Tennis - Brisbane International
Hello. Regarding the Qualifying Draw, may I ask why? All other tournaments of the same size and stature have individual articles for the Qualifying Draw, from a consistency point of view it seems very odd to start changing that now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwhittaker92 (talk • contribs) 22:55, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, understandable. So are all past tournaments to be moved or left as they are? Mwhittaker92 (talk) 23:22, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello Kante, could you, if it is possible for you, have a look on the results of the previous week and edit the 'pronounciation' marks for some players? Thanks for your help.Catgamer (talk) 18:27, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

EHF EURO 2012
Hello!
This was a question for me as well, before covered all the past events' squads for Hungary. I've only chosen to sum up the squads by names in ABC order to keep them standardized. You know, you can get the numbers nowdays, or back to a few years, but in an 1970's event I think it's impossible, and maybe could look strange that by the old squads it is classified by names and by the new ones it goes by numbers. However, looking at the other major sports (let's say footie, which is probably the best covered), the one you suppose is the widely used one, and honestly, it also catches my eyes much more than the "full names only" version. So, all in all, I might favour the "numbers" version, if you don't mind that there will be a discrepancy between the old and new squads. Bests, Thehoboclown (talk) 20:15, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, looks much better. And hopefully once in a time there will appear a big handball almanach to put all the squads into order of number or whatever. I might have told you earlier, but I really appreciate you dedicated work to handball-related (and generelly sport-related) articles! :) Bests, Thehoboclown (talk) 20:29, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Badminton biographies
Hey Kante, I've been thinking of expanding my work on wikipedia by adding photographs to the biographies of badminton players. Do you know if we are allowed to use pictures on tournamentsoftware.com? What about photographs from the BWF website?--MorrisIV (talk) 22:10, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Team kits and captains (AFCON)
Hi. I completed all the lineups that were missing in the articles for Groups B, C and D. (Group A was already complete.) But I skipped the kits because I wasn't entirely sure how to do them. You seem to have been doing them mostly so far, and if you're in the mood for this, could I ask you to do them to the end? Also, I didn't mark the captains, because the sources I was using did not explicitly indicate who a squad's captain was. Can you find that out? --Theurgist (talk) 04:19, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Tennis
Ok, I understand & respect the "notability standards". But I think that all tennis players must be linked. Anyway, not problem, you can revert my editions. --Raymond Cruise (talk) 20:36, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
The article José Pereira (tennis) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- In a quick search I see no main draws on the ATP tour (in singles or doubles), no Brazilian Davis Cup, no #3 juniors ranking or higher, and no jr slam. Maybe I'm missing something but he looks non-notable.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fyunck(click) (talk) 03:53, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Updating women's soccer articles (like the 2012 Algarve Cup) is a thankless job. Let me be the first to say, thank you for expanding our coverage to give the women who suit up for their country the respect they deserve, as well. Achowat (talk) 18:42, 2 March 2012 (UTC) |

Confederation number in re 2012 Algarve Cup
You were absolutely correct about their being 3 instead of 4. Something led me to think that Brazil was playing in the tournament (probably because the Brazil Women are playing as part of a double-header to open my club's season). Cheers! Achowat (talk) 22:34, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. I checked it several times and thought i would be missing something. ;) Keep it up! Kante4 (talk) 22:51, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

the detail for Denmarks 7th goal against the Netherlands is very strange. If you look at the game summary it indicates that at the time of the goal Olausson was both in the penalty box and on the ice. just looking ahead and wondering what you think about adding a third colour designation in the preliminary round. right now it is green for advancing and red for the relegated team, but I wondered about a colouring for 5th through 7th so teams can be marked as not being able to advance while the round is still in progress.18abruce (talk) 00:03, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
NBA team standings
