Response

Thank you. Point taken, I appreciate it. I'll stand well clear of this issue now. There's my usual Wikipedia haunts of politics and election results to busy myself with doktorb wordsdeeds 19:17, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello. You've just added a rather sweet anecdote about Slava on his death bed, which in your annotation you said was from a BBC documentary. You didn't say which one - would you mind adding this detail for your citation? Thanks, Alfietucker (talk) 22:26, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. :) Alfietucker (talk) 23:30, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello - sorry to be a bore, but again you've added material to the Rostropovich article without any citations. I've done what I can from Elizabeth Wilson's book on Rostropovich, but I can't cover all the anecdotes you've given. Do please try to provide citations, as another editor may well place tags demanding citations or may - as is their right - cut your material out altogether (that is, any material I haven't given a citation for). Thanks, Alfietucker (talk) 03:34, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

No it's not necessary to put a footnote to every sentence, but if the additions are scattered throughout an article then it is not going to be obvious to readers that they are all from the same source. Therefore they really need inline citations. Please could you fix these (i.e. confirm that they are all from the BBC documentary you previously cited). Revising ESB/SOA List of Main Softare Makers

Dear. I am currently trying to take some time over Chistmas to foster the whole ESB/SOA technology section with my authority by trying to reword some articles and slightly adding contents. The subject seems to be orphaned for quite some years now.

Since I am in contact with many of the softare makers in the middleware sector, I have been alerted during my review by Fiorano Sofwtare that their Wiki page has been repeatedly removed. From the logs I can follow the general argument and reasoning for purging the pages. However, I also found that then there is an imbalance between the handling of others int he range. Namely Tibco, Software AG, Sonic etc. I have sampled them and they all present mainly themselves as a company. We would need to make a decision to either remove them from Wikipedia as well or take Fiorano back in for the sake of completeness. I would put the article then again in in the same style written as the one of, let us say, Tibco.

Since you were the one who deleted the Fiorano article I wanted your comments first.

Kind regards -Axel Angeli (talk) 11:45, 19 Dec 2011 (UTC)

They have repeatedly attempted to use Wikipedia for promotional purposes, and the existence of articles on other firms is not relevant (see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). You have not made enough contributions for me to see the sorts of things you are going to write about. I suggest that if you must write about that firm you leave them until last and write a draft in your user space first so it can be reviewed, otherwise it risks deletion again. Your small number of edits thus far does include adding this firm to a list alongside the likes of Microsoft, IBM and Oracle - that's the kind of thing they have been doing for a long time, and I don't like it. Dear JzG, I wanted to create a biographic article/stub on a prison governor in Pakistan named Tariq Mahmood Khan Babur. Unfortunately, creation of a page with this name is found blocked by you. So, I have created a stub named Tariq Babur. But the html reference on which this stub is based tells the name of this person as Tariq Mahmood Khan Babur. I tried to move the page to this full name yet the redirect was not created responding that the name Tariq Mahmood Khan Babur is blocked. Can you please help by visiting the page Tariq Babur and move it to Tariq Mahmood Khan Babur? Thanks in anticipation.--JC Bills (talk) 06:30, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

You need to give some indication of why they are notable. Wikipedia is not a directory. "X is a prison governor" is not an article, it's a directory entry (and that just barely). Guy (Help!) 10:40, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Reviving WikiProject PipeOrgan

Hello, JzG! I'm attempting to revive Wikipedia:WikiProject PipeOrgan. As you are one of the founders of this project I hope you would like to participate in its revival if you have time. Kind regards, Danmuz (talk) 14:02, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Academy of Achievement

Hello Guy, you were recently involved (however tangentially) in the review of an article called Academy of Achievement. Prior to November, it was much too promotional; at present, I think the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction, as I've explained in a note on the article's discussion page. It's worth noting that I've been engaged by the Academy to help resolve the matter; in hopes of doing so efficiently, I've prepared a proposed replacement (in my user space here) that I hope presents an acceptable compromise, or a workable starting point. Hope you can join in discussion on that Talk page. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 18:32, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
