambiguous promotion b. not relevant or something
Maybe it did have ambiguous promotion, whatever that is. But, it is totally relevant. There are like 30 teams in this same national league and they have articles. Why do they not cease to exist?
Please explain. How can people start and learn if they get crushed with no recourse or discussion?
If you can't help me, please refer me to someone who can.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mexicomountie (talk • contribs) 01:53, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Katieh5584: After you welcome somebody, put it on your watchlist for a few days. The article in question is APPA Aguilas.
- @Mexicomountie: I'm going to reply here.
Why do they not cease to exist?
- WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Basically, the other stuff just wasn't checked.
How can people start and learn if they get crushed with no recourse or discussion?
- You had two options. One was to contest the deletion on the talk page (it looks like you did, but didn't make a strong argument); the other was to use your sandbox to create a draft. Although it's still possible for it to be deleted, it will give you a chance to work on it first.
- And yes. WP:ADVERTISING is deleted at all times. Only an administrator (such as JamesBWatson, not Katieh or me) can see deleted history.
- I can't tell if it was spam or not. I see you've already brought this to JamesBWatson's page, wait for their reply.
- This was not personal, and not intended to make you feel bad. It's routine cleanup protocol.
- Wrong venue. Please move to the talk page of JamesBWatson– Meteor sandwich yum (talk • contribs) 02:20, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Regarding what you term 'attacking' the 'editor' so named "master of puppets"
Regarding the evils of this world; of those not directly pertaining to my God's word, I am powerless to challenge but, regarding slandering the Buddhist texts and making, by most standards, many unreasonable edits (cutting quotes from Max Muller, Alexander Hamilton[cousin of the prez], Thomas Paine, Edward Pococke & etc), I have proclaimed myself absolute sovereign over matters such as these and will act accordingly. My man, sometimes it is the case were an average run of the mill person profanely treats the profound and, if there not be a wise person to warn them of such actions, they will fall victim to their own ignorance. I understand how this is offensive to you but I doubt that you are totally informed about the said devils crimes. Whatever the case, you must do what you think is proper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.78.66.26 (talk) 23:27, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Tony Penikett: Delete & Changes
May 23rd, 2014 Hi Katie,
I did mean to delete the whole thing, I actually work for Tony Penikett, and I was struggling to change a picture without it being taken off; he also felt that some of the information is skewed and would have rather me "delete" the whole thing.
If you could help me with making the appropriate changes he prefers that would be awesome. I've tried reading about how to post/change/log/properly release a photo but I'm not going to lie it's really confusing for me.
He would just like:
Tony Penikett: - Whitehorse City Councillor 1977-1979; - Member of the Yukon Legislative Assembly for Whitehorse West, 1978-1995; - Senior Advisor, Cabinet planning Unit, Government of Saskatchewan, Regina, 1995-1997; - Deputy Minister, Negotiations and, later, Labour, Government of British Columbia, Victoria, 1997-2001; - President, Tony Penikett Negotiations Inc., 2001
I was about to attach a picture but I really don't know how... I'll just try to change it again on the page and hopefully it sticks...If you could email me with help that would be awesome. Major help is needed...
I just attempted to change his page, I probably didn't do it quite right but i tried!

Updated Tony Penikett Changes
May 30th, 2014
Hi Katieh5584, I did my best to follow all the rules of wikipedia, I added the CC Market to the photo before uploading it, I looked for references to the changes, and I fixed some other citations that were incorrect as well. I really hope that It doesn't not get wiped and changed back. Please help me with this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmlee28 (talk • contribs)
- (talk page stalker) hello Jmlee, I appreciate your endeavours to ensure the article is correct with up to date information. However it is clear from your edit summaries that you are personally connected to the subject. The conflict of interest policy states that you should not edit Wikipedia to advance your own interests, and you should rather have talk page discussions. I am concerned that you have removed large portions of content - representing basically all his political career - for no well explained reason. Note that what Tony wants on the page does not determine the contents of the article. I would recommend you either to undo your edits and re discuss them on the article talk page, or to post there explaining for what good reason, within Wikipedia policy, you removed that content. Wikipedia is not for personal image massaging. I am willing to engage with you, but I do not feel your edits are an improvement due to the huge content removal.