Regarding this, we don't need to use {{NBA team standings}} for previous seasons "because it is computationally expensive and its sole purpose is to ease updates." That is why we subst with a regular table when the season ends.—Chris!c/t 05:19, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Just so you know, I deleted the entire list of subs from the Poland v Greece game. We don't list all 12 subs because there's no point; the subs are all the players in the squad (excluding anyone ineligible), and the squads can be seen at UEFA Euro 2012 squads, so there's no need to list all 12. Just list anyone who comes on, OK? – PeeJay 15:22, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I've already started doing the line-up images :) By the way, why is Jan Rezek listed as "LF" when Vaclav Pilar on the opposite wing is listed as "RW"? – PeeJay 20:00, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- OK, no worries. It's just that when you updated for the Hubschman substitution, you changed it back to "LF", but it's fixed now. Cheers. – PeeJay 20:03, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree with you about the flags. If we add flags to coaches even if they're from the country they are managing, we might as well add flags to the players too, which would be pointless. Flags should only be for foreign coaches. – PeeJay 20:07, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Since coaches do not have to be from the country they are coaching, whereas players do, it may be confusing to not put flags beside some coaches, as it is not always cleat they are from the same country. This is how it is done on many other pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveMReilly (talk • contribs) 20:15, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's why there are flags besides those coaches who are not from the same country. PeeJay is right and so it's been done the last tournaments, rightfully so. Kante4 (talk) 20:17, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Euro 2012
A national flag is always added to a coach, as some are from other nations (the absence of a flag leaves confusion to readers)

Italy team
Why have you changed my corrections? are you even watching the game?--86.21.136.74 (talk) 16:47, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- If you watch correctly you'll see that Italy are playing with De Rossi in the Libero role. Chierlini is playing to De Rossi's left with Bonucci to his right. Maggio is the right fullback and Gianicherini is the left fullback. Will you please correct this as you've got them on the wrong side.--86.21.136.74 (talk) 16:52, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- But Eufa.com is wrong, they publish they're line ups when they're released and thats just they'e just a prediction of how the teams will play and should only be used as a rough guide.--86.21.136.74 (talk) 16:59, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Do you know your left from your right? Maggio is on the right not the left, the no. 13 is on the left. Chierlini is not playing at right back and Bonucci is not playing at left back.....--86.21.136.74 (talk) 17:08, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, but Chierlini and Bonucci need to be switched too. Fair enough? No intention of being either cocky or arrogant, just don't like people putting the wrong facts on here. Uefa publish their formations before kick off so how can they be certain until the game kicks off? Just something to consider for future matches.--86.21.136.74 (talk) 17:14, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thats right, an hour before the game they have to hand in a written team sheet. That is the eleven players who'll start but they don't have to specify which formation nor which which positions each player will play. Thank you for changing the statistics.--86.21.136.74 (talk) 17:31, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Edits
Sorry for that, I'm doing some multitasking, watching the game online and at the same time updating. Welbeck was injured and had to go off the pitch, that's why I thought Hodgson would make a sub. By the way, how do you update so quickly? My edits are always in edit conflicts? Arbero (talk) 16:38, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Line-ups
Yep, sorry about that, was going to correct it. Will try and be more specific next time. Arbero (talk) 14:55, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- The line-ups came in a couple of minutes ago. So I had to change the positions, and that takes a lot of time, and I'm using a Mac. And when I have corrected them, my edits always gets stucked in edit conflict, since you seem to be quicker than me. Arbero (talk) 15:03, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- I will think about it, but can I at least add all the players in the line-ups next time? I don't have much to do, and would like to help out here at the Euro 2012 group stages. I'm not very good at player positions to be honest. Is that alright, or maybe you want to do it all by yourself perhaps? Arbero (talk) 15:23, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- I guess you can continue then, as I lack quick fingers. But anyway, who do you think is going to win Euro 2012? I myself don't have a particular winner, but Germany and Spain are favourites, Netherlands haven't really been up to their standards, after struggling against Denmark, and I would not count Italy out either to be honest, they could surprise us. Another possibility is that an underdog, like Greece in 2004, could win it. Arbero (talk) 15:38, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- I see, are you watching the games on television at home or are you actually in Poland/Ukraine? I'm watching at home in Sweden, not on television, but via my computer, from someone else's stream, ITV/BBC, if you know what I mean. ;) Arbero (talk) 15:55, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, the Swedish channels, SVT and TV4 do show the games, and I have access to both channels, but I prefer English commentary to Swedish, and I like the English half-time analysis better, as they are more entertaining to watch, and the pundits are all ex-footballers, if you have ever heard of ITV/BBC, you should know it. Congratulations!
