[edit]Hi Karusamsu! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thanks for editing Wikipedia, though. I hope you decide to stay! Speedy deletion nomination of User:Karusamsu
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Karusamsu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Karusamsu, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited was Stillborn., which appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.
As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Wikishovel (talk) 20:05, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello and good day. I wont lie, the article I published was about myself, but I do believe I fulfill the requirements to be regarded as a ‘notable person’. Firstly, my audience deserves to know a little more about myself and my work than what i can provide directly, and what better reputable information source would i use besides Wikipedia, which I am already familiar with due to my contributions. Secondly, the article was composed by multiple people. I oversaw the majority of the article, because I know myself best, but it was written as 100% factual with no biased or controversial implementations, with the help of interviewers, researchers, and collaborators. Speedy deletion nomination of Stillborn.
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stillborn. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Bbb23 (talk) 21:23, 26 August 2024 (UTC)- {{unblock | reason=I spoke to another admin about this, they noted that I can keep this up as long as I fulfill the requirements of a notable person. I had responded to them, saying:
- "Hello and good day. I wont lie, the article I published was about myself, but I do believe I fulfill the requirements to be regarded as a ‘notable person’. - Because of this, the following applies:
- This block was not necessary to prevent damage or disruption (i.e., that the block violates Wikipedia's blocking policy)
- If you believe it's truly necessary, I will gladly find an administrator to publish this for me instead.
- Thank you for your time.~~~}} Karusamsu (talk) 21:57, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- This is nonsense. You've never spoken to an administrator. Nor did any user - administrator or otherwise - tell you anything special about you being permitted to promote yourself.
I will gladly find an administrator to publish this for me instead.
Ludicrous.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:10, 26 August 2024 (UTC)- Excuse me? Do you think you know everything? Actually, @Wikishovel let me know. Don't talk to me with disrespect after needlessly deleting my valid article.
- Y'know what? Let me ask you-- how did I "self-promote" or "advertise" anything within the article? Did you even read it? Or did your ego just incline you to delete it? Karusamsu (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Wikshovel, who is not an administrator, left you a canned message about the problems with creating autobiographies. Wikishovel also tagged your article for deletion based on WP:A7.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:51, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying that he is not an administrator, but after reading WP:A7, I’ve come to learn that my article does not apply to the criteria of WP:A7, which sates “This applies to any article about a real person… that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.” In the article, it was indicated why it is significant with:
- Cultural Influence: my teachings, influence, and music have significantly shaped the beliefs and practices of large communities.
- Historical impact: my work may provide insight to the evolution of spiritual practices and occult traditions.
- Artistic Influence: my music and spiritual teachings introduce a new genre.
- Societal impact: by leading a wide following, I’ve played roles in counterculture movements.
- Personal Insight: The article offers a rare glimpse into my life and mind, which is important for followers and those interested to be familiar with.
- You’d understand why it was important if you’d have read it, but because I’m banned for “self promotion,” I’ll rightfully assume you did not. So I’ll ask you again, how did I "self-promote" or "advertise" anything within the article? What can be done to get this published? Finally, I’d like to request you unban my account, considering I do not only Spam/Self-advertize. I have made contributions on this page, and have been working on other articles unrelated to myself. The only thing ludicrous about this is your power trip. Karusamsu (talk) 00:18, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I'd appreciate a reply. Thanks. Karusamsu (talk) 04:48, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