I received you message regarding an unsupported entry for Enrique Graf left from this IP address. This is a shared computer and it is likely that another individual made the entry. Can you be more specific as to the entry which was made so I can contact the individual for a citation? Thank you!167.7.219.28 (talk) 16:11, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm not Katieh5584 but will answer for her. I don't think any action is necessary: it looks like baseless, off-topic vandalism, and has been undone to protect the individual from libel.
- Here is the permalink to the edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Enrique_Graf&diff=prev&oldid=605940569, which added the claim
"He resigned after being accused of sexual harassment by a student."

Help with Birch Society Page
You recently reverted an edit I made to the Birch Society page; can you explain why or edit the page to insert the valuable, accurate information I added? There is indeed a widespread impression that the Birch Society is “radical right.” When most people think of the "radical right" they instinctively think of the religious right and Republican Party. I can supply you with endless examples of the fact that the JBS has been consistently and vehemently critical of the GOP for decades both for doling our billions in corporate welfare and for waging unconstitutional military operations, both overt and covert, all over the world. On both of these issues they align with the progressive left (though they would part with the left on what to do once the troops were home). Did you know this? If it is true, don’t you agree it is worth noting on the Wiki page? (I can supply endless links directly to their website and literature to prove this to you, but you’ll have to email me because I am just getting familiar with joining the talking/editing discussions and stumbling through the process. My email is redacted) 67.189.166.173 (talk) 14:21, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) To editor Katieh5584: This is political, and seems to be resolved. The IP above has carried the conversations over at K6ka's page, DoctorJoeE's page, and the article's talk page. I think they have enough help as it is.

KFSR on Wikipedia
Katie,
Thank you for being friendly in your communications. The "Red Pen of Doom" breaks all the Wikipedia policies I've read about effective communication, courtesy and consideration.
Information on the Wikipedia page about KFSR Radio is incorrect. Specifically, the current logo, the "Call Sign Meaning", and there are wide gaps in the history of the radio station. There is also some very basic information about current programming/formatting as well as delivery (online streaming) information that is completely missing. I am simply trying to provide that information as a reliable "source".
With that being said, I understand that Wikipedia requires source references. Wikipedia lists a "source" as an article or book, from a writer or journalist, or a publisher. It cites that authors who are regarded as authoritative in relation to the subject can also be considered reliable sources. Further, it states that the term "published" can also include materials that are broadcast. As the Program Director and on-air host of the station, I am a journalist, an authority in relation to the subject and this information is broadcast daily.
Please tell me how I can go about providing Wikipedia with a better source of information about this radio station than the very individuals who are considered "sources" and broadcast "publishers" of the product?
Please guide me in how, as a media entity, our "media sources" can be produced by a reliable third party and be properly cited.
I sincerely thank you for any help you can offer. Julie Logan KFSR (talk) 05:33, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hi, I'm not Katieh5584 (I read her mail here).
- Although it appears you've read some policies on Wikipedia such as WP:Civility or Help:Referencing, you seem to be missing TheRedPenOfDoom's attempts at following the core policy of WP:NPOV (neutral point-of-view), which is equally important.
- The WP:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide might help you. Simply put, being an official representative (or the like) gives you less leeway here: it imparts a WP:Conflict of interest in your editing, and jeopardizes the neutrality of the writing; part of Wikipedia's mission is to achieve neutral synthesis about subjects, and we take one-sided editing very seriously here. Neither Katie, nor I, can help you any further, but wish you well in your goal to improve the accuracy of that article.
- If you have a problem with the article, take it up with the WP:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard and explain what you want changed. If you explain that the logo and company history are factually inaccurate, they should be able to assist, and may help guide you to reliable sources to back those statements up.
- More general questions (such as how to edit, technical aspects of editing, sourcing and the like) may be directed to the WP:Help Desk, a team of volunteers who answer questions. If you're stuck, it's always a good place to go.
- Regards, meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 22:06, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Conflict of interest on Claudia Keelan
Hi Katieh, I'm writing to suggest that the editing of my page Claudia Keelan is not a conflict of interest, and the deletion of the new entry isn't appropriate, as the page is years out of date and does not show the current state of the author's career. I wonder if you could send me my edits, and suggest what in the entry is inappropriate for Wikipedia's guidelines. I understand that the link to the video from The Berlin Poetry festival which was posted on Youtube, may demonstrate a copyright problem with Wikipedia, though all rights reverted to me upon filming. I'd really appreciate your help in making an entry that will not violate any of Wikipedia's guidelines. Thanks for all you do!
Sincerely Yours, --Claudia.keelan (talk) 05:16, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) (Not Katieh, just answering her mail) Still there? Sometimes I take awhile to get back to people.
- Based on your username, I'm guessing you are the person you are writing about; hence, you are writing an autobiography. I must caution you that content guidelines state that it's never a good idea to change the biography of your page unless something is factually inaccurate (such as where you grew up, the year you were born, etc.)
- Anything else is discouraged, because it's simply human nature to write about ourselves in a positive, promotional way—something that can upset the neutral tone Wikipedia is to be written in.
- I don't think the problem is copyright or "fair use" so much as...um...spam. I see you've added more external links, which already is pushing the guideline for external links (generally only one is permitted). We can leave the article where it is for now, but I don't think you should add any more links (that's not what the site is for). I also see you've been adding awards you've received recently. Wikipedia is not a resumé and should not be used as a means of promotion. I'm not sure that you should be editing your entry at all, really. It's definitely not recommended.
I wonder if you could send me my edits, and suggest what in the entry is inappropriate for Wikipedia's guidelines.
- Your edits are located at the top of the Wikipedia editing window, under "contributions". You can view them at any time by clicking on the link. Also, clicking "View history" on any page will show you who edited what and when. (Help:Contributions)
- I hope that answered your questions. Regards, meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 04:45, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