Just wanted to congratulate you on the German win! You were great in the first half, but Netherlands had more advantage and were the better side in the second half. Arbero (talk) 20:49, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, Germany-Netherlands matches are always entertaining to watch. But if I was Löw, I would probably keep Gómez on, Germany were more lethal when he was in front. And he would have probably gotten an hat-trick. Are your thoughts the same? Arbero (talk) 20:55, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Don't forget Schweinsteiger! ;) Two assists to Gómez, I think. Arbero (talk) 21:01, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Russia? They looked a bit vulnerable against Poland yesterday. And Germany won against them in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. I think you should be more worried about sides, such as Spain or maybe Italy if they qualify. Arbero (talk) 21:20, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Are you sure? What about Denmark? Seeing today's match against Portugal and Saturday against Netherlands, they look like a side with full of surprises, and could perhaps give Germany a run for their money. ;) Arbero (talk) 21:28, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

I knew you were going to be online. ;) So you are not going then? By the way, I think I got most of the names correct, did I? Arbero (talk) 15:02, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- Alright then. Yep, think I need to practice on the positions more, for me, they are very tricky to remember, especially when the manager makes changes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the Italy line-ups for the Spain-Italy match be the same then? Arbero (talk) 15:07, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- Wait, i'll take the question back, seeing that some players in the Italian squad played in different positions in their match against Spain. Arbero (talk) 15:17, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Thought Spain were brilliant tonight. You shouldn't be counting them out! ;) Arbero (talk) 20:48, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm aware of that, but if they'll continue like this, they could beat Croatia and other teams as well. So don't underestimate them! ;) Arbero (talk) 21:22, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Sweden defeat
I'm quite disappointed, we were 2–1 in the middle of the second half, but then we concede two goals and lost 2–3. We almost won it, but that defending was really poor; they could have prevented the goals, and Isaksson, the Swedish goalkeeper is well past his best, his reactions are awful. Arbero (talk) 21:04, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- He was a bit greedy with the ball, should have passed more, and Sweden could have gotten at least an point. Arbero (talk) 23:17, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Euro 2012
Surprised Russia didn't make it yesterday. From a long way, it looked like they were going to qualify, but Greece made it difficult for them. But Portugal will take the second place today; I'm not expecting any miracles today with Netherlands. They haven't exactly found their form they had during the qualifiers. Arbero (talk) 17:02, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Postiga and Varela when he comes on as a substitute will probably get on the scoresheet. Perhaps Pepe as well. Difficult to see if Ronaldo will get a goal, he hasn't impressed me that much, most of the chances he had in Portugal's earlier matches weren't exactly that difficult to score. Arbero (talk) 17:59, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Looks like I got to eat my words about Ronaldo tonight. ;) Arbero (talk) 20:54, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- But you would agree with me that Ronaldo didn't impress that much in the previous matches against Germany and Denmark? He missed a lot of chances in those matches. Arbero (talk) 21:08, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- I understand then. Anyway, do you think Greece could cause an upset against Germany? ;) They can a very tricky side to play against sometimes, you never know what will happen. Arbero (talk) 21:23, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Were you occupied yesterday? Didn't see you updating the Group A matches? Arbero (talk) 21:32, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Which game did you watch, and who were you and your friends cheering for? I wanted Russia and Czech Republic to progress. Arbero (talk) 21:41, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Which sides do you think will win tonight? I'm going with Spain and Italy, the usual suspects. Croatia are great in midfield and offensively, but I fear Spain will be a step too far for them, as they basically have quality players in all positions. Of course, one should not underestimate the Croatians, but Spain wants to win the group, so I don't think they will settle for a draw. Republic of Ireland has been poor so far in the tournament, and