Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Kaizenify. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Ommo Clark, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See WP:PAID. Thank you. WBGconverse 15:34, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello Winged Blades of Godric, thank you for your message but I think there might be a mix-up here. I didn’t create the page Ommo Clark, i only added the correct link to her website on the page and that doesn’t warrant a conflict of interest clause. Please do check again and revert appropriately. Thanks. Kaizenify (talk) 16:05, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Re Zoe Charlton

Dear Kaizenify, A few moments ago I patrolled your article Zoe Charlton. The page curation tool shows that there is a copyvio. When checked the Earwig's tool says, 50.6% violation, and content appears to be copied from [this link]. I am not able to see whether this content is free or not? Could you please re-phrase the content in article. Thanks. ─ The Aafī (talk) 06:39, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Care to Explain?

Can you explain this action? Although already remedied accurately by Curb Safe Charmer as they sent the article back to draft see here my concerns are as follows; at first you accepted the article which is on a non notable entity at AFC, then proceeded to do this, which, for a lack of better word to describe this action is just “off” if the article had notability concerns as well as the optimization of unreliable sources, why then did you accept the article in the first place? Do you mind sharing with me why you accepted a promotional article on a non notable person? Celestina007 (talk) 15:27, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

@Celestina007: I left Kaizenify a similar question at the time, and they provided an explanation. See these edits. They deleted the discussion afterwards, as seems to be their way. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:33, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
@Curb Safe Charmer, They seem to manually remove entirely all entries I presume they do not like from their tp. I’m awaiting their response on this very action of theirs. Celestina007 (talk) 16:08, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
  • I have assumed good faith and waited patiently for a response, six days have passed now since I originally asked you to explain your reason for accepting a promotional article via AFC, Despite your reluctance to WP:COMMUNICATE. I would like to assume good faith and overlook this as an “error”. I am also pinging Primefac to this discussion so they are aware you are making inappropriate “accepts” at AFC. If I note more of such mistakes in the future I am left with no other choice than to file an official report at ANI. Celestina007 (talk) 16:11, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