As someone who has edited the article Asian American this year, I am seeking your input on a proposed change to remove a reference to epicanthic eyefolds. This topic has prompted discussion in 2009, 2010 and most recently in 2013.
There's a fine line between being WP:BOLD and subverting WP:CONSENSUS. Given the history of this topic, I'm hoping that a robust discussion, for the record, would improve the article whether this reference stays or goes. Ishu (talk) 13:46, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Katie,
Hope you are well.
Going back to the Arabic article i created under the English section of Wikipedia and you advised me to translate it or create it under Wikipedia Arabic محفوظ بن مرعي بن محفوظ
I have created the English version many times and every time the page is deleted without sufficient support from the Wikipedian who deleted the page. And everytime i ask anyone for an assistance either i get ignored or they are very busy and do not have time to respond.
So, please i need your assistance to retrieve the page of Mahfouz Bin Marei Bin Mahfouz as well as the page of The Mahfouz Foundation.
As you can see from the pages, they are very important for charities, students and patients in UK, Middle East and Worldwide.
Also, the Arabic version of the page of Mahfouz Bin Marei Bin Mahfouz is already approved in Wikipedia Arabic as per the link below:
Please help me as i have been more than three months trying to create the pages and evertime i create them they get deleted.
Of course, any advice and suggestions from your are very welcomed.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance and look forward to hearing your positive feedback asap.

Public Storage Requesting Update to Article
Katieh5584,
Thanks for your welcome to Wikipedia a while back. I am with Public Storage and have an edit I am requesting to our page to correct an inaccuracy about insurance.
Current paragraph we are requesting be replaced.
According to an investigation by CBS TV Channel 5, Public Storage employees said they are trained to advise customers that insurance is required, when it isn't actually. Additionally, the station reported that many legitimate insurance claims were not paid.[5][6]
New paragraph we are requesting go in its place.
Public Storage sells insurance at its facilities and requires all customers to insure the items they store, though they can choose to go with existing homeowner’s or renter’s plans depending on their coverage, according to the company’s website. One TV station reported on customers who felt their claims were unfairly denied. [5][6]
The current text says that insurance is not required. It is, and that is verified in the video and on our website. It would also be impossible for the station to know if the claims are legitimate.
Thank you for your help and feedback. PSA1972 (talk) 22:20, 28 January 2015 (UTC)PSA1972