Italy has a great defensive record and better players overall, so I can't see the Irish preventing the Italians from qualifying to the quarter-finals. - If Croatia don't win, are you at least hoping for a draw? Arbero (talk) 18:22, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- What an exciting night! Looks like both Spain and Italy advanced. But credit to Croatia, they played well tonight and throughout the tournament. Thought Spain were going to run them over, but Croatia created a lot of chances and played some good defensive play. Arbero (talk) 21:02, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Sweden finally got a win tonight! Very satisfied, gutted we didn't play like this against England. Arbero (talk) 20:54, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Did you see Ibrahimović's goal? It was a very well-struck volley. England was a bit lucky today, Ukraine created some good chances, and had an disallowed goal, but I think it was ruled out for offside. Anyway, I have enjoyed all matches in the group stage, hopefully the knockout stage can be very exciting as well. Arbero (talk) 21:06, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
My apologies, I will do my best to try and avoid more edit conflicts in the future. Are you still furious at me? Arbero (talk) 21:30, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Didn't know what player was going to start since Chiellini was injured. So I had to look first. Arbero (talk) 17:50, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Because I would like to do some work. But every time I complete my edits, they always lead into conflicts. I suppose you must have very quick hands by any means? Arbero (talk) 18:01, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Think it will be a very even match today between England and Italy. It will probably end in a draw, and after extra time, then go to penalties, where Italy will win. Arbero (talk) 18:25, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for that, was just keen on updating the penalties as well. ;) Arbero (talk) 21:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Is your television a couple of seconds ahead? Arbero (talk) 21:36, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- So when Balotelli scored the first penalty goal, was your television showing Gerrard taking his penalty? Arbero (talk) 21:43, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps your television had shown Balotelli already taking his penalty? Mind you I'm watching a stream, so Balotelli hadn't taken it yet. Arbero (talk) 21:47, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Not a really big fan of my own Swedish commentary. They don't speak that much as English commentators on BBC, who are more interesting to listen to in my opinion. Plus BBC also has no commercial breaks, so that's very positive, unlike TV4. Arbero (talk) 22:02, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Thought Portugal were going to use the home kit and Spain the away kit. At least that's what I saw on the German and Russian Wikipedia pages. Arbero (talk) 18:52, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- Was watching SVT on their official website, and that stream was a couple of seconds after. Just wanted to update the substitution, but forgot to delete the substitution for Portugal, I feared it would go into a edit conflict again, if I spent my time deleting it. Arbero (talk) 20:39, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- By the way, I was expecting a lot more from this match, it's been a disappointment for me so far. Arbero (talk) 20:41, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- When I referred to disappointment, I meant the 90 minutes, not the extra time. I think the extra time was far better. Penalties weren't that bad either. Anyway, Spain struggled a lot, perhaps Germany might have a chance in the final, if they win against Italy tomorrow. Arbero (talk) 21:52, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, Spain have gotten quite lucky. But I think Ronaldo should have passed the ball more and the finishing from other players could have been better, Portugal would probably have scored then. Arbero (talk) 22:02, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

What are your thoughts on the final and the tournament? I thought it was exciting, and very entertaining, Spain showed their truth side, that they are capable of entertaining and scoring goals, even though they were a bit poor in the group stages, as well as having some lucky calls with them. They also wrote history, by becoming the first team to win three tournaments in a row. However, Italy didn't plays as well as they did against Germany, and when Thiago Motta was injured, their chances very much disappeared. Overall, I thought this was a wonderful tournament to watch, even though some teams should have scored more goals than just one. Arbero (talk) 14:12, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Ok, sorry. My mistake :) Arturkozlov (talk) 14:44, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
